Our Kitten was only 3 months old when we took him in from a rescue home. After a bad start with an eye infection we took him back to the vets as his gums were red, bleeding and he had terrible bad breath that you could smell 5 feet away if he was cleaning. Our vet suspected calicivirus (cat flu) which takes hold of the cat by way of plaque and unlike cats without this virus who can keep plaque at bay this virus prevents that and so then leads to gingivitis, ulcers and inabilitiy to eat and the solution is a costly teeth removal operation. The vet suggested we try these biscuits (gave us a sample packet) and initially I was shocked at the price but bought a smaller packet at out local petstore. The cat loved them and decided to put our other 2 cats on these also. For £40 this bag lasts us (3 cats) 2 months so 1 cat would be 6months so if you look at it that way £40 over 6 months is actually cheaper than normal catfood and its clean, nothing wasted and the results have been amazing. Our now 6month old cat has pearly white teeth, good breath and his gums arent bleeding (apart from teething)and dont look as red and angry. Our 10yr old cat has since had his yearly checkup and told he has the startings of gingivitus due to plaque build up over the years which is normal for an old cat but he has taken to these biscuits no problem - However if you do start them on these dont feed meat inbetween otherwise they may be more choosey and wait for the meat (this is what my older cat started doing until stopped altogether and after 2 days ate them with no problem) 10/10.

I rescued a Persian cat about three years ago. She had all the problems a Persian cat can have...bad fur, dry fur, she didn't have any appetite, had ear problems...about £400.00 worth of vet treatment and surgeries for ear and eye problems and she still didn't seem right. But thanks to a wonderful friend who is a top Persian Cat breeder, Gail Miller of Morninglory Persians, I put her on Royal Canin Persian 30 dry mix. What a turn around! She loves it...I mean she REALLY loves it. And I don't care how good or pricy a food is, if your pet won't eat it, all that money and advertising means nothing.Since it is shaped to fit the small Persian mouth, she has no difficulty picking the food up and chewing it.It smells fabulous. My friend and I joke that it must be powdered with some illegal drug the way the cats fight to get into the bag, but it's just plain great food.If you could ask your Persian what he would want to eat he would say Royal Canin in a heartbeat! And if Royal Canin wants to contact me feel free...my little Persian addict will gladly show you what loving your food is all about! lol!Suzi

My sister & I are exceptionally fussy Persians, particularly as my sister, Momo, gets the squits really quite easily (seriously, those Gourmet Mon Petit pouches, we love them - probably because of the amount of sugar added, but she can poop through the eye of a needle after a couple of days of those). We like this stuff though. It keeps our poop regular and normal looking, and doesn't have any crazy additives that make us go bonkers. The little meaty nuggets are shaped so we can actually get our chops around them with little trouble (thanks for the inbreeding), and we always rush to our bowl when out servant grabs the packet from the cupboard. It's nice that the servant doesn't have to spend a ridiculous amount on buying our food as she found it cheaper on this website, and it was delivered really quickly too, which was a bonus as I do like to fill my chubby little face. The servant says it's not too bad when I eat too quickly and then puke it back up either, as it dries into a nice, easily vacuumable powder on the carpet.Yes, we like this food.Hitomi & Momo

I usually pay at least £2.00 more for this at our local pet shop so I was pleased to be able to buy this from Amazon and also get free p & p.We have 4 cats, 3 Siamese and 1 Oriental and all them have dreadful breath. I am happy for the 3 youngest to have dentals but not for my Red Point because he has a heart condition and the last time he had a dental he collapsed 5 days after the procedure and nearly died. He's fine now although he has to stay on heart tablets for the rest of his life.I buy Royal Canin Oral mainly for him as a) he loves it and b) it reduces the build up of tartar and calculus on his teeth. The other three prefer Iams which is great considering I have 18 kilos of it to use up.The kibble is larger than usual kibble which makes the cat have to chew the biscuits. In doing so, it cleans their teeth. Since he has been eating it, I have noticed that his breath is a lot better and the gingivitis they all suffer from is less inflamed.Great stuff and I recommend it highly.

With two feisty Abyssinian cats, finding the right food that is good for them, and their teeth (which often can be dodgy on the breed), the Royal Canin Oral Sensitive blend does just the right bits - being delicious to the cats, while keeping their oral health in check (obviously, you need to check their teeth periodically with your vet as well). Just one note, they DO tend to like it a lot, and as such, you need to resist giving them "all they can eat." It will put on weight to a cat very easy, which is NOT good for most cats (definitely NOT Abyssinians). We feed the two only 3/4 of c up a day, cut back wet food (very fattening) to 3 times a week, all under vet prescription, and they have dropped the excess weight slowly but surely, and are now back to their 'fighting weight.' The food leaves their fur shiny and glossy, their eyes alert and shiny, and they are ready for play and running about for a good part of the day. Highly recommended.

