First of all, I should start by saying that I am a BIG fan of the successful wrestling simulatorSmackdown vs Raw. The major complaint I had for the last couple of years though, was the fact thatWWE & THQ didn't include as many legends in the game anymore, which means no nostalgia for true wrestlingfans, no dream matches, no thrills and blasts from the past. When I first saw the trailer for this game, I though "what the heck, they look much too cartoonish and bulkedup". Indeed they do. But boy, does this work in the context! WWE Allstars is by far them most dynamic andengaging wrestling game I ever played on the PS3. The fun factor is at its peak here and you'll surely findyourself grabbing the controller over and over again.Matches are more difficult than the ones offered by theSvR simulator and far more spectacular. Truth is, simulating reality may become boring at times, especially ifthe gameplay doesn't present a real challenge anymore once you've mastered it. That was the case with SvR.WWE Allstars is here to turn things around. The look and colors of the game, even with the bulked up wrestlers, offers a very stylish and mesmerizing experience. Ironically, the facial features of the wrestlers resemble the real life superstars even better than the SvR series. If you were looking for a game that really offers the essence of every wrestler, this is it, and it's loads of fun!The only small complaints I have with this game:- the entrances are much too short, you don't even get to see the superstars entering the ring, which is a bitfrustrating, since most of the fans would love to be able to enjoy the entrance themes and atmosphere.I would have loved to see The Hitman giving his glasses away for example, or Shawn Michaels doing his in-ringdance, etc.- there's no tag team option available for cage matches, so you won't be able to share the fun with a friend;- THQ should have found a way to include a ladder match as well, since the cage match mechanics are AWESOME.It surely could be done, maybe they just didn't want to, and saved it for the next installment. I hope so!- some big names are still missing from the legends roster, while there would have obviously been enough space toinclude them as well, since we're talking Blu-Ray here. There's a lot of awesomeness to more than make up for these small faults though:- the Path of Champions mode is awesome, you fight your way through various matches, from single to triple threat, fatal 4-ways and cage matches, until you face either the Undertaker, Randy Orton and DX. These oponents willkeep taunting you on your path, the animations and real voice overs are great.- The Fantasy Warfare mode (Legends vs current superstars) is even more mindblowing, as the pairing of thewrestlers is really smartly done. Every fantasy match features a video presentation of both wrestlersthat will send chills down your spine, no matter if you'll be rooting for the legend or the superstar.- whether you want it or not, you will end up performing some spectacular moves which can be easily triggered bysimple combinations pressed at the right time. The most damaging signature and finisher moves are shown in slowmotion, superstars usually leaping in the air and smashing their oponents agains the mat. It can't get moresatisfying like this, even the submission holds will make you feel the rush of adrenaline.- there are various alternate attires which can be unlocked, like a younger HBK, which is awesome, two additionalattires for Hulk Hogan (including the black & white Hollywood Hogan attire), switching between Bret Hart'scostumes will make him enter the aren with his pink shades either on or off, which is also really cool, thereare T-Shirts for Austin, Cena, tons of masks for Rey Mysterio, classic Undertaker, basically all you could askfor.BOTTOM LINE: grab this one, it's worth owning, not renting. You'll find yourself playing it again and again, it'sa game that won't feel outdated anytime soon. By far the most engaging and entertaining WWE game I played since the PS3 console came out.

