If you like dragonball z or fighting games and you havn't got this game then why havn't you got it BUY IT NOW ,dragonball raging blast is the best dragonball z game available and far better than the previous dragonball z game burst limit on the ps3. The graphics on this game are absolutely incredible in HD and the selection of the 43 characters are amazing (2 of them include super saiyan 3 vegeta and super saiyan 3 broly both are unlockable characters). The story mode (dragon battle collection) is close to the story on the dragonball z series and will keep you playing for hours ,you can choose from the saiyan saga ,frieza saga ,bardock saga ,androids saga ,majin buu saga ,legendary super saiyan saga and the what if stories.Once you complete a level of that saga the next time you play that level again you can play the missions where you are given 3 objectives to complete (one of the 3 objectives will always be finish on hard difficulty). When you complete a mission you are given a star ,if you get enough stars you can use them in the star shop to unlock extras such as costumes ,hidden battles in story mode ,secret BGMs and secret conversations for use in the museum mode.In the museum mode you can view each characters profile with the character encyclopedia option. You can view their introduction where you can hear them speak ,make them perform all their in game actions ,view all their costumes or view their history in the dragonball world where they appeared. You can also listen to the in game talking of the sagas in the story mode if you select the BGM collection option and you can also view replays in the museum. Also in this game you can customize your character to become strong ,you can also fight in the world tournament and the cell games with up to 16 participants and you can also earn extras here ,you also have the vs mode which has single battle ,team battle with up to 5 people and power battle which is a special battle where you form balanced teams based off the strength (power levels) of it's members. There is also a super battle trial which has ...Arcade - Go through the stages and defeat all the enemies that appear and your health is refilled after each battle.Survival - Choose a battle stage and beat as many enemies as possible with your health refilling a little after each battle (the maximum enemies you can defeat is 50).Time attack - Defeat 5 enemies as quickly as you canScore attack - Earn points for each successful action and skill you perform ,your opponent is invincible so get as many points as you can.KO attack - You have infinite health and ki ,defeat as many enemies as possible before the time runs out.Destruction attack - Defeat the enemies in the city as well as destroying as many buildings as you can.Team battle - Form a team and work your way through the battle challenges.Extreme battle - A rock solid 10 battle game against almost invincible computer players (this is the hardest mode in the super battle trial).Punching machine - Playing as videl hit the punching machine as hard as you can and rack up the score (if you can get a score of exactly 137 you will unlock one of the ps3 secret silver trophy achievements). With this game the controls can be very annoying to use first time but the more you play the game the easier the control system will be and where is ULTIMATE GOHAN (gohans sleeping power unlock from the elder kai) why is he and his battles with super buu missing from the game??? ,you see buu wearing the orange top when he has gohan absorbed in the battle with vegeto and hes also missing from the what lies inside buus stomach scenario ,it's vegeta and goku vs piccolo ,super saiyan 3 gotenks and super buu but theres no gohan with them. I would love to see an add on for this game being released that lets you play the original dragonball ,dragonball GT sagas ,that would be fantastic playing these sagas with the incredible HD graphics this game has.

