Today I am reviewing the Professional Purple Toning Shampoo from Fudge; I would love to share some of my thoughts with you.Firstly, I think it would help you know a little about me as the reviewer; I am a 57-year-old salon chain owner.I am familiar with Purple Shampoos but had not tried the Fudge version, so I was super excited to try the Professional Purple Toning Shampoo from Fudge.The Purple Toning Shampoo from Fudge is a sulfate-free shampoo designed to remove brassy yellow tones from blonde hair.I massaged the shampoo through my hair from roots to tips; I particularly like that the shampoo's consistency is thick,so it coated my hair and stayed put whilst I left it to soak in.I am impressed with the Purple Toning Shampoo from Fudge; it took the brassy yellow tones out of my highlights and made it look so much fresher; this is an impressive toner.The first thing that is quite noticeable is the colour and pigmentation. The shampoo is exceedingly purple; for this reason, I chose to wear gloves. It will stain your hands and cuticles, especially if, like me, you have gel nails.If I had to be critical, it would be that the Purple Toning Shampoo from Fudge leaves my hair very dry, so I made sure to use a good conditioner afterwards.Unsure of the results, I decided to work my way into the shampoo, so I only kept it on for about three minutes with the first wash. I noticed a difference after the first use of this shampoo; I was so happy. The more you use the Purple Toning Shampoo from Fudge, the more brassy yellow tones it takes out.I tend to use it once a week to keep my hair looking on point but of course, depending on how much toning you would like to do, you could either leave it on for longer or use it more frequently.When writing this review in February 2021, the Professional Purple Toning Shampoo from Fudge is £11.05 for a 250ml bottle and is available on Prime offering FREE One-Day delivery.

I’ve tried quite a few purple toning shampoos whilst I’ve been growing out my natural grey hair just over three years ago, some good some not so. This Fudge Professional Purple Toning Shampoo does indeed tone down not only yellow but the dreaded ‘blorange’ even after one use. It’s big tube holding 250 ml so lasts ages. If you haven’t used purple toning shampoos you do need to use disposable gloves or your hands and nails will stain for a while, especially with salon strength purple toner like this Fudge one. Wash hair first with a regular shampoo then apply the purple toner in wet hair, massage into the hair all over (or just on the ends if growing out old blonde) leave for a maximum of five minutes and rinse.This toner also contains opti-plex technology that makes hair stronger by getting into each hair cuticle adding strength sealing shut each cuticle as it goes. I have mostly grey hair, with around two to three inches of old ‘blorange’ left in the ends. This purple shampoo has definitely toned these ends more ashy blending much better with my grey hair (I have long one length hair). My natural grey looks better too, less yellowed from the sun and more silver. It’s also perfect for blending in blonde to growing out silver roots. It’s not the cheapest purple toner shampoo but it is one of the best. It smells lovely too and doesn’t dry out your hair, especially good with delicate natural silver hair or over bleached blonde. I wouldn’t recommend using it on dry hair as it’s runny and will stain clothes or carpets, stick with Fudge’s instructions and use on wet hair for a maximum of five minutes. Toners are buildable over time from each use, they’re not instant, so don’t worry if you don’t see a dramatic difference, it will build up and look fab.

I’ve used a cheap purple shampoo before and quite frankly it was a waste of money so I was a little sceptical about this one.The instructions state to leave it for up to 5 minutes so I erred on the side of caution and went for a couple of minutes on first use, just in case.The shampoo is fairly runny but it lathered up well and didn’t run down my face when I pilled it onto my head to wait for any effect.I noticed that it turned my nails and cuticles purple but this wore off by the time I’d finished my shower.It smells lovely and the scent lingered on in my hair after drying, which makes a change.It didn’t make lots of difference but I could tell my highlights had less of a yellow tinge but mydarker roots did look slightly purple.I’m going to try for the full 5 minutes next time as I quite like the idea of a touch of purple and I can’t go to the hairdresser as we’ve just entered the second lockdown.It’s definitely better than Provoke but doesn’t quite deliver as gd as the before and after photos suggest.I’ll update my review when I get a chance to use it a couple more times.Hope you found my review helpful

My adult Daughter has fully dyed long blonde hair and is always looking for the best shampoos to keep her hair looking shiny and fresh without damaging the colour of her hair. She found this shampoo very easy to use although as it is sulfate free she sometimes finds she needs to wash her hair twice with this product. She absolutely loves the fragrance and I can smell it on her hair when she stands close to me. She is very happy with this hair shampoo as she says it really gives her hair a deep clean and she likes the way her hair feels after she has dried it.She does feel that it brightens up her blonde hair and says she will continue to use this product and purchase some herself when the tube runs out.

I have a colour and cut every six to eight weeks and I absolutely hate it when my hair starts to go yellow. I have tried every single blonde damage shampoos that are on the market with little success until I tried this one by FUDGE.The result was amazing, all my brassy tones have gone and my hair seems to have taken on a ashy grey hue which I absolutely love. I would not recommend leaving on for a full five minutes as I think if you do it will give a purple tint as it is very powerful. I wash my hair every two days as it is still greasy even at my age. I think if this shampoo is used every four or five washes that will be enough to keep your hair brassy free.This is a top quality product and I love it and recommend as it is the best shampoo I have used and the scent is lovely too. My hair feels squeaky clean after using also. A well deserved five stars.

