The position of the side pockets is not reachable while wearing the pack. Even a long slim water bottle is difficult to reach. A friend is needed to assist. The lack of an outer stretch pocket on the main compartment is disappointing.....I used clips and bungy straps on the daisy chain to secure items but would rather have had a compartment to stuff things into. The pack was otherwise fine. Nice fit and comfortable over 20+km days. It feels durable.
