A step-up ring is just that. It'll fit and do its job. Well I have a few of the Dörr rings to reuse circular polarizers on different lenses with different sized threads, and the good thing about the step-up rings is that the anodised finish is reasonably matt. I have other rings (eg from Kenko) that are bright satin. Initially I just bought the one I needed. When I saw the finish I replaced my Kenko rings. Between the Dörr rings I have there is a small degree of variation in the level of matt finish but this is minor. For the price these are a decent buy. The rings have the size printed on twice on opposite outer faces which is a bit unnecessary.ps - Same review as my 62-67mm review

Used this to reverse my Canon 50 mm macro lens as a step up to fit my novaflex macro kit. Works just fine.
