I can't tell if this shampoo actually does what it says. After using it to wash my hair I did feel my hair was thicker and more voluminous, but my partner thought it looked the same.So either he's not as 'in tune' with my hair as I am, or it's a placebo effect.Either way, the shampoo has more to offer than just the claim of thickening hair. By no means do I have fine limp hair, so really this shampoo wasn't meant for me, but I couldn't turn down the idea of making my already quite full mane thicker. My hair is quite fine, but there is a lot of it, and it is long. I mean half way down your back long and dreaming of it being longer still.Anyway, to the shampoo.I just thought a bit of context as to my pre-fudge washed shampoo may help you decide if it's right for you.It has a very strong smell, and one I don't imagine will be everybody's cup of tea. Personally, I loved it but i'm sure some people might find it overpowering.I washed my hair the same way I always do, wash, condition, leave in towel for 2-3 hours and then let air dry. My hair is so soft! I've been looking for a way to reduce the amount of tangle i get at the back of my head, and this shampoo has helped me so much. I can brush my hair in the morning and it will make it through most of the day without worrying about a matted monstrosity forming behind my head.I will continue to use this shampoo as it's the best one i've tried other than the mega expensive ones, but for a shampoo above standard price this is one of the best, affordable shampoos i have used.

Edit - I've continued to use this product over the last 5 months and I have to say, it's really grown on me and has become one of my favourites to use. It just took some time to make the transition and get my hair used to it.I enjoy testing out new shampoos and before I had even delved into this one, I read the back of the bottle. To achieve the desired volumised look, it says I have to use the partnering conditioner as well, which I've been lucky enough to get hold of. However, I noticed if I wanted 'double the bounce', I would have to use the xpander foam as well, which is more expense on top. The scent is lovely and almost has a floral hint to it. It's also thick and slightly sticky when massaged between my fingers.The pump is slow to return to its normal position. I used four and a half pumps to get an even lather on my long hair. It washes off easily and feels a little softer than before washed, however I couldn't find any scent left in the hair after rinsing.As I don't put conditioner on my roots, I could leave this to test for a scent once it was dry. Unfortunately, there was nothing. On the positive side, there is a lovely shine to my hair and the frizz is well under control, which I found impressive for my hair, especially on wash day.

Wow - apologies in advance for how excited I am about a shampoo but this is incredible! Firstly don’t be scared off by the price - the 1000ml bottle is huge and comes with a big pump on it so it’s easy to use at home or in a salon.My hair is very long and flat except a few random cows licks at the front which I can’t get rid of no matter what products and tools I use. Well this shampoo has changed that - I’ve only used it for the first time this morning in conjunction with their same version of conditioner and wow - my hair feels like it’s literally twice as thick, it’s got a bounce to it and the random cows licks blend in with the rest of my hair and all of a sudden don’t seem to bother me anymore?I know my hairdresser uses fudge products and always wondered how she got my hair to look so good when she just rough dried it like I do and now I know! I feel I’ve stumbled on our hairdressers secret weapon! The only things I can try to give some objective criticism on is that obviously it’s still using a fair bit of plastic on the bottle which isn’t ideal and the smell could be stronger as it has a nice scent but it’s very subtle.Overall though it’s fair to say I’m absolutely thrilled with this and would definitely recommend it!!

The shampoo arrived safely with no leaks or damage to the bottle.The wife is a brunette and I have blonde hair, so this shampoo works perfectly for both of us and I’m happy to use it as it’s got a pleasant neutral scent that isn’t too strong. The wife seems to love it and now wants to try the conditioner. We both agree it’s made our hair thicker than normal and its definitely made it easier to style, especially for me with the brand of matte hair cream I use.The 1 litre pump bottle is large but tall, so it doesn’t take up too much space. One pump dispenses just the right amount for us, others with longer hair might need a little more but it produces a good amount of foam and spreads really well.Overall,you can tell this is a good quality shampoo, it promises denser hair and it delivers in our opinion. We have both been very happy using it and its very noticeable at how easier it is to style your hair afterwards. Good value for money and the 1 litre should last for a decent amount of time, a firm recommendation from us and we feel its worth the full five stars!

