Overall, the HyperX Cloud X Chat Headset provided an interesting mix up to my traditional gameplay. Having played Xbox for over 10 years, I know when a good product is right there in front of me. The most interesting aspect while playing was that my friends continuously mentioned a noticeable difference and that my voice was clearer and sharper than my previous headphones. Some friends even asked me exactly what brand headset I was using! Generally, I am a fan of double earphone headsets based on the type of games I normally play, so it took a little time to get used to using one headphone. Unfortunately, this headset didn’t give me the surround sound I normally play with and could at times become problematic due to not hearing enemy footsteps. The head piece itself was a bit uncomfortable at times due to me having a larger head, and, while the ear piece was cushioned which made it great, the plastic piece could have a higher quality cushion on that side to avoid it digging into my head. The hearing quality produced from the mic was about similar to other pairs of over-ear headphones I had used before. The directions were very clear, and I could easily understand how to begin using the product. The audio controls were incredibly easy to use, and I came to appreciate the easiness of it. My old headset had a button that you had to continuously tap to reach the desired volume level. I found it easier with the Hyperx headset, since with a scroll of the volume button I could adjust it to the perfect volume. I did find myself wishing that the scroll wheel was a little larger and that it was in a different color to make it a little easier to find, but I didn’t find it to be a deal breaker. I also appreciated the ability to mute the microphone on the headset, and that allowed me to be able to have conversations with other present individuals without my teammates hearing as well. My favorite quality of the headset is the connectivity from the wire, which was fantastic! The dual headphone I used all the time did have the tendency to experience a lack of connectivity and would sometimes become disconnected with ease. During my use of the product, I was excited to find that I did not encounter this issue at all. I enjoyed the feeling that no matter if I lifted my arms with the controller in my hand that the connectivity would always be there. As a whole, these headphones are a wonderful addition and will definitely continue to use them all the time, and I might even look into buying other headphones from HyperX. I would definitely recommend this headset to anyone considering a new gaming headset. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The Cloud Chat series of gaming headsets by HyperX offer crystal-clear voice comms with no frills at an entry level price point for Xbox One/PS4/PC/Mobile etc. This particular version is officially licenced for Xbox One, but will also work with PS4 or PC (there is also an officially licenced PS4 version available that has blue accents instead of green). The headset features a mono over-the-ear open-back design to let audio from your speakers pass through, & connects via a gold plated 3.5mm headphone jack to your game console controller or device. The headset uses a 40mm driver with a low impedance of 16 ohms that offers a frequency response of 50Hz - 10kHz.The microphone is an electret condenser microphone that has a Bi-directional polar pattern and captures frequencies of 50Hz - 18kHz. In a nutshell, the specifications provide great quality audio not only for voice chat but its usable for game audio/music in a pinch if required. In terms of comfort, the headset is lightweight weighing only 123 grams and. The earcup has a slight degree of swivel adjustment, so it can fit around your head more comfortably, and has a soft padded mesh-fabric cushion that feels nice over your ear. The headband is extendable to fit different head sizes, but it unfortunately uses a cheap dense foam material for cushioning, which works but is not as comfortable as the earcup material itself. I wish they used the padded mesh fabric cushion for the headband as it would have made the headset more comfortable. The foam is fine on the headband, but feels more noticeable on the side of your head. The headset has a flexible metal boom arm and foam pop shield for the microphone which makes this headset ambidextrous, you can wear it on either side that’s preferred and the microphone can be positioned near your mouth. The headset has a 1.3m cable with an in-line volume wheel and physical microphone mute switch.Overall, at such a low price point this entry level headset offers functionality and quality that exceed my expectations. Whilst it’s not going to be as fancy as other types of headsets, if you only require something basic to provide high-quality voice comms you can’t go far wrong. For the people who require a headset such as this one I think its very good. It comes in a nicely presented box and requires the two pieces that make up the headset to be clicked together. The headset features a 1.3m cable with a 3.5mm connector for your PlayStation, an in-line control for the microphone and volume, and an adjustable head strap with some padding attached. The headset is comfortable to wear with the speaker side having a soft mesh fabric cup and the other side featuring a slightly squishy pad to rest above your ear. I found extending the adjustable strap decreases the pressure that the pad applies above your ear which enables you to wear the headset for longer sessions without any discomfort,it was a bit too tight for me without adjusting it so I’m glad they let you do this. The speaker side is very comfortable and being mesh it doesn’t get sticky or sweaty when worn for a longer time.Sound quality is good, but you can tell these have been tuned more for vocals, so they work much better when used for voice chatting. The microphone also works great and playing GTA and Battlefield my friends could hear me perfectly clear although it does pick up some background noise so it’s not truly noise-cancelling, but it does a good job.Overall, if you’re in the market for a headset with one speaker then this could be a good choice for you. I found it comfortable to wear and had no complaints from anyone when going online with it. Around £20 isn’t too bad as it is an officially licensed product and you get a 2-year warranty with it for a bit of peace of mind. I’m happy to recommend it and I feel its worth four stars.

Out of the box you get 2 parts that you have to simply push together, once this is done you have a pretty bog standard console headset. This one is branded to PlayStation, but do not be fooled, it WILL also work on Xbox One X (yes there is an Xbox version, just with green not blue, same headset), PC's and tablets. It has one mono headphone speaker with basic foam padding, a directional basic mic and volume control including a mute switch for the mic.As far as headsets go this is pretty basic but does the job without any issues. I have 3 pairs of headsets two of which are leading brands and they are superb. This headset is not in their league, but they are surround sound and higher end.The sound is good for one speaker, the mic (I am told) sounds a lot different to my usual headset when playing online. I don't know, as I can't hear myself! The headset sits quite nice, can be worn either way (just turn round for ear preference) and the mic bends every way you want. The cable linking your headset to your controller is over a metre (1.3m) so you have enough give, but it is not a tough anti tangle fabric wire like my others, which I oddly prefer.Overall I fully recommend this headset if you are endlessly replacing them if broken and you want a good reliable one.

