I have played all the yakuza games including the original 1 and 2 on ps2. This was a good start with all the things yakuza and typical humour, I found myself laughing alot while playing this game. Ichiban is a great character and it's been fun playing so far ☺. I'm loving the story and characters and basically a Japan free roam simulator ☺ it's very realistic and nice to play. Only thing I wasn't sure about was the turn based combat in the fights as I prefer to actually play action rpg's and real-time fighting ect.So the turn based thing really is the only thing that is a bit of a come down from the original games and kiwami games. There is one great thing added though, the voice acting is all English dubbed and subbed and if you prefer the Japanese language with English subtitles then you can do that aswell. Just wished they did this for all the kiwami games and 3 to 5 remasters. But it has been a great game so far. It is a shame though that they didn't add an action mode where you could fight like in the original yakuza games, that would of been sick if they did that. Not that I hate turn based or anything but I just prefer action rpg's. FF7 Remake being an example of that.

I'm a long time fan of the Yakuza series, I was a little sceptical of this one since it's a new protagonist, new combat system, new Setting etc. Ichiban is a worthy successor to Kiryu, now he's not as strong Kiryu and is overall the opposite. Is more hot headed and outspoken then the calm and cool Kiryu, and has a party as opposed to Kiryu's one man army. But that's not a bad thing. The story is your classic Yakuza writing that strikes the perfect balance between serious and zany, it can be a little cliche at times but is overall very enjoyable. The combat is now turn based as opposed to the previous fighting style, it is different and I personally prefer the previous combat style but its still fun.Minigames are good, with some new ones and many returning ones. This game is mostly set in Isezaki Ijincho Yokohama, which is nice enough map to explore, Kamourocho Tokyo still appears however. The game also offers you an English voice option for the first time since the original Yakuza, personally I stuck with the Japanese version but I've hard the English ones also good. The characters are nice new match, likeable and interesting. So overall I would say this game delivers.

Was not sure about this game when i purchased it, my fears were laid to rest when i started playing this game. I've been playing the yakuza series since the original yakuza 3 came out in 2010, so was curious where they'd go with he franchise after yakuza 6. Some of the side missions are laugh out loud funny, the low budget ringmaster series of side missions are worth the price of the game alone. Disclaimer: I love persona 5 and persona 5 royal, so really enjoyed the changed fighting system. The story was interesting, as events that happened since yakuza 4 shaped what happens in this game. So far this is my faveourite yakuza game of series, just beating yakuza 6 and yakuza 6 kiwami. There are those that won't like the fighting changes made to the game. Which is a shame, because the changes made to the game i found really enjoyable. I hope in Yakuza: Like a dragon 2, some of the characters from Judgement/Judge Eyes turn up. That would be amazing. It is worth checking out, it's alot of fun.

For a developer not known for producing RPGs, this is extremely impressive.Yakuza Like A Dragon ranks up there with Dragon Quest XI and Persona 5 as one of the finest JRPGs of the last few years. The main characters are well developed and engaging, as is the story and multiple side quests. Combat is very satisfying and the job system keeps it all fresh. The typical Yakuza mini games return and are as hilarious and wacky as ever and cunningly woven in to the turn based gameplay. This is a fantastic JRPG and shows that innovation is still possible in the genre.Very much recommended

Big fan of Yakuza series, played all the Western released ones including remastered collection and Judgement.Loved the brawling, beat em up elements of all entries so was worried about the turn based elements when I first heard about it. Fast track to getting it release day.....didn't enjoy the combat changes for the first 2 hours, then......something magical happened.......it all just clicked and I am addicted. It's been 5 days, I've hit 40 hours and I'm supposed to be a 30 year old key worker with grown up responsibilities. This is the one. Buy it.

First of all, this is a really fun game! The cast of characters are all endearing and the story never fails to keep me interested. The transition to turn based combat might be jarring for old fans, but give it a chance and it'll grow on you! For newcomers, this is a brand new cast and story so you can jump in without having played past games and it does a pretty good job of filling you in with what you need to know.As for the steel book, it's pretty nice. Not among my favourites, but better than many low effort steel books.

The combat system from the old brawlers was in need of an overhaul, taking the RPG route was a good choice. The combat is better on par with the likes of Persona & Dragon Quest. There are a lot of nods to the old Yakuza games along with RPGs.The same crazy Yakuza stories are still here with solid mini games and side quests. The new characters are a breath of fresh air along with the new city. It’s a true improvement on a well known franchise which few games seem to manage these days.

A great game with lots of content and side activities to do. If you're on edge about getting it due to the fact it doesn't have the traditional combat - forget about that. The new combat takes a little bit to get used to but it's great and requires some strategy (duh). The story is one of the best if not THE best. I'd say buy it, just because it's Yakuza.

I'm a big fan of the Yakuza series and I was a little hesitant about this one at first, given the JRPG direction the game had moved in. Having taken the plunge I gotta say I loved this game. Cast of characters were charming, the combat system was pretty simple and fun to use, great graphics and plenty of nods to the previous games of the series.

Taking my time with this one and exploring rather than rushing the story. I love it, Same twists and humour as the others in the genre. Only downside so far is that I am not a big fan of the new way of fighting. Hopefully it'll grow on me.

This game is fantastic, extremely underrated in the west. Give it a chance and you will find an adventure that matches the level of any great action RPG. Also, you don't need to play the previous one to enjoy this.

Yakuza Like a Dragon is the best game I've played in years. The story draws you in, and the combat is a great departure from the button bashing of previous Yakuza games.

Really wacky and fun JRPG with a lot of longevity. Wasn't too keen on the turn based combat in the context of this type of city-explorer game, but got used to it.

Surprised by the new fighting system.Story and new characters is a nice refresh, with a dose of familiar gameplay from the classic Yakuza series.
