When it comes to older games there are 3 types of re-release. Remake (such as ratchet and clank. TR anniversary) which are based on an original but using ALL new programming and adding new elements. Then there are remasters, that have been painstaking rebuilt from the ground up FPS and detail massively improved. Ezio collection looks more like the 3rd however, a reissue. As good as it is (and we'll get to that) it is pretty clear that these are quite old titles. Cut scenes feel about the same as say God of War I+II did back on the PS3.That's not to say nothing's been done, some minor improvements have been done, but don't expect the same markup as say tomb Raider or return to Arkham.Anyhow with all that out of the way it is still worth mentioning that for you hard earned notes what you do get is the high point of the entire Assassins Creed History, including 2 videos covering both the beginning and the end of Ezio's story. Which for those that either haven't played the any Assassins game from 3 onwards or not even at all is essentially a power struggle between 2 factions and a old alien race. You start the adventure as barman Desmond Miles, who has been kidnapped by a company called Abstergo and made to relive his ancestors lives via a machine called the Animus. He is told of The conflict between Templar's (who want to rule over everything) and assassins, who believe in freedom. In AC2 he escapes Abstergo with the help of a worker there who explains that there is a race that came before that might be the real problem. and the makers of ancient artefacts known as 'Pieces of Eden'. He then agrees to go on a different Animus to help the assassins and becomes Ezio Auditorre De Firenzi an assassin from the Italian renaissance. Ezio's story starts when his father is wrongly accused of and executed for Treason . Ezio initially goes out for revenge but becomes a Master Assassin, and as the stories progress, also trains others and carries out various missions for the cause. The game features a variety of characters based on real life people (Leonardo Da Vinci is particularly special) Essentially. This is where Ubisoft took a few idea that didn't quite gel in AC1 and perfected them into a visually impressive open world Free-runner with the fictitious cities of History replaced but quite accurate incarnations of real places. To the uninitiated the free-running style can take a bit of getting used to but since most reading this have likely played at least one AC game in their lives. Generally though game-play is fluid and the Leap of faith /assassination never tire. Nor does the option to call on other trained assassins when a little extra help is needed (as in Brotherhood) You do get a few too many eavesdrop missions (it took a while for Ubisoft to realise they weren't very liked from the start) and at times Ezio might jump in the wrong direction, but he level of fun to be had is immense. Plus there are some excellent puzzles thrown in some are quite a challenge for those unwilling to check a guide.Plus all the games come on 1 disc making them very convenient. If you still have an old PS3/Xbox360 and the collection from that I would say that the upgrade is probably not worth it. But for those with fond memories but no longer own the old console, or if you've never had last gen at all, Ezio collection is quite a bit of bang for your buck

I still can't find any particular explanation as to why Ubisoft have chosen to remaster every Assassins Creed game apart from the first one. For those new to the series therefore this remains the best starting point. At the beginning you are given a brief but inadequate explanation of what is going on, but if you have not played the first game you will have to do some research on the web to really understand what the animus is and how you are able to travel back to the Renaissance. This remastered version does show its age when you first start paying but you soon grow accustomed to the graphics. The content remains pretty much the same, although there are two episodes towards the end of the game, originally available as downloads, but which are now included from the start. What is most noticeable is how clunky and frustrating some of the controls can be. This is especially true when the same commands can mean different things depending on the positioning of your character. Jumping backwards into oblivion rather than jumping up to grab a ledge can be particularly aggravating. As with all Assassins Creed games the real joy of this game is the freedom it gives you to explore another time period. Even in this early game the level of detail is impressive and there is plenty to do and see outside of the main story. I highly recommend taking your time with the game and soaking up the atmosphere, rather than charging through it at a pace. The story is perhaps the weakest part of the game. Focused initially on a revenge plot it begins to drag towards the end with seemingly endless missions to assassinate one person after another. As it goes on the plot begins to feel more and more contrived, with no real motivation to continue. The plot missions can also be really frustrating, with added complications like "don't get spotted" forcing you to replay some missions several times over. The difficulty is often caused by the clunky controls and technical glitches, not by any failure of tactics. The two expansions are not anywhere near as good as the original game. From the initial game where you get to explore several different cities the first expansion takes you to Rome where you do pretty much the same thing again based in just one city. Then in the second expansion you go to Constantinople and again the story is just the same thing all over again. One particularly irritating aspect of the two expansions are the sections which take place in the modern day or in a virtual reality puzzle. People play these games for the historical setting, and these diversions are an unwelcome distraction from that.Having followed the series since the first Assassins Creed it is interesting to see how it has developed. The more recent games have much more freedom to do what you want and play the game the way you want. Improvements in the graphics and the fluidity of the controls make the game much less frustrating. That said the Ezio Collection is still the best place to start if you want to enjoy the series. Despite its flaws there is a lot of fun still to be had, and it forms the basis for a lot of what comes after.

