I was told that this elixir had good health benefits and so far I have to agreed. I have been sleeping better, after 5yrs of having ITP (low platelets) they are now within the normal range! I have had raised BP since 2002, after trying various tablets with many serious side effects I was left with nothing that could help, I recently had it taken at hospital triage and it was substantially lower than it has been for a long time! from 260/103 down to 165/98! That is amazing! I have been told I have diabetes (a dairy intolerance of some sort) and I am due to be tested later this year, I will definitely report back on the results! It is just 2-3 drops a day on a sugar lump (or in my Lucozade lol!)It tastes nice too!

I lived in France for a long time, and this was something I'd buy occasionally, for the long, cold nights in the Alps. Made in that area, it's a combination of dozens of herbs and plants with eau de vie, with a unique flavor. The green version has 55% alcohol, so it's not something to drink lightly, but it's smooth and subtle. It's sweet - there's sugar added to both of them - but no more so than, say, a Cointreau. (But if you don't like sweet liqueurs this definitely isn't for you.)The yellow model - 40% - has less of a kick, and the flavors are more subtle: honey, pears, yet there's still that grassy background which is unique to Chartreuse. Try them both; if you like a complex liqueur, this might be for you.

Mark's special:- 25ml Chartreuse Green- 50 ml Gin (your fav, get Bombay or Bombay Saphire if not sure)- 1/2 to 1 lime juice- ice, ~8 (allow them to melt as you drink it, rather than strain, as this is a strong drink)- 10-25ml syrup (1 to 1 ratio, prepare and cool in advance in saucepan)I recommend investing in:1) a Spirit Measure Cup (25 & 50 ml). They aren't expensive and are actually kinda essential kit for cocktail making. ~£5 on Amazon.2) KitchenCraft Lime Squeezer. Not essential, but highly recommended, but you'd be amazed at the comparative ease and how much extra juice you can extract. £6 on Amazon.Enjoy!

Just because I really love this stuff doesn't mean you will. I think it's very sweet and it's also really powerful but despite the 55% ABV, I only drink it neat, believing as I do that adding any "mixer" to an alcoholic beverage is sacrilege. The only exception to this rule being high-end Absinths that I find unpalatable without the appropriate volume of water being introduced into the Absinthe glass.I tend to keep this for special occasions and it's certainly not a drink I'd take regularly or frequently but it looks great in any drinks' cupboard and can be dragged from the back at suitable times.

Wow this stuff is strong but tastes like you are swallowing razor blades.I took a bottle on a camping trip to Silverstone, after a great day at the track on Saturday then England getting through to the Semi's, the beer was definitely flowing. So the next obvious choice between 5 of us was to crack this open and use it for shots, now I'm not sure if that is the best way to enjoy this drink or not, but the next day certainly wasn't pretty. If you want to get drunk really quickly then this is definitely the way to go, those crazy Monks do know how to make a strong drink.

Wow. This is strong stuff indeed! It's definitely a treat and tastes amazing. However, my partner said the taste made him feel like he had just brushed his teeth, but that just gave me the excuse to drink his share! Lovely stuff. The only negative I would say is that the packaging was just a long cardboard box. That's it. No bubble wrap and certainly no nice tin, as mentioned in older reviews. However, the bottle survived its journey to me in one piece. Perhaps it's not an issue with it coming direct from Amazon.

This is our afer dinner tipple. You do not need to drink much to get the full impact of its effect, therefore it is less expensive in the long run - it has value and its amazing! Also you feel it is not doing you a great deal of harm - we are sure it has medicinal attibutes to it. It is a lot like medicine, but lovely medicine. I believe it contains certain herbs in it - I get a hint of sage or rosemary perhaps from tasting it. Someone suggested it is made by Monks. Rock on Monks I say!

Bought this as a congratulations for my husbands recent promotion as he loves it but only gets it as a treat now and again. This is impossible to find in any shops or even specialist wine merchants so had to order online. Very pleased with the service. Parcel arrived within the dates stated and it came in a nice green presentation tin which was lovely. My hubby was well pleased with his gift as was I!!

Expensive partly because it is 55% proof but a lovely digestive. Can also been mixed as a cocktail. Once made the mistake of drinking, 'chocolate vert' - hot chocolate with a shot of Chartreuse in a high altitude ski resort - several of them and the French tend not to measure. Vaguely remember shaking hands with clothe dummies wishing them a good night's sleep! You have been warned! Moderation.

Was very happy to come across this on Amazon. I adore this flavour but it is not for the masses. It is a little like drinking the contents of your herb cupboard. Possibly why i love it. I have not come across this in any pubs for years and it is an acquired taste. It is very strong, however, it makes great cocktails. I especially like it as a nightcap with a lot of ice. Yummers :)

This is Green Chartreuse. It is Green Chartreuse. It is entirely unique. It's very strong, so you sip it from a small glass. I love it; some oddballs don't. But trying not to be flippant, it's entirely "herbal" and the most predominant flavour is liquorice. Oh, and it's a billion times more palatable than Jaegermeister and all the other knock-off herbal liquer rubbish out there.

The marmite of the spirit world. You will either fall in love with this drink or hate it and never touch it again. Research the history of the drink and how its made, you will understand why its special. Very high alcohol content. Tastes great on the rocks, with tonic or in the verdent lady cocktail. If youve had a bad day a nip of this stuff fixes all,

Bought this specifically to make Last Word cocktails (Gin, Lime juice, Maraschino liqueur and Green Chartreuse) because I'd heard it's one of the best. It's a bit pricey but worth every penny once you try one. My wife loves them too so the bottle won't be lasting very long! Nice to drink on its own too as a digestif.

Fantastic delivery timing...arrived earlier than expected which is brilliant. Extremely well packaged, however it would have been a nice touch to have had the bottle tin that was also shown in the picture.Overall very satisfied, would recommend highly and will be using again.

We have a couple of drops on a sugarlump every evening, with a square of dark chocolate. We may be mad, but we are ancient and still going strong. The Maréchal, who gave the recipe to the monks in 1605, lived until he was 98 with all his faculties, and we aim to emulate him.
