"Reluctantly" had to revert to an electric mower due to shoulder injury which made the petrol/mower pull start extremely difficult. Apart from the obvious (care with the power line) this is one excellent mower, my lawn has improved since the use of it, and the seven height options are great.It is not a lightweight one which I purposely chose not to have they never give a good cut, it is well worth the effort of having the weight to get that better cut, and part of that weight is the roller which will always be a benefit, I have had friends and family remark how good my lawns look have 4 in total.One request would go to Hayter......... my old petrol mower when bought had the choice of Push or Self-Drive,

This is a great quality machine, it is very heavy and cuts well with stripes from rear roller. I have a small garden ( 16m x 10m ) and find that perhaps it is more suited to a larger garden as the manouverabilty is a bit restrictive in a small area. The collection bag is easy to attach and empty. This machine is more or less ready to go from the large box it arrived in, you just have to fold back the handle and tighten the wing nuts to secure - this is also a great feature for storing. There is only one real criticism I have about this machine and that is the cutting heights, the machine height is easily adjustable with a single lever operation but the lowest setting is scalp and the next setting up just seems a bit to high for me,

Ummed and ahhhed over many different models for months and whether to go petrol, electric, rechargeable, the list was endless. In the end plumped for this beauty as I believe you generally get what you pay for. At £230 it was a £80 more than others on my sort list but I thought it might be worth it. The reviews everywhere were awesome and Hayter make LONG lasting quality machines. Upon first use I could not believe the quality of cut, it looked like I had gone round the lawn with hairdressing scissors and a setsquare. It's very quiet, has a decent weight roller for brilliant stripes (the others had basically TOY rollers with no real weight to speak of)If you're considering getting one just do

To make it work, push the blue button on the side of the handle before you pull the activation lever. Also once the motor is running it won't start cutting the grass. The blades seems to turn without actually cutting. In order to make it cut the grass you need to tilt it back on the rear wheels slightly. The grass bag inflates slightly and at that point, put it flat on the grass and it will start cutting. It does make stripes on the lawn but not very distinct ones. I guess you need a far heavier mower to have proper stripes.

I looked at different mowers and from what I saw this was by far the best built of them all. The height adjustment lever is something that I will use regular and this again was solidly designed, the mower is quiet , the machine is a little on the heavy side but will last and it cuts grass very well leaving an excellent finish, if this is important to you, buy one, if not buy a cheap little plastic one.

The first one sent was faulty and the 30 days return date had gone due to holidays By using the on line chat it was quickly resolved and the faulty one was collected the next dat and a new one delivered It is cutting the lawn perfectly!!! This was the first time I had to replace an item and I found it an easy process. Well done amazon for being professional

Having struggled with cutting rye grass with my cylinder mower, I have reverted to a rotary mower and am exceptionally pleased with this Hayter model. It was boxed completely assembled apart from the grass box and the height adjustment is so simple. Cuts well to edges and compresses a huge amount of grass in the bag. Well designed and looks good!

Bought to replace an old electric Hayter. When I opened the box, one of the handlebar screws was missing. Fortunately, a local supplier was able to help with a replacement. Machine works fine and cuts grass well. I'm satisfied with my purchase

My new Hayter lawn mower arrived extremeley well packed. The instructions were easy to follow and I was soon mowing the grass. Extremely happy with this quality product which is now repacked ready for action next year.

I had owned one of these before and wanted a new one as I gave my old one to a friend. I would thoroughly recommend this mower.