Featuring all three games in the 'Italian Trilogy', in addition to two short movies, the Ezio Collection is a must buy for any returning fan or anyone who wishes to experience the stories for the first time.It would be too easy to solely talk about the fantastic story writing and so-on that these games have to offer, and as many critics and gamers have already done so before, I feel no need. If you want to know just how essential these games are to anyone's collection, then you need only read one of the thousands of reviews based on the originals. What you're getting in this collection is all three games updated to match today's standard of graphical quality (don't forget that the first game in this collection is 7 years old),including some stunning 4k textures. Each brick in the wall looks to have been mapped, and while the landscape is certainly smaller than recent installations in the series, the games looks just as beautiful (if not more) than Paris and London of both AC Unity and Syndicate. The lighting has been revamped and all water textures have been touched with a magic wand, helping to make the experience feel even more immersive. When playing Assassin's Creed 2, I couldn't help but stare in awe as the Italian sun lit up the countryside, beams of light tunnelling around me, all whilst Jesper Kyd's unforgettable soundtrack chimed in, in the background. It really does make for the ultimate experience. However, Youtube videos, screenshots and personal accounts such as my own aren't able to do enough justice, and to truly appreciate what has been done to the games, you need to witness it first hand.

Ok I will be honest here by saying I watched a few review videos on YouTube to get a jist of what the game is like. From what I learned most people said they didn't like it. Clearly they were wrong.Firstly if you are like me and have been playing assassins creed since Altair then you should be happy to know that this is the exact same game we use to play on our PS3'S and Xbox 360's.If you are new to the franchise and are just starting out, I would highly reccomend buying the Ezio Collection as you will get a feel of what the game is like from the beginning.Another thing to point out is that whilst the graphics are not much like those of 2016 games, they are still likened to the originals. If you do happen to be a modern gamer who prefers playing their games in 4K with a high FPS rate, this may not be for you.The gameplay itself is absolutely amazing, as it brings back great emotional storytelling throughout the entire game.Note to all 3 games are included in the series:Assassins Creed IIAssassins Creed BrotherhoodAssassins Creed RevalationsOverall I think the game is perfect for those who are just starting out on the franchise and for those retro gamers.

I loved the original Assassins Creed games. The remastered versions are good and bring back a lot of memories, but are in no way perfect. The graphics on AC2 are somehow worse than the original in terms of npc animation, but the scenery is sharper and more distinctive than before. The fight dynamics are still rough like in the original game and ubisoft seem to have done away with the Templar treasure missions at certain landmarks.Brotherhood was the better of the three games. The graphics were not noticeably better at first glance and the gameplay was much the same with the extra dlc 1507 missions. As with the original release it was a fun experience with better fight dynamics, despite more room for improvement, and an immersive story.Revelations was not a particularly good game in the first place, but the remaster has improved the graphics. This game is only really necessary for backstory purposes. The Ezio collection is definitely a much needed break from the disastrous games in the past 2 years for any assassins creed fan and is certainly worth the money...but cannot really be called a full remaster due to the horrid graphical errors in the first game.

Fantastic. This remaster is great. Also of my favorite assassin ezio. I was a bit disappointed that Ac3, rogue and liberation were not included but there are 3 great games and remastered for the next generation consoles. To be fair none of the games have aged that badly. Ac2 looks great still. It was released 2008. So it's great to see it again but on the next generation machines. The three look nice and clear very crisp graphics. There is vast improvements in the characters and the scenery in game. Also they have included two of the movies Ac linage and Ac embers which is a nice addition. All dlc is included for all games. My advice to ubisoft would be to do the same with Ac3, rogue and liberation. And add all dlc to them. Maybe call it the American collection. It would be great. But this is a good start. I think ubisoft needs to go back to the direction of the older assassin's creeds in gameplay elements. This is recommended to die hard assassin's creed fans and people who haven't played the previous titles. So new fans should give this a go. 10/10. Very good.

