The Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature bottles are made from plastic and curved in the middle of the bottle which makes them more comfortable to hold. Printed on the side of the bottle is the bottle brand as well as markings for the different measurements of liquid able to fit inside. All Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature bottles also have a dotted line which measures to the amount of water needed to use with a Tommee Tippee steriliser.Bottles come with a teat and a lid. The teats given with the bottles are the slow flow teats so if you have a child over than 3 months you'll have to buy faster flow teats. The teats screw on to the top of the bottles really easily and unlike with Avent bottles, they go on straight and even every single time. I always had problems with Avent bottles leaking because the teats weren't on right but I have never had a problem with Tommee Tippee bottles so far.All bottles should be cleaned with normal soapy water and rinsed before sterilising properly. You can clean bottles before with a bottle brush if you want to and all Tommee Tippee sterilisers come with one. My bottles have been through our electric steriliser over and over again and they still look and feel like new. I have heard people complain about the measurement markings on the bottles fading over time but I haven't experienced this yet.The most important thing is how my daughter gets on with this bottle brand. She has taken to the bottles/ teats so easily and quickly compared with what we were using before. She never struggles to get milk from the teat and is always happy to keep drinking until she is full.

Being new parents we did the whole 'buy everything without knowing if we'll use it' - certainly as far as bottles went. After buying numerous flowed teats for the Avent bottles to reduce colic someone recommended Tommee Tippee were good for colicky babies. Much better flow (not too fast but not overly slow), much less of an issue with wind and actually much nicer to hold.I find these really well designed, especially that the teat doubles up as a seal, unlike Avent which requires a separate seal and teat - it's one less thing to wash/sterilise.Pros:Aided in reducing colic in our newbornEasy to holdFewer parts to clean/sterilise compared to Avent (4 pieces rather than 5)Well thought out andpracticalCheaper than AventCons:Little bit difficult to get last few ml outCan't fit more than 5 bottles in a typical Avent steam steriliserLids can pop off from steam/pressure after making up a bottleUPDATE - I thought I'd update this as we're now nearly 2 years on from first buying this. We have put all but two bottles in storage as our daughter is now on only 1 bottle before bed time. These bottles have lasted and lasted and look and work fine. We had upgraded the teats from #1 to #2 and then #3 but in all honesty when your baby needs faster flow I'd just recommend going straight to #3.Whether this bottle was the answer to the colic issue or if it was a combination of this and Infacol I don't know, all I know is if your baby suffers from colic it is worth giving this a try (we tried all brands and found this to work for us).

I have purchased the first set of these bottles after things didn't work out with the NUK First choice bottles, my baby was drinking on them for hours without getting much milk out, but I had purchased them reading reviews on Amazon and because they supported breastfeeding. So I decided to give these a go and i wasn't disappointed at all. They're great because your baby has to keep his mouth wide open, like he would when breastfeeding and I found that with these I managed to get him back to breastfeeding a bit. With the NUK bottles the mouth doesn't have to be as wide open and they have ruined my chances of breastfeeding, my baby wouldn't latch on properly after using them and I had to start expressing every day. After using these sometimes I can get him back to breastfeeding, although now he definitely prefers the bottle, in the future, if I had another baby and I needed to give him a bottle once in a while, I would definetely use these bottles from the beginning. The milk flows nicely but not too fast. I cannot say about colic as my baby never suffered with them, so sorry I can't give you an opinion on that.I have just purchased my second set of them and waiting on them to come, they're definitely a good value for money!Another PRO of these bottles is the fact that you can warm up the milk directly in the microwave, which isn't possible with every brand of bottles.I really cannot find any CON and I have been using these for 3 months now!

I swear by Tommee Tippee bottles...in my opinion they are the best make out there. This is my second set of these. The first set lasted a year and a half until my daughter decided to start chewing on the teats and made holes in them. My daughter is 21 months old so technically shouldn't really be using these anymore, but she has autism and refuses to drink out of anything else and panics if I give her anything else to drink from. Also, she has never had a dummy so her bottles are her comfort thing, bless her. I would recommend washing these by hand and not putting in the dishwasher...this was another reason why I decided to purchase a new set.Reason being is because the bottles are easily stained and her last set ended up becoming bright orange...even though I always swill off my plates etc before putting them in the dishwasher, there is always a bit of residue left, especially after an Indian takeaway with the orange ghee residue being left on the plates...so these bottles got really stained...however other plastic items I put in the dishwasher didn't stain, so I would say these bottles are easily stained. If you want to keep them looking new then hand wash only. I think the dishwasher also made the teats more brittle, hence the holes from my daughter chewing. The new teats are still going strong at the moment from handwashing only. Great price for genuine Tommee Tippee bottles. Would highly recommend!