Some time ago, I reviewed the awful Dragonball Burst Limit on PS3 and criticised it's return to the outdated gameplay mechanics of the DBZ Budokai series rather than expanding on the far superior Tenkaichi series, it's extremely limited number of gaming modes and options, small character roster, half hearted and simplistic online implementation and downright poor value for money to be honest... Dragonball Raging Blast has addressed each and every complaint I had with Burst Limit and changes everything to exactly the way I would want a next generation DBZ game to look and play like... with one or two minor hiccups in it's execution. This time covering the ENTIRETY of the DBZ saga from beginningto end in addition to several of the movies plots(Such as the Bardock special and the Broly movies) and dozens of "what if" stories that focus on mad(Mainly for comedy purposes) twists on DBZ stories like Future Trunks travelling back in time to fight his younger self, Vegito vs Gogeta and even Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta. It offers a huge amount of content in it's main story mode, even if the 'cutscenes' do a fairly lazy job of presenting the context for each fight, with large text pieces used to set up every battle instead. Upon finishing the stories on offer, you can then replay each fight with specific set challenges in order to unlock yet more story segments, new costumes and music tracks... and this is before you even get to the huge selection of arcade, survival, time trial, tournament, online and many more modes outside the main story, all of which offer a good degree of challenge and reward for playing to entice you to try them... hell, even the game's loading screens are a mini game that lets you earn cash to buy upgrades for characters. This game is absolutely PACKED with gameplay content. Possibly more than any beat em up I have ever seen... certainly more than any I've seen this generation. If you take to this game, there is enough here to occupy for months.Gameplay wise, the game is more or less identical to the superb DBZ Tenkaichi 3(As seen on PS2 and Wii), but with much larger and more interactive fighting areas and far better visuals of course. Some of the control changes are not for the better it could be said(In particular I found high speed flight movement to be less responsive than before), but the game is still at least as fun to play as any of the Tenkaichi series. The variety of moves in the characters will start to feel a bit limited after a while if you invest enough time in the game, with some specials repeated across multiple characters. The character selection too, while robust, does seem to contain a lot of fairly "useless" characters(Hello Chiaotsu and most of the Ginyu squad!) who aren't very enjoyable to use, but over the course of the stories, you end up using everyone at least once. I suppose every fighter needs it's disposable characters though. This is not going to appeal to everyone of course, and may be something of a "for fans only" kind of game, but that doesn't stop Raging Blast being the best Dragonball Z game to date, with everything you could want from such a game on offer, full Japanese/English audio options included folks, and an enormous amount of gameplay content, unlockable incentives and online variety on offer to satisfy every need you may have. The slightly unbalanced character roster, occasionally clunky controls, repetition of moves across characters and poorly presented storylines/contexts for the battles are the only things stopping me from giving this five stars, but if you can live with such things, consider this game a definitive must buy for anyone with an interest in all things DBZ.Bravo for listening to the fans Bandai-Namco.

If you are a true fan of the anime/manga then you will love this game and appreciate it much more than anyone eles. The story mode of Dragon Ball: Raging Blast is called Dragon Battle Collection. Players can play through the original events of the Dragon Ball Z story, but their actions in battle can change the story in many different ways. Over 100 "Battle Frames" can be selected at any time, regardless of chronological order to which they appear in the series. The story spans from the Saiyan Saga up until the Kid Buu Saga. Battle Frames also include "what-if" scenarios that never occurred in the series, and completing all of them will unlock a special ending. Players can practice and hone their skills in the "Dojo".Players can also partake in the "Super Battle Trial" single-player modes. The online mode will feature a 16-player "Budokai Tournament", single or team battle VS, and a spectator mode where players can rate the fighters. There are some problems with this game, the main one is the camera, when you are fighting the camera will move around trying to find your fighter but this can be helped with the click of the button witch allows you to move the camera view. Another is that the new additions to the game Super Saiyan 3 Broly and Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta are separate characters and cannot be transformed into. If you have played Budokai Tenkaichi 3 then you know that there are a lot of characters in it including ones from Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball GT, in Raging Blast many have been taken out but will probably return in the next one.Playable characters are:Goku (Base, Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, Super Saiyan 3)Vegito (Base, Super Vegito)Gogeta (Super Gogeta)Kid Gohan (Base)Teen Gohan (Base, Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2)Gohan (Base, Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2)Goten (Base, Super Saiyan)Gotenks (Base, Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 3)PiccoloVegeta (Scouter)Vegeta (Base, Super Saiyan, Super Form, Super Saiyan 2')Vegeta (Majin)Vegeta (Super Saiyan 3- what-if transformation)KrillinTienChiaotzuYamchaTrunks (Sword) (Base, Super Saiyan)Trunks (Base, Super Saiyan, Super Form)Kid Trunks (Base, Super Saiyan)Gotenks (Base, Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 3)Frieza (1st Form, 2nd Form, 3rd Form, Final Form, 100% Full Power)Zarbon (Base, Post-Transformation)DodoriaCaptain GinyuJeiceBurterRecoomeGuldoNappaRaditzBardockCell (Imperfect, Semi-Perfect, Perfect, Super Perfect)Android 16Android 17Android 18Android 19Android 20Super Buu (Base, Gotenks absorbed, Gohan absorbed)Fat BuuKid BuuVidel (Base)Broly (Base, Super Saiyan, Legendary Super Saiyan)Broly (Legendary Super Saiyan 3- what-if transformation)Overall - If you are a true Dragon Ball fan this is a game you don't wanna miss because of the amazing graphics and huge scale of the stages.