I used to love a bit of WWF back in the days of `Hacksaw' Jim Duggan and Jake `The Snake' Roberts, but as with my favourite Spiderman costume, I eventually grew out of it. However, there will always be a part of me hankering for the like of Hulk Hogan and days spent building up my blisters on the SNES version of `Royal Rumble'. I've owned plenty of WWF/WWE games since `Royal Rumble', but none recaptured the magic, that is until `WWE All Stars', the first wrestling game in a long time to throw out any idea of realism and go for the OTT styling that you imagine is real as a kid.`WWE All Stars' pits wrestlers of yore versus their modern equivalents. Having not seen a match in 10 years, many of the modern era wrestlers are new to me. This is not an issue as the classic wrestlers are all here from Macho Man Randy Savage to Andre the Giant. Playing as super pumped up versions of these guys is brilliant. Rather than fighting realistically, each wrestler can build up their power meter and land special moves that fling the opponent in the air. This is more `Street Fighter' than true wrestling, but it's brilliant. Knocking 15 bells out of your least favourite modern era wrestler is sweet, even sweeter when you are using Mr Perfect to dish out the pain.Graphically the game has a cartoonish bent, but looks good. The fighting is arcade in style, but packs a good punch. The one reservation is the lack of decent story mode in the game; instead there are three competitions to take part in. This is offset a little by the face off mode where you play old versus new. Each battle has a great introduction with footage of the fighters in their pomp; who is the best heavy weight ever etc.? Invariable the classic WWE fighter! A great game for old fans and new fans alike.

THIS IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE LIFE LIKE!Sorry just wanted to get thta out the way with, plenty of people i know with the game say thta they don't like it becasue this isn't life like, well it's not supposed to be.If you want realism go play one of the many, many, many SVR games.Anyway, onto the review of the game, outstanding is the only word to describe it!The gameplay is great & some of the moves that you can pull off is exceptional (best with the high flyers), the extreme rules & steel cage matches are fun & the weapons in extreme rules are awesome, like a baseball bast the size of Rey Mysterio! The roster is good, could have been better but all in all my favourite legends & current superstars are there, disapointed with the lack of Chris Jericho, however all superstars have alternate attires (love Shawn Michael's & macho Man's!)On-line is also good, possibly the best for WWE, no lag whatsoever for me. Have a great record on-line as well, 25-2 :)Obviously the game isn't perfect & i will explain my gripes with it, the actual path things aren't the best, however they do break up the monotony ofplaying 10 matches in a row.Something else i dont like is that you cannot turn off KOs (can you?), if you would be able to do thisit would make matches more fun, as when your opponents health goes flashing red, one finishing move ends the match! All in all if you are a wrestling fan buy this, if you liek realism avoid it. 5 star for me!!!

got this game as a father's day present from my two beautiful girls, wasnt expecting the game to be "that good".as a big wwe fan, wrestling fan and follower, I have always said I wont buy "this years" wwe game.I feel the games have not aged well, the graphics are below par, the options are good, the downloadable CAW is brill, but the games feel old, out of date and tired.BUT every year I still get them, every year I hardly play them, but I get them based on some good selling taglines, a half decent review somewhere, and just because I like wwe.Well FINALLY, I feel we now have a game which is great, yes great. I would easily give it a 4/5 or 9/10.What I love about the game is it is fun,but it still offers everything you want from a wwe game, yes the options are limited, but the production values are fantastic. quality over quantity. This is what I want, and what the series needs, and I would be gutted, if that thq/wwe, didnt use this game, the allstars game, as a base for WWE '12, because this is what I think the game series needs.I hope also there may be another wwe allstars, but as yet, I am unfinished with this one, last night was my first night on it, and I played 7 hours straight, it was freaking awesome. The graphics are superb, the colours bright, the controls simple and streamlined, the production is high value.

I wanted to come away from the yearly WWE Sim game, and try this 'easy to pick up and play' action arcade style Wrestling Game. Although I would never want this kind of game to be my main yearly WWE Game, this sure as hell is a lot of fun to play. It has a huge roster of superstars, both current and legendary, and has a fair line up of DLC. Speaking of which, when I purchased this, it said it had the Million Dollar Pack. However, there was no code for it, nor were the superstars included on the game, but the seller was more than happy to refund me £5 for this, and considering this version of the game was £5 cheaper than the version that did not include the Million Dollar Pack, and the DLC is only £1.50 to buy on the PS Store, that was quite a steal!Very fun game to play when you want a break from the yearly wrestling sims.
