I have been using the Joby GorillaPod for the past few months with my micro projector. I used to use a micro fixed leg tripod, which worked well, but was not especially durable. As well as this, I found some difficulties getting the positioning right in smaller rooms. This GorillaPod offers unrivalled versatility and has been wonderful to use when travelling. Indeed, I have attached my projector to the frame of a bunkbed, the back rest of a chair and the handle from a set of office draws. You certainly can't do that with a conventional tripod! The GorillaPod relies on a typical screw mount which can be found on most cameras and a myriad of electric devices as universal fitment. It is easy to tighten and hasn't easily come loose in the bottom of my travel backpack. The legs are stiff enough to keep the device securely attached, and do not sag over extended periods of use. The swivel head is quite stiff however, and quite a bit of force needs to be applied to make it move. This can prove a challenge, as that force commonly moves the legs too, leading to a complete reposition being required. Instead, I try and make all adjustments using the legs to avoid this issue. It is also worthwhile noting that any movement in the surface the GorrillaPod is placed on can cause some side-to-side sway. This is more noticeable since the projector is casting a large image on a wall, so small movements make a big difference. However the main issue I have experienced is legs popping off in my backpack. This doesn't happen often, but sometimes half of one of the legs (always the same one) unclips, leading to me having to hunt for it in the bottom of my bag. To rectify this, when not in use, I wrap the legs around each other, which seems to prevent this from happening as frequently.Overall I love my GorillaPod. Great for my needs, and looks quite cool too!

This will be my second mini Gorillapod-magnetic I've owned. The previous one survived a year of abuse before one of the joints cracked, resulting in one of the legs coming loose. Although that may be due to the fact i left it in the sun for too long which weakened the plastic. For £13.49 i think a year of use is good going! On the box it claims the tripod can hold a camera weighing up to 325g horizontally when attached to a metal surface. I tested this with a couple boxes of staples and a phone mount and it holds up well. Although I won't recommend going heavier than this as it didn't take much more for the tripod to become unstuck.Great for sticking your GoPro onto your car roof or door quickly for low speed rolling-videos or when taking time lapse shots.I find traditional tripods too bulky and slow to set-up. This having magnets means your camera won't budge when stuck onto a car roof during windy situations. When backpacking I can mount this onto gates, branches, chairs etc without the need for a bulky tripod.A great and versatile product overall and one I keep bring me every time I travel.

This tripod is 9cm in length when extended see picture and slightly less when in legs are angled out. It uses a standard 1/4 inch thread for attaching cameras or mounts. The legs are standard gorilla pod legs in which you can move around each segment at different angles though the legs are shorter the reach around benefit is less than those with longer legs. The feature of this tripod is the magnetic legs at the bottom of the tripod allowing you to mount to a lamp post or any metal surface. I use with an iPhone SE and a smartphone mount and the magnets are strong enough to hold it sideways or upsidedown. The best feature of the tripod is how compact it is and you can keep it in a small bag or your pocket.

I bought this to use with my point and shoot camera (which weighs 300 g) and I'm very pleased with this GorillaPod! I've used normal small tripods before but they don't quite do everything I want. This is excellent to use on almost any surface or attach it to something with its flexible legs. The magnets at the foot make it sturdy and can even attach to a metallic surface vertically. I have used it a lot during the first weekend I've had it and very much recommend it! Make sure you get the right size for your camera, if you have a bigger/heavier SLR or DSLR look to but the bigger GorillaPod (maybe 500 rather than this one 325).

Had this for a couple of weeks and am using it primarily with a Panasonic LX15 which weighs 310g. Have used it as a simple tripod on a solid surface, and using the legs to wrap around railings and fences. Even did a little time-lapse using it. Worked 100% of the time so far, the rubber surrounds of the 'knuckles' seem to grip things pretty well. Can also be used to add a little extra distance for hand held selfies, but note it's short so the effect is not like you get with a mobile on a selfie-stick (just so you know). Quite small and carry-able, and does what is says on the tin.

This worked exactly as I expected. It's sturdy and looks like it will take a battering.I know some people have complained it was tight or difficult to move. I haven't experienced this at all. The joints on the legs are as stiff as I'd expect them but any looser and you risk it not gripping onto things. The top ball is tighter but easy enough to move when you've got the camera mounted. All in all it does the job and feels strong enough to last a while.

Having read other reviews saying how difficult it is to move the ball head, I half expected it, but was still surprised at how difficult it was to even move it slightly. I wiped vaseline on the bit I could see, then really forced the ball head down and smeared vaseline at the top. It took some effort but now moves fairly easily. Holds my Sony hx90v quite happily

The tripod itself is fantastic and the accessories are really good. The only small issues I’d say about it is that it’s quite small. Maybe 10cm tall? Not a huge problem, you’d just expect it to be bigger.I also bought a separate phone holder to screw on to the tripod as the one that comes with it seems a bit flimsy for holding a €1000+ phone.

This little thing helped me make a bit of money through uni making and editing the odd photo or video for weddings or small companies. Obviously being a student you are on a budget and this is great for the price and is very sturdy in the wind and can easily wrap around a branch for a stable photo. Would highly recommend.

This is the perfect tripod for me and what i want to achieve with my performance compact digital camera. Im getting nice clear steady shots, and it is a vert versatile, compact tripod that you can adapt to various different shooting situations. Overall, this is a perfect tripod for on the go, compact travel photography.

Superb tripod, excellent value, with the only very slight let down being the lack of guide notes/explanation for two of the fittings supplied. However full marks for customer service, as when I emailed to ask about them there was an immediate response with illustrative pictures (they're for Go Pro cameras).

My husband wanted one of these to take time lapse photographs with his phone. It worked a treat! He used the gorillapod on a standing lamp - it gripped very well, didn't slip at all. Nice tidy little product too. Very happy with this. I shopped around for ages, and this one was the best value too.

I use this tripod for plenty of different things while travelling. Mostly, of course, to hold my camera in place, it is excellent to grasp around trees. When we travel with my wife, this little tripod is sturdy enough to hold a medium-sized camera as a selfie stick.

This item is brilliant. It came very quickly and in great condition. No excessive packaging either. It fits my Kodak Camera which I bought in the early 2000's and it's easy to handle and work. Thank you to the seller. I am very happy with this item.

The 'balls' make it tricky to get angles exactly right. It grips well but again with the balls moves a little bit to balance on them. Not great to balance on a flat surface where camera needs to be at a slight angle.
