Got Wii and Wii Fit Plus for last birthday and have been exercising indoors ever since. Being a tennis fan, I couldn't resist a tennis Wii game that made me exercise all over the living room. Here is how to maximize the fun and minimize the frustrations:-play with the Wii Motion Plus for a while and let the game move your player-once you start winning consistently and your movements translate to the player on the screen, you might want to use the nunchuck and move your own player; this will take some practice-FIRST start with the VT Coach and learn the controls-SECOND play on Play mode to practice some, and play some of the games if you must (although I think these are pretty lame)-THIRD go to the World Tour create your player and move up the ranks by beating the bejesus out of everyone effortlessly. This can get boring so spice up your life with Play mode games and Training Academy.-DO USE the Training Academy while you sip coffe, it's good training, the exercises get easier and you unlock some play modes (which don't REALLY make much difference in the way your player plays)Initially, the nunchuck adds stress and you will feel like you can't possibly control the player's movements AND return the ball AND hit a winner...but it gets easier and I now enjoy the full control of being able to run back and get lobs, even smashes with a little luck. I also enjoy net play and this is almost impossible without the nunchuck.WHY FOUR STARS?Boring to move up the ranks slooooooooowlyGames are lame, sorry, not a gamerUnlocks should be easier to get, would take the boring out of the beginningEnjoy! I know I am.

I'm a middle aged guy who doesn't play video games, so I didn't want to bash this game with a 2 stars rating because it's possible I'm just a video-game rookie. I bought the Wii for my son, and the Virtua tennis for me. The game was too tough for me to play. I played the Sports and the Sports Resorts and quickly became pro on many of the games. But Virtua tennis was too hard for me. For starters, you have to move around the court with the nunchuck joystick (left hand) while swinging with your right hand. The moving around was very difficult for me. It is difficult to judge where the ball will land, and you have to put your player there FAST because the guy on the other side is hitting the ball HARD!!If you make any wrong move at all, it's too late to adjust! I played the VERY EASY setting and didn't understand why they didn't include a mode where the computer moves my character for me, and I just swing, just like the Sports and the Sports Resort. Maybe if I can just get started and like this game, I might keep playing it. But I lost 3 sets on the EASY setting and scored 0 points! In the VERY EASY setting, I managed to score a point. Why don't they put some non-pro players that I can play against just to get more familiar with the controls??? I went through the training and also played the aliens game to get practice for the movement, spent maybe 2-3 hours but just could not get a handle on this game. TOO HARD. Glad I paid only $15 for this game on Black Friday shopping spree.

I bought this game for a tennis lover and we had a lot of fun playing. It's much different from some other Wii tennis games because it's not a cartoon - it's much more realistic, which I found fun as a tennis player myself. It definitely feels like the game is responding more to your actual movements, which means you have to be a lot more precise but also have the ability to get better, too. This is unlike Wii Sports tennis where I think the result is luck more than half the time.I deducted one star because the shopping race things are weird and annoying. I just want to play tennis, not run around the court and collect things. Overall a really fun game.Like most people,I rely on honest product reviews to make purchase decisions. Because the experience of others has been so helpful to me, I try to provide honest, helpful reviews to assist other shoppers in selecting the right products for them. I hope my review has been helpful to you!

So, I'm giving this 4-5 stars because I purchased this for my husband, not myself, and he loves it! It took a bit of practice to get his swings right and, after a month of usage, he's finally winning games. Its a bit tough for people who know nothing about tennis - if you are looking for a Wii Sports Tennis this is not the game for you - but since he has taken lessons he is familiar with the swings. The matches are fun but the little practice games are really cute. There is one game you have to kill aliens before they get to your net and another game that you have to feed the right food to various animals, both of which make you practice your swings and aim. I have to say that I greatly dislike playing against him.It doesn't double the screens like Wii Sports does and its really hard to swing at the proper time and actually see the balls coming. I would also like to add that its a great workout if that's what you're looking for!

I like the game quite a bit and have played it a lot since receiving it.I am using the Wii version, with "Motion Plus". I never played real tennis so I am only comparing this to Wii Sports.Pros: realistic game play, nice variety of games / featuresCons: the trainer mode stinks. It asks you to do certain tasks but gives no feedback on how to improve. It just tells you if you passed. For some of the more difficult shots, some feedback on what you did wrong would be nice. For the online game play (main reason I purchased it), it takes a long time to find an opponent.

Exciting, fun, amazing, really addictive and makes you excercise your body, and with the extra additional features such as mini games it made it even more fun plus made me increase my accuracy of hitting the ball where i want it to go, the reason why i gave it four stars is simply because the online gaming with the Wifi connection took forever for me to get a partner and i was waiting soo long to connect i eventually disconnected and played the normal game...but its a good game on the whole otherwise especially when you have someone to play against...

It takes a bit of time to get used to how the remote reads your motion, but once you get the hang of it and its sometimes temperamental style, it's a lot of fun. Oh, and if you think you're gonna be able to sit down and just flip your wrist to play, then I definitely think you're looking for the wrong game. This game is very physical, makes you move, and the play combinations are endless

Love this tennis game. I wish Nintendo had continued to make active games like this one. Human sit down way too much. Sitting is the new heart disease. I love the fact I move and act like I'm playing tennis.
