As I've worked in and around the video game industry and stockist of games I've always been aware of some of the stranger life coaching/fitness games Nintendo did. I would have classified this franchise as a niche product if I hadn't tried it.Personally I sold my N64 in order to get a Dreamcast. and haven't bought a new model gameboy since the Advance. I've been on team Playstation since the 2, and haven't bought anything Nintendo again until the Switch. My first hands on experience is with this franchise Nintendo Switch version. I bought this for my dad because he's recovering from brain damage, and being stuck inside during Covid, just having something different to do helps. It's not a massive surprise that he maxes out the scale in the brain age check [as that's only an extra 14 years, and he has brain damage], but it is super encouraging to see his improvement in the tasks he struggles with. as well as finding tasks he can perform well above his brain age. Each time he reaches a milestone, there is more variety and choice that gets added, and that does help. Both of us struggle with the handwriting recognition some times, but using a stylus does help a bit. [unfortunately ours was not included, but the Switch does support any generic squishy ended smart phone stylus] This struggle between user error and the UI does effect our scores and/or timing on certain tasks. It is a pretty solid user interface otherwise, and has been easier for him to learn and get used to than playing anything that you need controller for. I think he likes the hand and dexterity exercises the best.Good on Nintendo for making a really solid UI for older people and licensing a franchise that promotes learning and stimulating different parts of the brain. Even if this game has Zero scientific or medical backing I can say it has helped us a lot.

I purchased this game because I used to have a ds growing up and wanted the nostalgia. Plus brain training is good right! And all the apps in the app stores are a rip off with the subscription based models. Genuinely not sure why the reviews are so harsh.. I bought this game for my switch. It is advertised for a standard switch not a switch lite. You can't play some of the games on a switch lite as you need the joy con sensors which the lite doesn't have. So if you have a switch lite, you miss out on maybe two or three games out of the whole package. But again, that's your own fault tbh because it's not advertised for lite anyway, it's advertised for the standard switch :).I'd say these games maybe make up 20%? of the daily brain training section of the game, so don't buy it for the switch lite if that seriously bothers you - or see if they do a version for the switch lite.Overall, it's great value for money. Just under £23 and I train every day. Me and my boyfriend have both used this and havent had a problem with any of the games, on the odd occasion it struggles with hand writing recognition if you are rushing but in my opinion it's not a big issue as has happened infrequently for us.I will continue to use this and would recommend if you are looking for a brain training game for your switch that incorporates the nostalgia of the old ds game, with a few new ones in there. And I would also buy this if, like me you are sick of brain training apps full of adverts and subscriptions etc.Side note - it does have a party mode function which looks cool, I haven't tried it yet because we are in lockdown :) but it looks super fun and something that would appeal to families who like interactive games like Buzz/eye toy/Wii for the old school people who can remember all them ;)

I bought this game as I recently got a Switch to cure my isolation boredness and I can say that this is really good for keeping your brain thinking every day and to build up the connections between your neurons.I love that I can play this game with my family docked to the TV because it means that I can laugh at them when their reaction time is slower than mine! The single player mode is very useful because it has a calendar so you can tell when you last used this and you unlock new game modes and 'levels' in the game. My favourite is the piano one because I have also been trying to learn the piano. You rack up some hours playing this game. The stylus that game with this game is really good,it feels like a pencil and and seems very durable, this stylus can even be used on my phone! The only downside is that I did not know that you had to unlock the game modes one by one before playing this game but it now gives me more of an incentive to play this game everyday.

It's almost like a collage of previous Brain Training games, where both the good bits and bad bits stick together. There's new content never before seen in previous installments which work really well, but some issues like poor handwriting recognition stifle it. Most of it is fine, probably the strongest in the series outside its two DS games.Strongly recommended to play with the stylus, the stylus is not included in digital versions and you will be pressing the screen a lot. If you don't mind smudging the screen with your fingerprints, stick with the digital.

