Purchased this drive to use via Thunderbolt with a Late 2012 Mac Mini i7. The Mac mini is Thunderbolt 1 which is what this drive is, so no point buying a more expensive Thunderbolt 2 drive. Wanted to use Thunderbolt as I'm moving my large Photos Library to an external device to be shared with a MacBook Pro Retina Late 2103 when required.Given the age of the Mini, MacBook and this G-Technology HD, the price of this HD hit that sweet spot for me. Performance is as expected. Very happy so far with this purchase.