I personally Love multiplayers. And I love Dragonball Z. So this game was a purchase I have been waiting for, for months. I was only a little bit disappointed. the gameplay is amazing! I love the way it uses cutscenes, although some may find it annoying. Typically people look for the bad things in a game, so I'll say them. The camera gets very annoying when your character goes into a corner (it won't let you see them, which gets infuriating when Vegeta is pummelling you into the corner more). The online capabilities, which sound and look interesting, are near impossible to get into, not to mention taking near an age to even get into the loading screen. (I haven't managed to play a game yet, someone disconnects and everybody is forced to exit). Also, the game has frozen once. Which was worrying. So, some bugs to fix, but I also have to mention the good parts. The cutscenes (see above), were one of the best. The way they've brought a lot of people into the game is also something I enjoyed. The Cell games and the World Tournament are also more fun. If you get hit down towards the floor in the World Tournament, you don't automatically lose. Thankfully. Also, it leaves a LOT of spaces for online downloads, so I'm presuming there is going to be downloadable content in the future. OH, and theres also trophies! (you know, for the PS3 itself?) I liked that too.I'd say buy it nonetheless. Maybe not for the price I paid, but wait a month or two. Or you could get it for christmas. Vegeta shouting "Final flash!" was enough for me to see it was 4 stars. ^_^

Ok to begin i am a massive dragonball fan, i have played all the games from the first budokai onward and this is disapointing. The story is the same as always covering the sagas and a few what ifs. The online is good with a high level of character customisation and a good variety of match types. The museum is good for anybody who is unfamiliar with the story or the finer details of the story. Content wise its good value for money there is a lot to do in it, on and offline which is good. Graphically its good the environments are nice and large and the characters look essentailly the same as they do in the anime. You are also able to listen to your own music which is good because after a while the guitar tracks get a little annoying. On the bad side the game controls aren't great, the controls in the older tenkaichi games were great and the developers should of used them as the template for this game. The camera also gives a lot of bother very often not keeping up with the battle or your character going into a corner and you can't see whats going on. Overall its quite good but not as good as it should of been. In my opinion this should of been at least as good as the older tenkaichi games, but it isn't. I would only really recommend it to a dragonball fan, otherwise i think people would be very disapointed with it.

A fairly deep, well presented DBZ simulator. Perfect if you're looking for some quick fun with the DBZ universe! It's very rich on content and there's a great roster (the only characters I'm really missing are Hercule and Dabura) along with a lot of special moves and a combo-esque system to master. Sound effects are very true to the anime and the animations are very drawn-like, not like the crappy 3D effect that is used in some games. The story is very thin, there's not a lot of cutscenes and some of those classic moments that you want to see are missing (for example, Krillin's death and Goku turning Super Sayian is there in a awesome cutscene, but Goku teleporting with Cell is completely missing),but the game lets lets you experience all the key battles in the DBZ saga. All-in-all a great game for some quick DBZ-fun.

This is an incredible game. The story mode will allow you to relive the anime and is very fun. The online is surprisingly active. Super battle trial is good fun if you want more of a challenge. You can also enter a split screen versus mode when friends are over which is immense fun.Customising characters to use online is great fun, though you do encouter spammers and cheap players online. My only complaint would be that your opponent can abandon an online match if they are getting beaten by you, they only get a +1 to their disconnection count and their win/loss ratio won't suffer. This is a must have for almost any gamer in my opinion.

This game in my opinion just oozes Dragonball. I really enjoy it, however as mentioned by other reviewers of this game the camera can be an issue, especially when you are trying to find your opponent as it appears they have vanished and then they are above you somehow. But if you are big fan you are willing to see past this. The gameplay is immense especially the moves you are provided with for each character, and there is not much to complain over graphics. The dialogue can be poor at times and quite repetitive, but overall it's a good game.

29.6.2010

obviously the camera is an issue, but if your a major dragonball fan like me, you can probably look beyond it for the most part, i will say that if someone who isnt a dragonball fan purchased this game they might not get what its about, and would be slightly confusing, ill say lastly, take a bow amazon, ordered it on 28th was here by 12pm today with free shippingfrom dbz fans point of view 8.5/10non-dbz player would probs give it a 5/10

A lot of people hate this game, I just don't understand why. Its got everything a Dragon Ball Z fan could ask for. Story mode which is from the 'Z' saga with more 'What-ifs' Its a breath of fresh air. The battle system is simple yet so unique. I have played a lot of DBZ games and I habe to say this one is the best. It beats 'Xenoverse' 1 and 2 without a doubt! Buy it!

4.12.2016

Brilliant game. Not as good as raging blast 2. But if I had more to spend I would definitely purchase the new dbz xeoneverse game on the ps4.

13.12.2011

As a Dragonball Z fan its an amazing game but the camera angle get in the way of the fighting. The are loads of unlockables.

6.6.2011