I bought these bottles to replace my Philips Avent ones as I was fed up with the Avent ones leaking. I also previously used Boots Essentials bottles except the measurements didn't seem to quite match up (the ml didn't match with the fl oz for either UK or US fl oz, so I didn't actually know whether it was the ml that were out or the fl oz)! These bottles are very comfortable to hold, and the teats seem to result in my baby having much less wind when compared with the Avent and Boots teats. The tops fix easily and securely and as a result there are no leaks whatsoever, and the caps also fit nice and securely and I like their shape which makes them a bit easier to remove, especially if you're trying to do so one-handed!The measurements on the bottles can be hard to see, although if the bottles are being prepared in good light this hasn't proven to be a problem and you quickly become aware of the measurements enabling you to do most of it by eye as it were and just double-check on the scale anyway. Having had the aforementioned problem with inaccurate scales, I'd rather have an accurate scale which handily emphasises typical-sized feeds than worry about whether or not the proportion of formula matches with the amount of water in the bottle. They also work brilliantly with the

I got these for my little girl when she started having the occasional bottle, aged around 10 months. Prior to that, she would not take any bottle but the shape of these teats seemed to suit her and with very little fuss she started drinking from a bottle! I especially liked that she enjoyed these bottles but it had no apparent affect on her latch so she could continue breast feeding with no impact. The bottles are very easy to clean due to the wide neck and shape. We get the tommee tippee bottle brush which cleans them ideally. They also go in the dishwasher, although we do not wash the teats in the dishwasher as we found they easily became coloured with whatever else was put in with them.If you are able to run your dishwasher just for your baby's things then this won't be an issue for you! We found it just as easy to wash them by hand with soapy water, then rinse and place in the tommee tippee microwave steriliser for sterilising. An excellent purchase. The shape of the bottle also means that our little girl could hold them herself from when she started using them, which helped her with her developing sense of independence.

You cannot find these bottles at a better price anywhere else. You get six generously sized 260ml / 9 oz feeding bottles with the slow flow (Stage 1) teat.I am a huge fan of Tommee Tippee products in general for my boys and these have aided immensely when weaning both my sons. I haven't had problems of them rejecting these bottles even though the boys were exclusively breastfed for the first six months of their lives. It helps that I started giving them the occasional bottle of pumped milk starting from 2 months so they would get used to having a bottle option. For this, the provided 'slow flow' Stage1 teats were just right. However, from 3 months onwards, the boys moved to the Stage 2 teats, and then they switched to Stage 3 teats from 6 months. This means that there are quite a few bottles I have ordered with 'wasted' Level 1 teats that will remain unused. This is the reason I am giving just 4 stars instead of 5. The bottles are fantastic, but I wish they gave the option of either ordering the bottles with Stage 2 or 3 teats, or even better, offering the 6 bottle pack with 2x Stage 1, 2x Stage 2 and 2x Stage 3 teats.

I bought a pack of six at a fraction of price compared to the local retailers here in Sweden. The teat is shaped in a way that my son sort of 'chews' with lips and mouth (similar movement when breastfeeding) instead of sucks; plus they feel very soft even though they are made from silicon. It is easy to clean the bottles and I like the shape and how they feel in my hand. I don't like the cap though as it is sometimes hard to pull it off, and almost impossible to do it with one hand. I wish Tommee Tippee will come up with better caps in the future. Otherwise, I am very happy with the purchase.Edit: I have been using these bottles for over 1.5 years now (we just buy new teats every few months)and they are still great. There are some scratches on the outside and one of the bottles got a scratch mark on the inside so we binned that one. Otherwise the markings are still there, milk doesn't leak and the colour hasn't changed. They are good quality product. Still happy.

