I bought this in August 2011 ready for the birth of my first son.A really handy little set up, although initially I only used the thermometer - he didn't have much hair and I was still frightened to use the nail clippers as - even though these were safety clippers - I'd heard tales of parents who had unwittingly caught the tip of their babies fingers! A few weeks of baby scratching my breasts during feeding and I soon got over that fear - and the clippers never let me down. The emery boards, soft enough for my son's tiny fingernails, also came in useful.By the same time the following year I'd used the lot, comb and scissors for a hair trim, even the nasal aspirator with one particularly nasal-snot-bubbling cold! Then I left it abroad (with relatives) so that I always had a set there if I needed it.Now my second child is on its way and a new Tommy Tippee set was top of my list. It will be nice to a have a fresh starter set for the little one, but also handy to have one at home and one abroad. My only gripe (if you can call it that) would be that it only comes in the black set (never considered it the first time around, but now I think colour coded for multiple kids would be great!)

I've read mixed reviews about this product. I have found it useful. I have used the scissors every day for opening milk cartons when out with the baby. I have also found that they cut her nails very easily. I wouldn't say they were particularly robust but they've certainly been fine for what I needed. The thermometer seems to work to me but fortunately my little girl hasn't had any particular illnesses other than sniffles. However they seem accurate as far as I can tell and I've been happy to rely on them. The brush is soft and so I use it regularly without any complaints from baby. She hasn't got enough hair for the comb so I haven't used it yet. I also haven't used the toothbrush as I bought a separate Colgate one.The thing for the nose I haven't used as I can't see the point of it.So in summary I think it's a useful product but maybe you could spend less money buying the few items you really need as not of the items I use are kept together in the case. However the amount I've used the scissors alone would probably mean the product was value for money.

I bought this kit whilst pregnant in preparation for my little ones arrival, and I’m so pleased I did. My baby was 3 weeks early and delivered by C-section, which meant his lungs weren’t entirely cleared of the mucus build-up. When he was just over a week old, there was an episode where he was struggling to breath due to the mucus build-up in his nose and mouth, it was terrifying. We quickly grabbed the suction tool from the kit, and gently extracted the mucus from his nose. It was so effective and helped my little one so much. This happened again just a week later and using the same technique we cleared the mucus with the tool, which worked wonders. Even if those two episodes were the only use of the kit I’d purchase it again. However the other components of the kit are so handy, I regularly use the nail clippers and mini nail file, and will be using the comb and brush as my little ones hair grows. It’s nice and compact and everything inside is easily accessible. Good purchase and worth the money, would recommend.

I bought this when my son was born and we use it every day.The brush and comb work well but may be too soft for helping with cradle-cap.The nail clippers are brilliant for little nails but I would recommend clipping when baby is completely and deeply asleep to avoid clipping fingers by mistake when your little one thinks its fun to squirm! The nail files are a bit useless for babies but work well on adults. I replaced them with a good quality glass nail file instead which is better. The toothbrush is good for gently cleaning milk deposits off the gums. I'm not sure how it deals with teeth yet, though.I haven't used the scissors yet so I can't comment but I like that they have rounded ends tohelp prevent accidental stabbing. The thermometer and aspirator have been brilliant for helping when my little man had a nasty cold (the aspirator worked better if he had been breathing steam for a little while)

Have a baby due soon and so many moms have spoken highly of this. Love how many things come with it. Wouldn’t need the thermometer as I bought an infrared one that can be used to measure from forehead/wrist or the ear. I’m not too fond of these thermometers but its great that this comes with literally everything that you need including nasal aspirator. Saved me from having to buy it seperately which can be expensive and it’s in a neat handy shape. I’ve seen some moms have one with a loooong tube having to hold certain parts in their mouth while holding baby still with one arm and holding another part in the other. This one is a lot simpler and so much better. Does the job just as good.Loving the handy case which makes it a lot easier for use on the go when youre travelling

Everyone keeps saying the nose aspirator doesn't work and at first I thought that too. It depends on the type of bogey you're trying to get out!! If you can see where it is and its just out of reach with a cotton bud then the aspirator works. Personally I have no idea why a baby would need a comb but there you go. The toothbrush is also quite big for when a couple of milk teeth start to appear, and the hairbrush is a little hard. I have a proper wooden one with horse hair bristles and its lovely and soft. The nailclippers and files are fine although the clippers dont work on newborns as their nails are too soft and just bend. My baby is 3 months and now his nails are harder the clippers work perfectly. My advice - if its on offer its fine, just don't buy it at full price.