I first bought this product when my older cats were experiencing tartar problems with their teeth. It actually worked! Therefore, when I adopted a tiny kitten that had been abandoned in my garden, I eventually started her on this dried food. I generally put a little tinned cat food in one dish and then this dried food in another dish with of course a dish of water. I feed my cat tinned cat food twice a day but leave the dried food out so she can eat it when she wants. As Rosie is a very active cat and goes out for long spells at a time especially in the summer (climbing trees) I find this works very well. Rosie is three years old now and has sparkling white teeth. She loves this food but she sometimes gets treats like a few slices of the cheap sandwich ham, or a few prawns, or sometimes lightly boiled coley. Hope this review helps.

Our sweetie cat has had gingivitis for some time even though she has always been fed a hard biscuit diet to help with her teeth and gums.It is just a case that she is susceptible to this condition.Recently I was advised by our vet to try this dental food rather than go down the route of dental cleaning in surgery.I found that within days of using it her gums had lost most of the inflammation which was very encouraging.I have mixed it with her previous dry food to introduce it slowly and even by this lesser method it has worked. Will continue to supplement it with her regular dry food as she prefers the smaller nibbles as the dental ones are larger and more difficult for her.If the gingivitis clears completely then I may feel it not necessary to continue with it but it will be there just in case.

I bought this product for my 1 year old pedigree neuter boy. I was shocked how much tartar had deveolped on his teeth as he was not that old. I have been using the RC Oral Sensitive for a few weeks and have already seen a decline in tartar on his teeth. The kibble is a really good size which stimulates chewing but all of the flavour of the 'normal variety'. He was starting to have bad breath and I notice his breath is not smelling anymore.I usually fed him wet food morning and night time and dry RC free choice during the day. I notice now that he does not ask for the wet food as much as the Oral Sensitive seems meet his needs perfectly as he loves a good crunch.I used whiskas dentabitespreviously but they were useless.

My vet can tell when my cats have been eating this food because their teeth are cleaner and have less tartar. The food pellets are about 1cm in diameter and a squareish shape, so the cats find it hard to wolf down without biting first. This also means that they eat slower and are therefore less likely to throw up after eating, which is always what happens if they eat wet food.Taste-wise, my cats really do like this stuff and choose to eat it in preference to nearly all other types of dry food. I'm also happy that it's by Royal Canin as my cats have tried a lot of their range, like them all to varying degrees and are in excellent health according to the vet.

My cat had really bad breath, we could smell it even when he was on the floor grooming himself - he would literally clear the room. Vet said nothing wrong with him! I was despairing, then came across the reviews for this, thank goodness. Within a very short time, certainly within a few days, we could no longer smell his breath. Both cats love it and always eat every single last bit, even the small bits that have broken off that they used to leave. I also give them a couple of wet pouches every day, for extra liquid in their diet. Would recommend this 100%. They don’t seem to eat as much of this dry food as they did before when they were on Iams.

Well I don't actually love it,but my cats do.I give it to them along with meat. They all love crunching the kibble which is very large.I have three cats,a persian a maine coon and their daughter. The maine coon has a sensitive stomach but doesn't have any problems with this.I was a bit disappointed to find that the persian does have some tartar on his teeth,He's only three and has been eating this most of his life I'd hoped this product would have prevented this, but as it says on the packet,it reduces tartar by 59%,so perhaps it would have been worse if he'd not had it.The other two cats have no tartar and all three look very healthy on it.

All my cats both present and past love this and it does prevent their teeth developing tartar. However, I just give my present cat half a pouch of Felix and in a separate dish a handful of Royal Canin Oral Care plus a separate dish of water (imperative as if they do not drink enough water when eating dried food they can develop kidney disease) I feed my cat Rosie first thing in the morning and repeat the same regime about teatime at 5-6pm. On this feeding regime she keeps a stable weight. She also has boiled cod or coley as a treat and occassionally a saucer of milk and/or a cat treat - the stick sort.

I've purchased these for a long time for my Persian, but her tray habits have changed. recently and we've been scratching our head! Used to be solid no issue. Now very soft odd small specks of blood. I've noticed the biscuits didn't look as dark as they used to and different packaging. Found a review elsewhere which said they contacted royal canine 5/17 and 2 ingredients have been changed, didn't agree with her cat either. I stress this isn't this sellers issue its royal canine. But I can't buy now as don't agree with my cat, so frustrating! stars reflect SELLER ONLY Thank you

I have been using Royal Canin for many years. The breeder that sold us our Persian was highly recommending it. My Persian loves it and is in great condition. We never had problems with hairballs either. In addition to our Persian We now have two Bengals who keep eating it as well so it must be good food. The price is fantastic. I use to pay nearly £20 for 2 kg bag in Petsathome but now I only buy 10kg bag from Amazon. It saves us lots of money and the food stay fresh even thought we not always close the bag properly.

I bought this as my 11 month old British Shorthaired Blue had smelly breath. The vet said that he was fine and his teeth and gums are perfect. The smell, especially in the morning was dreadful. He is was fed only Royal Canin young neutered male food. I now used half of each and the effect was almost immediate. The smell completely disappeared within a couple of portions. I understand that due to the shape of their mouths that food can get lodged in their gums etc. This has completely solved the problem.
