Our 14 year old cat has been brought up on a diet of standard cheap cat food in the mornings and for dinner, fresh prawns, chicken or tinned tuna in brine. Needless to say she always finishes up her dinner leaving a clean bowl. The Applaws chicken selection in our cat's opinion is the best tinned cat food she's had yet. It is the first tinned cat food that she has ever consistently polished off in one scoff which is a total joy to see. This product is quality at its best which is why I give it a 5 star rating.Even I think that Applaws looks like proper meat with its texture and with no need for smelly additives to attract the feeding desire, evident in other inferior cat foods. The benefit for me is that I don't have to empty the smelly remains of cheaper cat food into the bin later.I agree with others that this food isn't cheap. However, in my opinion it is worth every penny for our cat. She's getting a bit old now but that is all the more reason to ensure that each feeding session is a pleasure for her. There is only one downside:That is that our cat now wakes us up a bit earlier than usual for her breakfast with determination!

...and I have tasted it - it's delicious. No wonder Applaws gets five stars from almost every reviewer - cats love it.BUT... it's made in Thailand, and I wonder about the animal welfare standards there raising chickens.I now make my own 'Applaws' with organic free-range chicken breasts and thighs plus a little water in the slow cooker. When tender, I shred the meat with two forks and freeze it in meal-size portions with its cooking juices. The cost of the above works out the same, and at least I know exactly 'what' my cat is eating.

If my cats had a choice, they would live off this. However, it is only a complimentary food, so not an option.Lovely texture, very moist, looks like chicken, smells like chicken, and the small tins mean no waste, it is a reasonable portion for a cat for one meal.I like the fact that it contains exactly what it says on the label - so no fillers and salt lurking in the small print, this is proper meat, home cooking for cats!

Both my 18 yearold cats wolf this down in no time and If Ii let them would eat nothing else. Am buying through the subscription scheme to save a little.Wish my other expensive foods were on this as well!

I chose this rating because my two Siamese consider the chicken in these handy small cans five star. It is an excellent quality product, moist and importantly they enjoy it as the empty bowls confirm...
