Highly recommended for astrophotography.There are other adapters out there, T2 to E-mount (NEX), but they are quite long (~30-40mm).The reason for that length is because mirrorless cameras are well... without a mirror, so the focus of a normal lens( DSLR) is set to the back of the camera where the sensor is located... hence the adapter must compensate that by being longer.A mirrorless has the sensor closer to the front of camera.For astrophotography a deep adapter is a nuisance because you may run out of focuser tube (back focus) especially in Newtonian.So this adapter is good only if you plan to attach the camera to the telescope (you need the sensor closer to the focus point of telescope).Great CNC piece,

I bought this for swarovski f800 camera adapter. Initially i tried a dslr but got too much vibration so bought an alpha 6000 and this unit. No cut off and really great images for a digiscope. Just got to figure out the camera wifi connection so can trigger camera from. Phone rather than self timer bt the three units are finally giving me the results i wanted.

It is the short version of a T-ring for Sony e-mount. It adds 1 cm to the light path. Ideal for astrophotography with Newtonian. Perhaps not so good if you intent to use it with photo lens or flattener/corrector that requires 55mm of back focus. Snaps firmly to the camera.4 stars because machining could be better.

Fitted well. Initially there was a problem, camera said lens not recognised and would not click. Quick look over google solved the problem. Turn on setting "release without lens" in camera setup. Instruction regarding this setting would have prevented my anxiety.

Seems well made and holds my Sony NEX 5N securely when mounted to my Celestron telescope.- Exactly what I expected. and a good price for a precision piece of kit.
