Eugen Beyer invented the concept and first ever headphone set back in the 1930's, so this is a company that knows what they're doing. It's no coincidence that Beyer's DT100's have been almost the defacto ubiquitous headphones seen in daily use in pro recording studios and in TV/broadcast/film work for a long time. The headphones are comfortable to wear over long periods, very snug fitting and the phones are a fully closed back design - which means that ambient sounds from outside the headphones are kept out and sounds from the headphones are kept in - so they won't leak/spill out into your recordings if you're recording a vocal or up close dialogue track for example..... oh,and they sound good too.Now - the DT150's are of a very similar clunky 'Dr. Who cyberman' design, though not quite identical - ugly plasticky angular brutes cosmetically really - but the DT150's do have an extended frequency range over the DT100's which makes them better suited to mixing and general tracking duties, and that's why they're more often seen on the heads of producers than the DT100's - although it's clear that they're also good for the same duties you might expect to use DT100's for - ie monitoring primary recording with microphones. I'd say that they could even be used for mix mastering at a pinch in such situations where perhaps you simply cannot use studio loudspeakers for the task. They do take a bit of time to 'break in' from new - then the bass response is pretty good, perhaps just a tad shy of truly full bass range sound whilst the mid range is quite pronounced and clear (perhaps lifting slightly in the human voice/mid speaking frequency range) with a generally smooth and rounded high end, not at all harsh and shrill as you can find in a lot of other headphones. You'd be hard pressed and have to spend a LOT more money to get a bit more performance than these tough, functional and ergonomic workhorse headphones offer sound wise.Being designed for the busy working professional environment, all parts can be got at short notice from pro audio outlets and field replaced in seconds individually should anything break or wear out........ but really - these headphones are as tough as old boots and can be relied upon for years of faithful service. As I said earlier, it's no coincidence that you see these headphones in use a LOT in pro audio situations. They work. And they work well.Read full review...

I thought a lot before Rating and providing comments about these headphones so i will try my best to provide a balanced review!I bought these for DJ-ing with, having used Sennheiser HD25p phones for about 14 years and loved the sound quality, size and built quality of these. I have also owned a pair of Beyer DT100s which are built like a tank but have SUCH a flat sound they are useless for club DJ-ing. DT150s are more or less the same as the DT100s but have a wider frequency response and much lower bass end. So far so good.BUT...1. Build quality in my opinion is not as good as DT100s2. They are not loud enough for clubbing (much quieter than Sennheiser HD25p)3. Are bit too big (think of Mickey Mouse's Ears!)and lack cool factor when DJ-ing4. Speaker-bit/diaphragm (or whatever they are called in headphones) sit a bit too far from the ear, or maybe I am going a bit deaf... affecting the volume/power getting to your ear5. Only have 1/4 inch jack (you will have to purchase a 3.5mm jack converter to plug into computer, iPod etc)6. Don't fold well (have to squeeze them into my car's glove compartment which they don't like)For normal use, these 6 points might not worry you but, as a DJ, I would not recommend them if you intend DJ-ing in loud clubs etc. if you want to perhaps DJ from home or don't mind purchasing the 3.5 mm converter to listen to iPod or your HiFi then they will reward you with great sound. Build will be more than sufficient I guess for most users, even pro use, remember all parts are replaceable.I will probably keep mine for a while and look out for a second hand pair of Sennheiser HD25 phones, bit pricey but worth every penny. Why did I not buy these instead f the Beyer DT150? I don't know, moment of dumbness...To summarise, great headphones but not for DJ-ing in clubs.Read full review...

I bought this product as I have used them in the past in a number of recording studios and radio studios. They are extremely comfortable to wear, with a good range of adjustment. The amount of external noise that gets through is minimal, as is the amount of noise that leaks out whilst in use. This means I can listen to music in the same room as the rest of the family while they watch TV. Frequency response is fabulous, and the overall sound is as accurate as what comes through my hi-fi monitor speakers. You can pay less and you can pay a good deal more, but for quality and value, these are very hard to beat.

Superb pair of studio headphones, the industry standard, take a bit of getting used to though, sound quite different from standard hi-fi headphones and fit won't suit everyone, stereo separation very prominent and quite boxy sounding, won't suit hi-fi enthusiasts. Great point to note is that all parts are replaceable and they are built to last.

These are pretty nice cans for the price but considering there isn't many marketing done there you mostly pay for the components. Bass so low i got the hum and even some says they're not comfy, they are and a clamping force isn't strong either. built like a tank. Highly recommend it.

Having terrible monitor speakers out of choice, these cans offer a place to do the mixing. When I send my mixes off to be mastered, there doesn't seem to be any frequency issues. it is nice to be able to trust something.

These are just the ticket for private listening on my Raspberry Pi 3-based music streamer! Only downside is my head is probably a bit big so the headband a bit tight but they sound great and look built to last!

I'm a sound engineer and these headphones are the industry standard. They perform well in all areas of sound reproduction giving a clear, uncolored, sonically pure image.

12.10.2016

Sound quality is excellent and they are fairly comfortable, although I would prefer leather ear pads, since the plastic gets a bit uncomfortable after long term use.

8.9.2014

Great headphones which cut out all sounds so no unwanted noises coming through on vocal or other acoustic track.