The game was great on the DS and now much better with everthing enhanced on the switch. The addition of the World Champs is great to challenge yourself against others. The games never get boring and its good just to pick up and play for a few minutes here and there. On the comments about hand writing recognition - i have no problems with this.On the comments about Switch Lite - only a small amount of the game are played with the handheld joy con so this is not a big problem. Just as good on the lite on the normal switch.

It is a little unfair to use Graphics as a benchmark for a game such as this. Also, the difficulty is quite subjective. That aside, the game is a lot of fun and holds true to the original on the DS whilst leveraging some of the new tech offered by the Switch. On the whole, my scores are always improving, but I am finding it interesting seeing difference in my performance at different times in the day, within proximity to meals, on more/less sleep than average (or after a pint or two).

Love this game! Surprised how difficult some of it is! Would have been 5 stars if it had more 2 player games. But the daily tasks section is great. It’s basically a calendar you click into each day and has 4-5 daily tasks to complete, a sodoku puzzle, a daily brain age check. And it keeps track of your score with daily / monthly graphs. And if you’ve had your daily dose of challenges / tasks there is a fun game called germ buster which I can play for hours on end. A switch must have!

I’d played the first game in the Brain Training series for the original Nintendo DS ages ago, so didn’t know what to expect. This Switch sequel is doing its predecessor wonders. Although some of the old favourite mini games have been replace with ones more adapted to the Switch, the mixture of both the returning classic games and new exercises are still as fun, creative and testing as before. If you like short but replayable games to dip in and out of, this title is for you.

Brain training for the switch is a game designed to help keep your mind healthy. There are various lessons and mini games to help improve your memory and thinking, 2 particular lessons seem abit more gimiky than helpful but still smart are the rock, paper sissors game and the hand calculations that use the ir camera on the joycon. After using brain training for a while you will notice that you can work things out faster but might just be a natural improvement over game help

Fantastic remaster of the original Brain Training that was released on Nintendo DS. The free stylus is a great addition. I try and play it daily to keep tabs on my brain age. Just don't buy this thinking you'll sink hours in at a time. It's meant to be played in small increments daily, after a few days you'll unlock new challenges and activities. Definitely worth a buy if you're a fan of the original, or just fancy a challenge to get your mind ticking over on a lazy day.

Tried for first day with my 8 year old daughter in control on her Switch Light.Hand recognition worked flawlessly! I’m not sure why there’s so many bad reviews about the poor recognition(!!!)The game asks if we wanted to do the joy con tasks, saying no was all it took to shut the game up from suggesting using non-Switch Lite functionality.I’ll update the review if this is much different in the next 5 days of Switch Lite usage.

I was excited to find out this was coming to Nintendo switch. It offers a lot of exercises to train your brain and improve your brain age. I have only used this on the switch lite so far but a few of the exercises offered work best with detachable joy cons. I do own an original switch too and when I get the chance I'll be trying these out and leaving an updated review. It's a really fun and enjoyable game that's worth the price.

This game does exactly what the game says it trains your brain. It does this through intelligent game ideas from maths sums, playing the piano, to playing an altered version of rock, paper, scissors. You really get what you put into this game. The more you play the more games you unlock and the more you can train your brain, this game has really helped me with memory retention and processing speed.

Got this game as I used to love it on the Nintendo DSJust as entertaining and fun! It is a game that you’ll only play 15min and ask for some regularity to improve (otherwise you won’t like the score), but really well done as the previous opusOnly bad point for me is that the software sometimes have trouble understanding my writing...definitely worth buying the physical copy to get the stylus

This 'game' does indeed sharpen your brain over time. From the initial set up, you have an idea of what is to come. From there, it dies get repetitive each day, but this is how you get the improvement comparison. Games range from sudoku to simple mathematics to rock, paper, scissors and test your reflexes aswell as your mental strength. Good training aid to sharpen the old grey matter.