Overall a decent headset if you are looking for something to chat online with. The ear cup is soft and comfortable and the headset overall has a basic enough but solid feel and build quality. Hyper X durability has always been great for me and their customer service is always excellent. The mic quality is completely fine, much better than the standard Xbox headset that used to come bundled along with their consoles. The sound quality is basic, no real bass but the sound is clear enough to make out the game that you are playing.Overall it is a fine headset for online voice chat and I would recommend it for somebody that chats online quite a bit and doesn't want to completely be immersed in their games. The single ear cup is a strange concept but on the plus side it lets you head around you.If you have found my review helpful feel free to click the helpful button below, it helps me out greatly, thank you!

I prefer single headed over dual headed headsets as you have a free ear which allows you to switch game audio to your main speakers and direct chat audio to the headset only. This is particularly useful on console and compatible with this headset. The headset is comfortable and fits well over the ears, it adjusts appropriately and allows for comfortable extended periods of use. The fit is not tight or loose and feels snug, this is aided by the single ear cup which has more flexibility in the angle of use.The sound is average, there's nothing that particularly stands out. It's ideal for chat audio but falls short of providing solid game audio, which it is not designed for anyway. The mic is great,it has a sensitive pop mic which accurately filters out sounds and delivers crisp and clean audio with the help of noise cancellation. There are in line controls to turn volume up/down and the mic on/off.

This is a good headset that has a single ear headset and an adjustable mic, this makes it ideal for gaming. The headset is comfy to wear and fits over the ear well. This headset is good for chatting and the mic was clear, the person I was talking to thought it sounded good on their end. It has some room for adjustment and holds position well. There is an option of switching the mic off and this is on the inline adjuster, this also holds the volume control wheel. This has an Official PS4 License, it also works with other devices. I used it on my PC and also tried it on my laptop for skyping as well. This is a good headset for chatting as well as gaming.Overall I am very happy with this set,it is comfy and is a plug and play device. It feels quite robust and well made. I cannot comment on the price as it was not available at the time of writing my review. I would recommend it.

HyperX HX-HSCCHX-BK/WW Cloud Chat - Gaming Headset for Xbox is OK for the price range for those interested in getting into group game playing but don’t want to spend a large amount of money on headsets in case they don’t like it.Not comfortable enough for prolonged game play and would recommend if you are going to play for several hours you invest in duel ear stereo set as I found the one ear rather uncomfortable and annoying after an hour.Sound quality is what you would expect a sub £15 headset, nothing great but again good enough if you are looking to test the water of online group game playing.Note the standard 3.5mm jack will not connect to the wireless Xbox controls only the cabledcontrollersGood set for anyone wanting to try out on line group gaming for the first time before investing in higher quality set for those prolonged gaming sessions

I've seen this advertised for £20 which is a really good deal. To find an official Licenced product for this price is great. Now I'm usually immersed in my Dolby surround, hear em coming from all directions headset but that's another level and cannot be compared. If you require this type of headset and it's on your watch list then be confident that it'll perform perfectly well. It's not overly comfortable for hours of play but then you can spin it around to ease that issue. Mono sound but reasonably good and I can be heard clearly which is more than I can say for some of my friends more expensive headsets. The construction is good and well worthy of the price. If you want to hear when the other half arrives home, this is also a good idea ?

This is a nice, if basic gaming headset. It is a wired mono version connecting via a 3.5mm headphone jack - the volume etc contols are inline on a module on the cable. These are a bit better quality than some I've tried in the past, the over ear cushion is reasonably well padded and comfortable and the headband stays put securely. It's nice and adjustable too.The microphone works pretty well for in-game chat purposes. This is a middle of the road good all rounder. I think that personally I still favour stereo headsets - but sometimes you need to game with some real life situational awareness - and these are ideal for that. After all,you sometimes need an ear comfortably uncovered to hear the doorbell for the pizza delivery!

I bought the HyperX CloudX Chat Headset for Xbox to use when i am gaming on Xbox. The CloudX chat headset is very easy to use. This particular headset only has one side for the headphone but is interchangeable and can be used on either ear. The headset is very comfortable and does not hurt your ear. The sound quality is excellent. The microphone is in a great position and other gamers you are playing with can hear you very clearly. This headset allows you to hear other players while listening to the game with the ear that is not covered by the headset. I am very happy with my HyperX CloudX Chat Headset for Xbox. I plan on buying some as gifts.[This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This is the first single earpiece unit that I have tried. It took a little bit of getting used to as obviously you only get mono sound in one ear, but after w while it becomes second nature. The big plus is that it leaves you more aware of other sounds around you whilst using it. So much harder for family members to surprise you when you are gaming. Despite being tagged as an XBox item this works with any piece of audio equipment that has a 3.5mm jack (I've used it with my mobile phone and laptop as well). the microphone stalk is bendy and positionable to allow the headset to cover either ear. Sound quality is good - obviously not as good as a two-ear stereo experience but perfectlyacceptable.

Another headset to add to my sons collection but can’t see this one being used a lot as it looks basic compared to his other headsets and such a low price. This is a officially PS4 hyperX cloud chat headset - it does what it says on the box and you pay for what you get.A great starter headset but just not what my son is looking for.It comes with flexible noise cancellation mic which is ok but my son did say it’s not as clear as his other ones, it’s really easy and simple to use great for a beginners. It’s very lightweight and comfy with its single ear cup.