So I highly highly recommend you not to leave this on for too long unless you really do want to join the blue rinse gang.It does help you get the brassy yellow out of your hair but I would say max 3-4 mins leaving it on for.Does leave your hair in lovely condition with shine and texture.But with my dad's case pmsl. He had pure white hair. Well he did have pmsl. We told him it was leave in stuff. And he left it in for 15mins b4 we told him you better go have a shower.....He now looks like a purple people water... Lol.. I have never laughed so much in my life. He hit the wall and said good job we in lockdown lolOmg. (I will try and add a photo)But I do recommend it used for the correct amount of time.Because you do see a difference on how much it improves the look and feel of your hair...

I was initially quite surprised at the depth of colour of this shampoo. It is VERY purple. More purple than any other toning shampoo I have ever used. It is thick enough, lathers well and has a pleasant scent. The first time I used it I had a bit of a shock as everything seemed to turn purple including my hands and fingernails! I panicked and jumped out the shower to check the colour of my hair. It looked normal. However, my nails remained slightly purple through the following day.The results of the shampoo were very good. My hair took on a gold/platinum shade without brassiness. I used the conditioner which is a much creamier tone and consistency. My hair was left soft and glossy and bright gold (luckily no sign of blue).Unusually, I even received compliments.

I usually use the Provoke range as it’s curly girl friendly which this isn’t but my colour is desperately in need of a top up and had gone very “yellowy” which really doesn’t suit my colouring. I used this to shampoo and left it on for 5 minutes. This was more than enough time for my hair as I have grey roots and I didn’t want them turning purple which happens if I use it on them and for longer than 5 mins. Word of warning-make sure you take off the silver seal which is under the lid before you go in the shower as it’s quite hard to remove once you’re in there!!Overall I’m really pleased with the results which are a subtle ash tone.But ofcourse the longer the product is left on the more dramatic tour results will be so it’s up to you!

I have waist length grey hair. Grey hair is very porous and soaks up all of the pollutants from the environment so it takes a lot of taking care of.I normally use Touch of Silver, but i am going to switch to this permenently. It was lovely on my hair, covered well, i left it on for 5 minutes and washed off. It removed the yellowy tinge out of my hair. You do have to be careful with purple shampoo though so i only it once a week as too much will leave purpley tones in your hair.It left my hair soft and shiny and smelling lovely with no residue. Am definitely buying this again.One final thing, be very careful with this because if you drop any on shower curtains/floors etc and are not quick enoughto wash it off it will stain.

Having recently had my hair highlighted, I obviously wanted to avoid it looking brassy, this shampoo certainly helps. I use it twice a week filling in with a slightly cheap product in between, my hair has been highlighted for about 3 months now and so far it’s next gone that awful brassy colour.I have in the past highlighted my hair and it went brassy then so I was keen to find a product that would work, for what it costs it’s certainly worth the money, I will definitely burly this again, you will find you only need small amount of the shampoo, the only one thing I found was, it’s clearly a strong shampoo as it tend to make my nail taken on a purple tint but then I counter act that with nailvarnish

The Fudge professional toning shampoo has a clean fragrance smell. The shampoo is a dark purple in colour, And it does exactly as it describes by removing the brassy tones from your hair. The only thing I can advise is be a little more resourceful compared to the normal amount of shampoo that you would use. My mum has a medium bob length hairstyle, And she used an amount of about the size of a 50 pence piece cupped in her hand. She washed her hair and rinsed it straight away, And it removed her brassy tones turning them into a silvery tone. The hair had a shine and felt very soft to the touch when washed. Overall very satisfied with this product and would happily recommend.

Fudge Professional Clean Blonde Damage Rewind Shampoo is a dual-force shampoo that is perfect for blonde hair. It is formulated with Fudge’s max-strength violet micro-pigments that instantly knock out brassy tones.Must have for anyone who died their hair blond.Just 5 minutes on the hair is enough to get ashy tones in the hair. When I want it blonder, rather than ashy I mix it with the normal shampoo (50/50)Remember to use gloves not to stain your hands and nails!I love that it comes in tube packaging as it makes it very easy for you to dispense the product, especially when you're getting towards the end of the bottle.Definitely recommended!

Always use Fudge products for keeping blondes bright and not yellow. This is the newer version with an added protector. Smells lovely and does exactly what it says on the label - keeps blondes white and tones down brassy yellow blondes.Be careful though especially if you leave it on longer than instructed and used on neat hair - Expect your hair to turn slightly lilac in colour! Don't panic, this will wash out after 1 or 2 washes. It can stain hands, nails, bath and showers etc so be mindful and wash down as soon as you've finished using.All in all a really good product.

Love it !!! I did a total bleach job on my hair knew it would go yellow but had to try !!! Bought this after the inevitable yellow turnout and boom..... one wash left it in longer than I should....20 mins....but omg !!! So good... brassy yellows reduced hugely.... and although I have some purple tinge to it (left on too long ) so my fault but I love it... looks ash blonde and bright and healthy xxx I have spent lots of money on purple shampoos over the years on different budgets some way more than this... this is my new go to shampoo without fail.... Buy it !!!

Only brand i use as a hairdresser You can tell difference just after one useId say wet u hair slightly with hands then put it on itll feel thick and look dark thats great leave it 5 mins then lather rinse u can lather half way through too make sure all covered itll give great violet tone or whitwr tone depending colour hair if you dont like just use your blonde shampoo i use fir dumb blondes by bed hed that rinses through taking violet tone away but leaving it light and smelling great use it with the matching conditioner and youve got great ask results
