I've been using Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky's for a good number of years now, but I won't talk about the strings in terms of gauge here as I assume you'll have already some experience with what strings you like before looking at these. This particular line of strings claim to decrease string breakage, hold tuning and resist wear more than a regular set, and it's safe to say this is exactly what they do.After 3 months of daily playing I'm about due a new set, which as far as longevity goes is fantastic. I have these strings set up on a MIM Fender Telecaster Deluxe 72 reissue complete with a graph-tec nut and string-saver saddles,so I can't put it all down to the strings as to why I've not broken any (in all honesty I rarely break a string and if you've not got a well cut and lubed nut all the will in the world won't keep you in tune), but these strings will take an absolute hammering and maintain their freshness and tone twice as long as a regular set. I can play for a good 30-60 minutes without having to adjust my tuning, which I put down to a combo of the strings and the graph-tec nut. As with any set of strings, washing your hands prior to playing will prolong the life of these strings considerably. All in all, definitely worth the extra cash since you'll be changing sets far less often, but don't go expecting miracles. It's still just wound metal at the end of the day!

Oh dude, seriously, like, these strings man. Wow!! Like, they're way awesome. I thought my super ski kids were sweet but these are like, way totally bogus. They have like, titanium in them and stuff. How cool is that bro?!? I mean, titanium, like what tony Starks suit is made from. So, like, when you think about it, if you but these strings, you can have, like, a part of iron man on your guitar. Woah man, that's way totally sweet. I think if you don't want to buy these super awesome strings then you, like, need to re-evaluate your life of something man, come on! They totally have titanium in them which is like, totally one of the strongest metals, like, around and stuff. Woah man, like, yeah, buy these strings. I promise you guys these strings are totally sick you can pull off like, totally the most face melting bends on them, and they're titanium, so, like, they have a waaaay higher breaking point than normal strings bro! Sweet man I love these strings. Ernie ball, you're the man, man!!!

Firstly I will have to 'fess up and say that I'm early on in my learning curve - although getting better - but can't of course claim to a huge knowledge base. However as I had to change my strings on an old guitar as it wouldn't hold tune I decided on these coated items for no other reason other than I could. My first impression wasn't too great as it seemed to take an age to get them tuned in correctly - but I think that it's a symptom of most new strings. After a bit of stretching and tuning over a few days they hold tune now very well indeed. The feel is very light and smooth. I'm not sure if a human is actually capable of distinguishing coated and uncoated strings but I certainly think I can.The best way I can describe the feel is akin to being almost lubricated. Very, very slick and smooth.Overall a really good upgrade over the basic strings that I previously had on my guitar.

Ive gone through different types of strings, regular slinky, daddarios but these ones are the best for me. I have a really agressive attack and because of that i kept popping strings, mostly e and a but with these i have never broke one. They are coated however its hard to tell theyre coated but its noticable in the way that the high unwound strings stay shiner for kuch longer than uncoated.

I use these on a Fender Tele through a Orange Tiny Terror combo and they sound great. The only warning is that if you are changing to these from Regular Ernie Balls you may need your intonation adjusted as these strings are different because of the titanium reinforcement (this happened to me!) despite being the same gauge. Recommended.

I didn't expect such great strings. The coating is not off-putting at all. These strings feel great and sound beautiful.Been playing them non-stop for a week, they are inspiring in that way and help make yr guitar unputdownable.Very liquid feel and no sign of wear yet...In the same time , the regular Slinkys would have been withered.

Since I've started using these strings I've noticed the inner strength of the tone, maybe it could be that after so many years of playing professionaly I feel a lot more confident when bending, stretching and playing the life out of my guitar, I do recommend these strings for all levels.

excellent and smooth strings , great tone as always from this maker ,they feel really smooth and slick under your hands but have fantastic tone when played soft or really when hit hard . i love them and have them on all my guitars ,

The coating to be honest did not make that much difference in how long they last, maybe 10%, but probably less. But the overall quality is superb, and sound and feel the best out of any strings I've had and tried.

I bought for my 14 yr boy who is interested in learning guitar and trying different types of strings ...

They're my favorite guitar strings, though they're not as resistant to palm sweat as advertised.