I love Fudge products. My hairdresser uses their products in the salon and that's how I heard of them. I use the Fudge purple shampoo and conditioner once a week and have very fine, thin hair so this Xpander range is the perfect interim range.Pros:• Smells lovely. My partner even commented that my hair smelt different• Don't have to use much, it's very thick and lathers nicely• The claims of 80% stronger are hard to validate but my hair does seem to be breaking less with straightening• Hair feels fairly bouncy at the roots - this was noticeable after one wash• Even on the "greasier days" between washes, my hair feels and looks less limpCons:• None - I think I'm sold on this range!So I'd say this shampoo stands by the same quality as other Fudge products I've used.It is more expensive than your store-bought hair product, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for the price at all. I won't use any other brand now - my fine, lacklustre hair loves it, doesn't get weighed down and is so much healthier. I'm definitely sold!

I ordered this 250ml tube of Xpander Shampoo from the well know brand Fudge as I have thinning hair due to medication. This product claims that it increases hair strength by 80% so I thought it might have a positive effect on my hair. The shampoo has a delicious scent and contains caffeine and ginseng. As the product is sulphate free it does not produce a lot of foam but I find that if I first use a small amount to wash my hair, then rinse and apply a further small amount of the shampoo that the second time you get a nice foam. They scent is really gorgeous and after I have dried my hair I can still smell the aroma from the product.I also dye my hair and this shampoo “locks colour for 30 washes” which is fantastic.I have been using this shampoo for over 3 weeks now and when blow drying my hair I do feel that my hair is feeling thicker and not so fragile. I definitely notice more volume in my hair once it is dried and I have been wearing my long hair down a lot more since using this shampoo as I feel my hair looks shinier too.

I have already used Fudge volumising conditioner with my regular Fudge shampoo, and have been extremely pleased with the results, so when this big 1 litre pump dispenser of their volumising shampoo was offered to me, it made perfect sense to use the two products in conjunction with each other.The results are really excellent. My hair has significantly more volume, and not only feels softer, but really shines, and stays cleaner for longer too. All Fudge products seem to be kind to dyed hair, and don't affect the colour at all.This big 1 litre bottle is going to last me for ages, because you don't need much, and it is really easy to dispense via the pump nozzle.Price wise, this works out at just over £2 for 100ml,which is a bargain for a salon grade product like this. In fact it was my hairdresser that recommended Fudge products to me.Needless to say that if a product is recommended by a professional, then it must be good. I certainly haven't been disappointed.

This is a good quality shampoo that makes my hair feel smoother. I naturally have curly hair so I do not need to add much volume with hair products. However, this shampoo increased the volume of my hair slightly (used together with the conditioner).The texture is thick but it spreads nicely on the hair.Personally, I think that the smell is really good. It reminds me of flowers and does not feel chemical to me. This smell definitely makes my showering experience more enjoyable. However, the smell does not stay in the hair after the wash.The pomp makes it easy to use this shampoo but it takes time for it to return to the original position after pressing which can be irritating for long hair (I usually press 3-4 times for mine).Overall,my hair looks healthy and a little bigger (in terms of volume) after using this shampoo with matching conditioner. It is easy to use and has a nice smell. Good product!

Okay, color me slightly surprised by this item. I have used thickening shampoos and other products before. Mostly as my own hair is like stray to be honest and very dry so can appear thin too. I was surprised when I used this in conjunction with the conditioner in the range, well it actually worked! My hair did feel much thicker, though still slightly in the dry side, but thats due to my own hair now. running my hand through my hair did feel like there was more volume in it which felt great. It foams up in the hand relatively easily also which is nice.Price wise, £20 upfront is a fair bit, but this is 1 litre! that's a fair bit to be honest and if just 1-2 people using it, will last a fair while I expect!Downside for me is the smell to be honest. It does smell of chemicals more then anything, but I may be comparing from a unfair baseline as I have been using hair masks / hair food which smell divine.

