First things first - Genever is not gin, it is a predecessor of the gin that many in the UK know today. However, it can be used in a lot of the same ways. The first drink I tried with this was with a muddled lime slice and lemonade which was gorgeous, but I want to try some of the classic cocktails such as a Collins and a Bees Knees. I've seen reviews elsewhere comparing Genever to a cross between gin and whisky which is spot on, as someone who appreciates both drinks. Genever definitely has more body than gin so it mixes well with other strong flavours such as lemon, lime and ginger. I have read other reviews that advise not to try this with tonic and I would probably agree.

Genever is a very old gin; in fact the very name "gin" is short for ginever or giniver. This one tastes different from the usual ones and my friend and I were a bit surprised at how potent it is! One gin and tonic was quite enough but it really is excellent.It's a shame Genever isn't available in the USA, at least not in our area.

Delivery mix up as no delivery note left by driver so was waiting at my local post office for collection unbeknownst to me!! However when I did collect it was perfect and as a gift for a friend couldn't have been better received!! Excellent quality and that's coming from a Dutchman who knows his Genever!!

Very good Dutch gin. Jeneva comes in many different guises and my dad, who has been drinking Jeneva for 50 year rates this one as the Rolls Royce of Jenevas. Great service too. Definitely use this company - I have now used them several times and they are very efficient, quick and good value. Thanks

A regular buy for us. If you want to sample the origins of the familiar drink gin, this is the best to go for. A different flavour to what gin drinkers might expect, but this is the roots of the drink we love, so worth a try..

Now this is nice - has a very full flavour, that transforms a Martini into a very tasty drink ( even better, a Hanky Panky - look it up and make one, it's the cocktail of choice in our house!

Tried it in a pub and it's like malty whiskey and gin had a good night together once. Smokey favour, elegant bottle and careful packaging.Gin lovers, try it if you haven't yet!

This is a unique taste. Bols stopped doing this recipe for a number of years and all their alternatives do not compare to this genever which tastes like nothing else.

Just like I remembered it years ago when it came in an earthenware bottle a bit pricey I think but worth it

The flavour is a bit out there definitely an acquired taste but I enjoyed it.
