I have used all sorts of drives in the past and the big problem is that the cooling fans in them make so much noise when you are trying to do sound mixes on an edit. I therefore search around and found the G-Technology G-DRIVE 10 TB with USB-C which does not have fans in. They are not the fastest drives in the world but are perfect for storage of all my edits and backUps of them........and no noise. I love them. Dave Knowles - Filmmaker (DaveKnowles.net)P.S. I bought this for use with my 15" MacBook Pro which has USB C ports. I was previously using a USB 2 drive with a USB adaptor. This drive is much faster and very quiet although it does always need to use the supplied mains adaptor as it's presumably consuming too much to power to run just on a USB port alone. The bonus is that it also appears to charge the MacBook too, which I wasn't expecting. Well made, solid construction.