This shampoo has very modern packaging, pretty colours and fancy look.The scent is great, not overpowering though. I wouldn't mind if the scent was stronger :)Shampoo have thicker, smooth, clear consistency and lather really well.After wash, I used conditioner on ends of my hair to make my hair easier to brush.When I dried my hair I realized that hair gained volume.. I cant believe it..This shampoo would help ladies with fine, dull hair.. it boosts the texture, hair look thicker, soft and, fuller.I used 3 times now, and after first use I noticed that my scalp started to itch a bit and flakes appeared.. With another 2 washes was better,no visible flakes.I like this shampoo especially the fact that my hair look healthier and thicker.£9 for 250ml bottle is a bit on high but if we achieve wanted total effects it's good to spend few more pounds and be happy with out hair look.

I have used a few different products from Fudge now and each one has been spot on, and this one is my new favourite!I have fine hair that needs some lots of extra help to give it some body and texture.This works a treat, my hair is noticeably thicker, my hair has so much more texture making styling it a lot easier. It's not just about the body on top either the ends of my hair feel just as thick as the bulkier mid section of my hair rather then being straggly.I've also tested its metal by curling my hair, this never goes well for me unless i drown my hair in hairspray. I found my hair now stays curly, with little to no product for much longer.It also smells great, an added bonus.Can't speak more highly about it,it bring life to my lifeless hair, smell amazing and saves me lots time that i used to spend attempting to style my hair.

I don't have very fine hair but I have noticed a lot of thinning as I have reached middle age, so I wanted to try this shampoo. My first impressions were th e packaging looks great and the scent is very nice.I followed the instructions and really worked this into my scalp. I think because this contains caffeine and ginseng, it will stimulate the hair follicles and promote new and thicker hair growth so with long term use this could lead to thicker hair.After one use, I was very impressed with the immediate effect. My hair looked much fuller at the roots and bouncy. This shampoo also left my hair feeling very clean and lightweight, not weighed down at all,so it would be great for very fine hair.Overall this shampoo is really good for adding bounce and volume whilst also leaving hair soft and healthy.I hope you find this helpful.

This Fudge Professional Xpander Volumising 250ml Shampoo is truly amazing, used with the Fudge Whip Xpander conditioner I am so impressed by it. They both have Opti-Plex fibres in that bond to the hair making it stronger and feel thicker, not hype either they genuinely make your hair feel and look thicker with more volume I am super delighted, the shampoo is a clear gel that lathers up easily and smells gorgeous, the scent is light and fruity and seems to last in my hair all day. I absolutely recommend this Fudge shampoo combined with the Xpander conditioner, my hubby is using them too and is blown away by the difference it’s made to his very thin hair, even after the first use,it’s amazing at making hair feel noticeably thicker. I am a huge. fudge fan usually of their clean blonde shampoo's and conditioners.As expected from fudge products the beautiful scent left on my hair is delightful, 1 that I can't actually identify other than it's lovely and lingers for a day or 2 even after blowdrying.Iwas finding my hair rather flat on top after havign it tied back all day for work so wanted something to give my hair a lift add a bit of body to it without the need for a heavy back comb or rollers and I certainiy found it in fudge volumiser shampoo and the resuts lasted 2 days whic is fantastic.Not sure if the results would last any longer as I have to wash my hair every 2 days due to greasy roots.As allof the fudge rangeexcellent value for money and this will become a favourite shampoo especialyfor when we are allowed out again to sociaise

I've always been a fan of Fudge and have used a number of their products for styling for close to twenty years. They're not the cheapest, and they're also not designed to be.I don't know what it is about shampoo, but, in one bedtime wash - I like to sleep with damp hair sometimes, which befits the style I'm going for the next day, plus it gives my hair a break from heat styling. I've woken the following morning with hair that's got it's useful 'oomph' back overnight!It not only looks voluminous, but feels it too; and I hadn't even heat styled it.It has a pretty good salon-finished subtle, yet fragrant smell about it, that lingered for two days.I used it in conjunction with the conditioner from the same range,which, in itself, has left me with enviable out-of-bed knot-free tresses.
