The WWF, not the World Wildlife Fund but the World Wrestling Federation. Back in the day it was full of big egos, big hairdos and big pantomime storylines.WWE Legends of WrestleMania attempts to recreate the Wrestlemania events of the time, the biggest events in the wrestling calendar. As you can imagine, it features many of the big name wrestlers of the time from Jake `The Snake' Roberts and Hulk Hogan to Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Undertaker. For some of them it's the first time they've been in a game since the 16-bit days.Graphically, the game is a bit of a mixed bag. The wrestlers themselves look fantastic, all sweat and muscles. Their features, movements and even their hair is pretty accurately modelled, making it ideal for fans of the cult characters. The fans in the background are all animated and can be seen holding banners, but it's when these fans come to the foreground that things start to get a bit messy. It's still not enough to put you off the game and during some matches you won't notice it at all.Fight options vary from a straight forward one on one ring match to reliving famous Wrestlemania fights. Presentation-wise it all seems very authentic; entry music, authentic moves and even the commentators with their funny quips. The relive or rewrite idea means you can view video of the events and then play them, either trying to complete certain events (breaking chairs over heads or tossing someone out the ring) or rewriting the match to change the outcome. It's a great idea and makes you really feel like you're playing a part of wrestling history.Controls are not what you might be expecting from a modern wresting game. It's nearer to the 16-bit Wrestlemania on the SNES where buttons are mashed to stay in the ring and only 2 buttons are really needed to pull off all sorts of moves. While some may balk at this, I found it refreshing to play something that could be picked up and played so easily. It all feels like part of a grand plan to please old wrestling fans and I for one applaud it.Playing on the online mode is fun, but can be little annoying with finding matches you want to play. The fights are fluid and the matching is fairly easy to get to grips with. It's refreshing to say that WWE Legends is something different, a mix of old style gameplay that matches the era of the wrestlers and modern HD graphics and modes. While it isn't perfect and the control method won't be to everyone's taste it's a worthy addition to any old wrestling fan's collection.

I am not one for reviews, I read what people say and I take it on board but in general I keep my opinions to myself. The negative reviews of this game that you can see make some valid points but they are missing the point of this game altogether. Last night I cracked open the game and a couple of my mates came round and we had a laugh and tonight my brother, another friend (and rumour has it my dad too!)are coming round for more of the same. The game plays smoothly enough, the commentary is character specific, the video clips of Tour mode are fantastic and actually when you delve into Relive, Rewrite & Redefine - there is plenty to do on your own without a couple of bottles of Grolsch,Doritos and your friends. The game is designed to be picked up and played, all abilities can get involved and yet it still allows for a further layer of expertise as you get more proficient allowing you to string together some great combos as well as some nice finishers - from Ravishing Rick Rude's Rude Awakening to to Ultimate Warriors Big Splash - the end of a fight is easy enough to do that we all get the satisfaction of finishing a fight off in the most spectacular style.Note - the chance to opt out of pinning someone by accident when you haven't finished your objectives or simply finished pummelling your opponent is very helpful - nice touch!Downsides are the crowd can get a little dodgy from some angles in the ring but you will only ever notice momentarily and does it really matter?Secondly, the rendering of the characters is a little exaggerated to say the least (King Kong Bundy looks toned!) but this is how they are meant to be remembered - as wrestling gods.Lastly - I think we can all name wrestlers that would be great to have on here that aren't- Sid Justice, Lex Luger, Tugboat/Typhoon & Earthquake, Bushwackers, Nasty Boys, Doink and more managers but these could be unlockables or there will be someone who has mapped out how to build them but I have a feeling that we could be in for some updates/downloads to add to this as we go along...If those are the only downfalls and you were a fan of wrestling in the 'olden days' then this game is an absolutely must have... just don't let your dad know about it!

This is a great game for old school wrestling fans as it contains over 40 legends from the 1980s and 1990s including Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Bret Hitman Hart, Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin and The Rock. The game is also great for new fans too as the connective feature with Smackdown vs RAW 2009 allows you to import your favourite current wrestlers into the game for example you could have the legend killer Randy Orton facing the Great one The Rock. The gameplay controls have an arcade feal about them making it easy for anyone to play. All the Wrestlemania arenas from 1 to 15 are here including the great Wrestlemania 9 roman coliseum venue.Game Modes include Exhibition mode which includes the Royal Rumble match type plus you can have title matches too with the world, tag team, incontinental and million dollar title belts. The Wrestlemania Tour Mode lets you relive, rewrite and redefine classic matches from the first 15 wrestlemanias plus theres create modes and online play too. The wrestlers look great some even have alternate attires to choose from. The entrances are cool with there entrance music and video playing as they come to the ring. This game really takes me back to when wrestling was fun to watch and now it's even more fun to play thanks to this game.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't get goose bumps watching the intro of the Wrestlemania VI feature in this game - the first wrestlemania I ever saw and what a main event it was! The Warrior is The Ultimate Legend and getting to recreate the match was superb, I'm 26 but felt like a big kid again! I admit the amount of moves is limited compared to previous WWF (yes I'm old school none of this WWE nonsense) titles but theres a few new twists in there to keep it interesting. For £27.99 it's great for memory lane for you old school wrestling fans and good for a laugh but it'll never be a Res Evil 5 or Call Of Duty beater for perfection. One last comment is the online match creater is rubbish...as is the Street Fighter IV, only really good online system I've seen is for Mortal Combat vrs DC Comics if im honest. COD is not bad. My last gripe.. where's Earthquake and Texas Tornado? Or The Rockers and The Bushwackers-the only tag team is the Russian and the Iranian boy! and Mick Foley?

This is my first review. When i saw the advert for this game on SvsR 09 i couldn't wait, i bought it yesterday and im okay with it but when you know how good the SvsR series has been they could have done so much better with this. They have left out a few wrestlers as well as completley change the controls which give's it the anoying arcade style gaming.Don't get me wrong the game is still very entertaining just wish they put more into it.

This is a brilliant piece of wrestling history. Filled with a large variety of wrestling footage from some of the greatest matches of all time and a simple, easy to learn and extremely entertaining arcade style fighting mechanics makes this a most worthwhile purchase for the wrestling enthusiast or casual arcade gamer. Anyone who owns Smackdown Vs Raw 2009 can also import the 2009 superstars and CAS data, greatly expanding the game.

This game is actually really good a lot of people give it a bad review but it's not it's really good I love the graphics all of the legends and you can import smackdown vs raw 2009 which is great the only rubbish thing is it's only wrestlemania and one royal rumble arena's it would have been good if the old raw arena was in it but it it isn't.Overall great fun game with amzing graphics and a very good selection of legends.

I had ordered a LOT of products at one time and they all came the same time. I was charged postage which I knew wasn't right as all items where free postage. I thought it was this product and the communication was amazing with these people. Turned out it wasn't this product. I apologise immensely for this and thank you so much.

this is in my opinion one of the best wrestling games available! would be better if owen hart and dynamite kid were on it though, but we all know that probably wont ever happen , its a real shame though that the fans don't get to celebrate their legendary status. all wrestling fans should own this game
