Before Bombay Sapphire, there was this Bombay Original. The Sapphire version was basically a premium higher alcohol version of the Original. What makes this Original stand out from other gins, is the intensity of flavours. Bombay seems to use more aromatics to flavour the gin making it truly delicious. It can be drunk on the rocks without any mixer and it's wonderful. Try doing that with Gordon's and you will soon see just what a superior gin this is. Now for the sad part - Bombay Original was once a well priced product - not as cheap as Gordons or Beefeater, but not outrageously more expensive. Along comes Sapphire at a higher premium price - fully justified.

Great gin, don’t get the ‘overpriced’ and ‘on-line only. £16- everyday price in Asda. In Morrisons too and £16 eight. Ow in Sainsbury’sNice flavour, not minging over junipery like Gordon’s.

My all time favourite Gin. Much better than the Saphire version. The original formula is still the best and makes the best Gin and Tonic in the world.
