As I mentioned in the headline, this game is a nostalgia trip for players who played the original Digimon World on the Playstation 1 as this boasts a much more refined system for commanding both of your digimon partners to use 4 attacks, their signature move and their high tension ability that can increase one preferred stat of the Digimons choice ranging from healing over time, recovering half mp + raising the max value, increase attack stat to maximum and then gradually returns to normal etc. This game also features over 200 available digimon to raise, including fan favorites Wargreymon and MetalGarurumon. For me,the best part about this game is the music as it will make you remember the intense battles that you once had in Digimon World 1 and you will think to yourself 'Did i make a mistake fighting this digimon?'The training mechanic is still the same from the original, using the gym to train your baby digimon to Rookie level and then to Champion etc. However, a new addition to the game is tamer points, this allows the player to level up the playable character to learn skills that can help gaining additional training points when fighting digimon in the over world or help their partners retain stats when they are reverted back to digi-eggs.Network battles are also available as well, up to 3 digimon can be used to battle other players 3 times a day (real time) to gain network points to purchase rare items in the points shop. However, it is recommended that you wait until you are able to fully max out all of your digimons stats before doing this, as you will likely be paired against players who have Ultra level digimon that will wipe the floor with your digimon that you chose to use as a network team.Overall this game is a must buy as you will have a lot of fun exploring the Digital World and raising your 2 partner digimon.

As a fan of my childhood game Digimon World 1 and in the future of playing Digimon World Digitize, I really must say this must be the most challenging yet the very BEST Digimon World game I have ever played! I chose 'normal' mode which from my Digimon taming experience of previous games; is NOT for the noobs. I had to work hard in leveling up my tamer level to finally get a mega level Digimon and thankfully the fantastic news is; you do not have to stay in the gym to get a level up from higher Digimon forms! The game makes you go out there and explore for Tamer EXP and I finally have a mega level Digimon making me cheer like an over excited weirdo because getting a ultimate and mega WAS so much easier in the previous games!XDThe Digimon have more personality and even make facial expressions too which is pretty cool! They will sometimes complain they don't want to sleep, or wake up, or not too keen on the food you offer them. They sometimes get into arguments with each other if their bond is low but a bit of battling makes them become good friends which is between cute and awesome!Because of the 'normal' mode I'm in...and despite I'm finally getting mega forms, I'm still at the very beginning of the game. There's still plenty more to explore but I'm honestly loving this game so far and hope more games like this will come in the future. If you loved Digimon World 1 on the Playstation and you'd like to have that nostalgia back, this is the game for you. I'm so glad I preordered for it! Worth every penny! :D

While still remaining true to what Digimon World 1 was (a Digimon raising game), this game has vastly improved what was lacking in the first installment. There are many more Digimon now, and the game mechanics are explained much better by the tutorial this time, although you'll find you might need to get used to the controls - considering the fact you are caring and battling with 2 Digimon this time, and not just one.Other things, such as digivolution specs, tamer skills and DNA digivolution have also been added, the former making the game far less frustrating and the latter giving the game more depth - but you'll still have to work for it, this game, even on easy mode will punish you if you don't play carefully and train properly. They've also introduced levels on enemy Digimon to help you gauge the enemy's strength before picking a fight, and don't ignore this. Even my mega level Vikemon and MarineAngemon still get it handed to them when fighting lvl 29 Kuwagamons, but could handle a fight against a lvl 8 Machinedramon just fine. Also, a quick tip: don't be afraid to start on easy mode. The only thing it changes is how many stats you gain from training, and you can always change it later by talking to Bukamon outside Jijimon's house.

This is a huge fan service if you like the first digimon world your in for a treat everything from the music to the gameplay is the same only vastly improved the use of two partners greatly adds to the game there is tones more to do with a decent story and a great cast to pull you in.Annoyances have been ironed out like you can now track what stats you will need for a certain digimon unlocking the info by bonding with your own partners.I myself toke a gamble when I brought this thinking it may let me down but it's only blown me away just like the first game it only gets better the more you play it adding more digimon to your city. This is exactly the digimon game iv waited years for

Usually im not writing any review because why bother ,but if anybody like the digimon "worlds" anime carton whatever u call it sadly i never really watched it just played the games , i previously pre ordered the previous title of digimon cyber sleuth i played over 493 hours in that game so i can recommend that too , But i played this game over 125 hours so far :D and i doesn't seem to stop playing it anytime soon :$i really love the game there was some point that was annoying at first but it was annoying because i didn't understand the game new system because its totally overhauled / different experience from cyber sleuth , I am glad i got the game :) for me its well spent

Very very good game, a shining gem in a sea of tasteless games! I was very surprised to find out how well thought out this game is. After a few hours I was hooked in a way that no game has in a long time. If you are a fan of the series this is a MUST! But it is very user friendly and the game explains the mechanics very well for newcomers to the franchise. If you are even remotely contemplating trying this game, just take the plunge! You will not regret it.

On the positive: Unlike cyber sleuth, it is more open world & graphically polished. However the story is a bit less interesting and I dislike the limitation of only being able to have two digimon, the semi-automated battles, & also digimon death. It's less of a serious rpg, and more of a virtual pet training type game. Similar in casualness to perhaps pokemon mystery dungeon, yet retaining a complexity to its stat system. A chill game recommended for fans.

I really enjoyed Cyber Sleuth and although it’s not a direct sequel there is a lot of similarities. However the whole death system can be incredibly tedious and tends to set you back a lot. Having to get back to a high level can take a while and unless you know what Tamer skills to get it can set you back further. So far I’m about 20 hours into the game and I don’t seem to be progressing too much. I would still recommend getting this as it is really fun.

If you enjoyed the original digimon world games, then you'll certainly get addicted to this. I will say however the difficulty curve is slightly off. Early game you're struggling to to kill rookies with your champion, meanwhile late game I'm running round with a rookie, 9000 in all stats who's obliterating ultimates. If however you're not a fan of the slow grind, repetitive training and the like this may not be the game for you.

This game takes me down memory lane! I thought I was taking a risk buying it early but I wasn't disappointed. All the old taming elements are there and this time you have two partners instead of one and your character is not alone in the digital world this time either. Players of the first game will have a (returning) surprise or two as they play on (won't say too much...spoilers!).A great one and well worth getting.

13.2.2017

Maybe it's the nostalgia, but I haven't played a game into the late nights in ages.I've always felt more emotionally involved in digimon games than pokemon, you have to feed them, discipline them, and in the end they award you in the most amazing way like dna digivolving after you thought the fight was over!Okay it wasn't all good... the female voicing isn't great.

20.5.2017

I loved the original digimon world on ps1!And this game is exactly that and SO much more.Gameplay is smooth, better combat (can give clear commands early on etc unlike original), graphics are great and the best thing... so many more digimon partners! So many more options! From more digimon series, over 200+ digimon! If you loved the original you'll love this!

26.4.2018

An updated blast from the past! There are so many elements in the story and game-play that echo the original Digimon World and I love it! Full of your old school favourite Digimon, an immersive adventure pet simulator that just keeps giving, just completed the main after 50+ hours of game play and just making a start on post game. Money well spent!

Just feel like the maps are a little big to walk over since you'll be doing it a lot and I'm around 10 hours in. Yeah you do have a fast travel option but that costs a lot of money. I just feel like a quicker way to run would be great. Could be a thing later but I'm not sure.Only thing I dislike though so far!