This is a fantastic collection brought back to PlayStation 4 standards. I didn’t get round to platinum them on PS3 so was very happy I hadn’t lost my chance. The graphics are greatly improved in all 3 games, with the most difference being applied to AC2. The game still has the most soul destroying glitches with the controls at times, sending your assassin jumping backwards to his death after 15 mins of climbing. And just knowing you have to do it again (or many times) puts your flatscreen at risk of a controller shaped hole. This is the only reason why I haven’t applied 5 stars. But having said this, the games are massive fun, and hours of play. I have now platted all 3 games. And have really really enjoyed this collection.

I always had fond memories of playing the ezio games on the PS3 but playing them all again on the PS4 is even better then the first time round maybe that's because every other assassins creed sequel since hasn't quite hit the same mark. It's so much fun to play these games and for the price it's even better the story is probably the best of the whole series and so it's the character ezio. There's a few pop on texture problems but that sort of thing doesn't bother me to be honest and the graphics downgrade a little in cut scenes but as you as it's not a problem because the gameplay is first classYou can't go wrong with this collection if you have played it before or it's your firsttime.Fantastic.

I didn't play these games first time around and was told that they were probably the best in the assassins creed series. I played black flag and syndicate and enjoyed these so decided to give the Ezio collection a whirl.I'm halfway through ac2 so far and am hooked on it. The graphics (although not up to the standard of new ps4 games) look good remastered and don't detract anything from the player's experience. The content of the game does not feel dated even though it came out in 2009.If you're like me and didn't play these games first time around, then spending £32.99 on three great full length games makes good value for money. Really pleased with this purchase.

Assassins creed 2 is one my favourite games of all time. I have not yet got round to playing the other 2. The graphics are quite a bit better but sometimes (Leonardo da Vinci’s door) it looks old. But the one problem I have is that the game keeps glitching on me and I never had this problem back on the Xbox 360 version of the game. The database either doesn’t give me a bio of some characters or won’t go away. I scanned something and it wouldn’t disappear off my screen even when starting a mission. That’s the only reason why it doesn’t get 5 stars the game itself is 5 but ubisoft got a bit lazy on this.

When I Was A Young Man, I Had Liberty, But I Did Not See It. I Had Time, But I Did Not Know It. And I Had Love, But I Did Not Feel It. Many decades would pass before I understood the meaning of all three. But now in the twilight of my life this understandment has passed into contentment, love liberty and time once so disposable are diffused that drive me forward and was especially Mucaro for you our children our brothers and sisters and for the vast and wonderful world that gives life and keeps us guessing endless effectionMia sophiaForever yoursEzio auditore

Absolutely stellar games. If you loved these the first time around, you won't be disappointed with the remaster. I've seen some of the moaner reviews on here and can 100% state from my experience of playing this on PS4 I've not encountered any issues at all and in fact can't stop playing it, i think I'm enjoying it more this time around if that was even possible. The graphics are enhanced and colours are much improved on the originals. All in all, the best 3 games of all the Assassin's Creed releases and an absolute bargain.

Nice to go back in the past and replay the classic assassins creed, amazing how much fits on a disc.Managed to complete the game extras like collecting flags and feathers to complete 100% to get all trophies, something I didn’t do when I bought the original single games.I did find a few glitches in Assassins Creed 2 - one of the memories kept crashing so I ended up leaving that particular one then I came back to it after doing other tasks but worked when I tried again.Overall great value.

I liked it better in my memories but now I find it hard to play after origins and odyssey but still was a great games back then and looks so much better and I'm having fun but the running up the wall by mistake drives me insane lol but im glad the online was removed so I can earn the platinum trophis for all 3 games.I like brotherhood but found revalations dull and boring and I lost interest fast but that my personal opinion everyone is different
