very pleased with this item. and great at the price.I teach my rats tricks, well, the cleverer of them, anyway ;) and thought that a clicker with a pointer would be good to take them beyond tricks where you just guide them to the action with a treat in your hand. the pointer would allow for more complex action without them being distracted trying to get the treat off you before completing the action.well, as soon as I opened this, i was pleased. the pointer on mine is green. clearly they come in a range of colours, as others have described black, and the picture is orange. this is fine by me.the antenna extends smoothly, to a good length, and I like that it has a belt clip with a retractable cord as well.nice touch. probably won't be needed with my very much indoors and in one spot training sessions, but for people with dogs or other animals that might be learning out and about, this is nifty.almost as soon as I tested to see my rats responses, I had all four girls standing up in a row like meerkats trying to investigate the ball, even though only one of them at present is a trick rat, and knows how to stand on command. the others were all interested in reaching for the ball too, so perhaps this will be good for getting more of them interested in learning tricks too.

This type of product was recommended by our dog trainer as a way of encouraging my dog to walk at heel. I do not use the clicker. Instead, I taught him (the dog, not the trainer!) to touch the small ball on the end of the stick with his nose whilst it hung down from my waist on the left side, slightly extended for a length suited to him. Initially, I trained him by getting him to touch my left hand with his nose with a hidden treat inside whilst saying "touch" and then rewarding him with a treat from my right hand. (He didn't get the hidden treat). I then progressed to smearing the small ball with peanut butter or coconut oil (whilst it hung from my left-hand side)which encouraged him to touch the hanging stick at my side when I said "touch". Once he understood that, I discarded the peanut butter/oil & rewarded him with a treat from my right hand. He learnt that when I said touch and he touched the ball with his nose, he was rewarded with a treat from my right hand. Finally, now, when I say "touch", he walks close to me & I sometimes treat him, but only when he has walked by my side. This may sound a lot to do, but it only took a few days of training (my dog is a Cavapoo) & it is working very well.Read full review...

I love this little gadget - clicker and target in one! When extended it can be flimsy so I don't extend it all the way. I have a highly trained pug that I trained without a clicker. I started using it this weekend and I have taught him to walk on his hind legs, growl on command (he could bark on command already but the clicker allowed me to capture and reward the growl which I don't think I could have done with out it) I was teaching him the walking trick using the target and the growl trick using the clicker so it was handy it was all as one rather than two separate things to hold. We also do agility with him and his only weakness is the weave so I am going back to basics and target training to use the weave confidently. This would be also great for using on a bird! Great little piece of kit … would recommend!

This is an absolute must have if you are trying to train a specific command. My dog was confused for a few mins but as soon as she grasped the concept of the target stick we haven’t looked back. It’s very easy to hold ,or attach to a treat bag or belt with a clip that has a cord that winds in and out when you want to use the the stick. It’s lightweight too which is a must as I have painful hands. I have seen similar items to this one being sold at triple the price. I consider it excellent value for money as it also includes a clicker which not all have.

thank you Amazon for replacing my stick after the first one disappeared in transit :-)the product itself is great as a combination clicker/stick....love this function......only niggle...the touch ball at the end could done with being twice the size.having used a different brand with a soft ball at the end the touch stick, I can see myself adjusting this one.overall as a functional product - great - but as for design could do with improvement.the clicker end is comfortable to hold in hand :-)

Excellent design, well made, works to clcik and point with one hsnd, allowing a free hand to e.g. offer treats. It can be used as a high quality clicker alone by merely collapsing the telescopic stick/ball. Extendable attacher (which has a separation clip built in) has brooch clip to attach to clothing, and a spring-loaded string to allow the device to hang free and reel in if you let it go. All in all, it's a well designed aid to training at a good price.

This item is good as it is a clicker and a target stick. I bought it to train my cat (yes, cat!) He is an indoor cat and I thought it would give him some fun & stimulation apart from watching birds out the window! To be honest, I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised! It really works and he picked it up pretty quickly. I don't think it would have been so successful without the target stick. So - great product. I would recommend it.

Have been using this for for about a week and very pleased. My only complaint is that it's quite quiet. Catching behaviors to click in a house with a 7 year is tricky enough and multiple times my dog hasn't heard it. Also the book doesn't really touch on charging it. clicking and treating so your quickly learns the association. Doesn't take long but is key in starting off well. One star missing for the quietness.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the training tool is sturdy well made and a lot better quality than what I was expecting. You have options to attach the target stick to your belt so that you can free up your hands if necessary. You can extend the target stick to suit what ever training you are doing. Overall this is an excellent item and I highly recommend you purchase it. Great price great value.

I bought this for our puppies after the normal clicker was a great success, and it is great. The only problem I had was my son took it to use with his cats. He said it works great with them too so I can recommend them for either dogs or cats! Well worth the money. I wouldn't be without some form of clicker now because my dogs come running as soon as I click it even when ignoring my call.

Got one of these a few years ago from Pets at Home for my rabbit. It was great, but the time required to training a rabbit, I didn't have, so although it was working, it went in a draw and now lost.Few years later, got a cat, decided to get the same clicker wand, but no one sells it apart from Amazon, and on the 2nd click, the cat was following it. Training is going to be a breeze.

Love this! The cheapest one I could find, yet it’s better than the expensive ones. I just wanted a target for my rabbits, but it has a clicker too, which I didn’t even know! Training is going great so far! I love that it’s retractable so it’s easily stored, and I love the wrist strap, so you can let go of it to get more treats. Definitely the best target!

Using with an African Grey Parrot, not as flimsy as I expected having read others reviews but although having seen other people's feedback I am extra careful. Clicker is great and loud enough. Instructions being in German are a downside but it's pretty straightforward how you use it and you can always Youtube videos if you get stuck.

I saw a friend using one of these & wanted one to try with my dog training school! It makes such a difference especially when training small dogs, no more bending down to the dogs to show them what I want from them, it's so easy to use.My only concern is that the stick is a little flimsy & may get bitten.........but not so far!
