I lost my old Deuter backpack in an international move and it broke my heart. But this one was a very worthy replacement. Heaps of room, incredibly ergonomic fit, super lightweight once it's on, and well padded straps. My only complaint is the the external zipper on the bottom compartment is too short, so if you've got muddy boots that you want to keep in the bottom compartment you have to put them in via the main compartment and then zip up internally, which defeats the purpose of the external zipper.

I mainly using it for small family hiking trips.Back is relay comfortable. Pockets arrangement is great. Side mash pockets works well holding water bottles.After 10 days in Tuscany I can only say it is perfect.Just what I needed as a traveler with kids.