I planned to breastfeed my baby and bought these as a 'just in case' as they were great value, and were invaluable when I had my 1st child 4 years ago.I sometimes ended up expressing and my husband used these to feed baby when I was ready to give up (around week 4 when I felt like chopping them off...ladies you will know what I mean!!)I plodded on and am still breastfeeding after 5 months. These bottles are still handy when there's a bit of spare formula after I've used some for mixing up baby rice/porridge. My baby preferes these to the avent one that came with my breast pump, as I think the shape is more like a breast and the teet isn't too long.If you are reading this prior to your baby coming and do plan to breastfeed, make sure you buy some Lansinoh Nipple cream, it is AMAZING and was the one thing that kept me going. Used it with my last baby too and fed him for 13 months.

Exactly what you'd expect from Tommee Tippee, these bottles are of a consistent good quality and are nice and child friendly thanks to their rounded shape and no prominent edges for a baby to hurt themselves on.I bought these as an addition to our existing Tommee Tippee bottles as my son has moved onto larger measures as he's growing. The only reason that these bottles lose a star is the fact that I could envisage the majority of people being in the same position as me whereby they are buying these for a growing child. With this in mind, it would be great if they were offered with an option of teat as we removed the brand new size 1 teats from these bottles and replaced them with vari-flow's.Not great for the environment or my pocket as the 1's will likely never get used and I have to shell out for the next size up.

Background: Baby is 5 weeks old, being fed mostly breast but one or two bottles of expressed milk or formula each day. We've been using Avent bottles, which I think are a lot better constructed than these Tommee Tippee ones. The Avent ones are easier to put together, a lot sturdier construction and a less ridiculous shape (seriously, we can fit only three of these in the gigantic microwave steriliser because they're so absurdly shaped, and they're no more comfy to handle than a normal bottle!)However... Despite the Avent bottles being better for parents, our baby does feed much better from these bottles. With the Avent ones, the first five minutes of feeding time is taken up by the baby struggling. With these bottles, baby latches on immediately and enjoys the feed.So.. Five stars purely because baby loves them!

I have ordered so many of these over the last two years as they are great for my son. He's nearly 2 now and still uses them like a baby. He has started chewing through the teats as he has a full set of teeth now, but they are such a comfort thing to him that they come everywhere with us. He even takes them to bed with him (filled with water). We have never experienced problems with colic or anything like that, so can't comment on how good they are for that. The only thing I would say is that I put them in the dishwasher once and they discoloured dreadfully. They ended up looking so disgusting that I binned those ones and ordered more,so perhaps best to avoid putting them in the dishwasher unless you are certain there is nothing else in there which could impart a nasty orangey/red colour to the bottle plastic.

Good product but a couple of things to watch out for with the Tommee Tippee bottles… make sure you run your finger around the inside top of the bottle as for some reason most brushes don't clean it particularly well no matter how hard you try. There's usually a greasy film left if you don't.One other thing… I really, really, really wish they sold these with an option for different flow teats! We've had three children, all using these bottles over the years and it's always been the same case. We end up throwing out so many slow flow ones. Obviously it's just a way to get a few more £££s from buyers but it's also really not great for the environment.I'd rather they sold these without teats at all as many start out with the smaller size bottles so could easily transfer the slow flow teats from those.

Just received the tommee tipee bottles this morning and they look really good. My sister in law has had these bottles and the first set come with the light writing so she sent them back and got some new bottles with black writing on and you can see the writing fine in all light, I have checked mine today and they are the same so it looks like they have solved the problem with the writing. Not due to use my bottles for a few weeks yet but I have fed my nephew using the same type of bottle and they seem fine. I want to have the option of breast and bottle feeding and these seem the best on the market for this,if my baby does get colic I will look at other options but at the moment being able to swop between breast and bottle is important and outweighs other the other little niggles the bottle has.

I bottle feed my baby and the only bottles she will take are these as the teats are extremly close size etc to a nipple. They can work out to be quite expensive but to buy in bulk it works out a lot cheaper! They are easy to use, the teat and ring come apart easily enough for washing. Teats are very soft and bottles are comfortable to hold.Only problem with these bottles are, my baby is now on 9 oz and there isn't enough room in the bottle for the water and all the powder so end up spilling a bit of the bottle. Should go up to 10 oz or leave more room at the top. The teats also collapse in on themselves a lot meaning my baby gets frustrated as she has to break away to let the teat come out again. But these are the only bottles she will drink from and were a good buy