Great little kit for a new baby! What I like with the scissors is they bend slightly so you don't have to worry about catching the fingers and it makes the nails more rounded so less faffing. Picture of the scissors to show the bend!Trick is to do it with a sleeping or sleepy baby! Less objection then and relaxed hands! The little comb is great with the rounded tips also. With the tooth brush we used it after applying some scalp oil to remove cradle cap! He doesn’t need a tooth brush yet as he’s a month old and we didn’t want to make the actual soft brush in this kit oily so the tooth brush came in handy to gently take away the flakes! He seemed to enjoy it too!All in all a great starter kit, saves searching around for all the separate pieces!Would recommend

I bought it when I was still pregnant so didn’t want to rush with a review. Now my daughter is 6m old and has used all of the items in the set I can only say that it’s amazing set. Honestly, nasal suction thingy is superb. It does the job. It doesn’t have to fit in the nose, just has to touch baby’s nostril. Then gently release it and boom- no more snotty nose. Then just rinse out. Hair brush is amazing, using daily. Comb is suitable from about now, as she has more hair. Scissors and files are great. Thermometer I haven’t used as I bought the ear instant one. And the little clippers I haven’t used because I never use clippers, and wouldn’t know how. I love the case, as even now, more than 6m on,all is in the case, at the arms reach to where I usually sit.

Our baby will be born in a month so I haven't used this yet except for the thermometer, which I tried, and works perfectly.I have regular sized hands and all the tools are very comfortable to handle for me. Quality seems good and the pouch is a great idea in order to keep everything handy, organised and travel ready.Update: 26/11This set is great! Our baby loves the brush and we use the scissors all the time (the clippers are good too but LO moves way too much and it’s impossible to hurt him with the scissors, so we choose those by now). Today we used the nasal aspirator for the first time and it’s perfect! Baby hates the “feeling” but it truly works as it creates a perfect seal in his little nostrils.Definitely recommend this set.

It is a nice wee pack for first-time mums, with everything you need in it. I have used everything except the toothbrush (as my baby has no teeth) and everything seems to work great. The thermometre gets a lot of use in this house as I am an over protective mother! I like to use it in her armpit rather than orally as it is easier and works fine this way. One warning I do have (and I took off a star for this) is that, as always, Tommee Tippee are a little behind on NHS recommendations, and the nasal respirator is no longer recommended! I didn't know this and used it on my baby when she had a cold and it gave her a nosebleed! Other than this though, this set is worth getting for the other items and for the handy little bag it comes in.

I brought this product as part of my must have for my newborn. I like the fact that all these little individual items are kept together in a pouch, which makes it easier to take with you if you are traveling. However, I didn't really use all of the items, e.g scissors, comb, emery boards and the thermometer (I prefered using my own ear thermometer as it was a lot quicker to get a reading). For some people, they may find it's much cheaper to purchase the individual items that they would use and put together their own kit but as a first time mum, I saw that this ticked everything off my list that I should have, and also that it was the brand Tommee Tippee that persuaded me to purchase it.

The Tommee Tippee Healthcare Kit arrived very quickly and very well packaged. All the accessories (Digital oral thermometer, nasal aspirator, toothbrush, emery board, nail clippers, scissors, brush & comb) come very neatly packaged in a small, neat carry case so you can easily pop it in your bag and take it anywhere with you. I'm a first time mum, so this kit is ideal for me as it comes with everything I could need. All the accessories feel very good quality and well made, so hopefully they will last for quite some time. All the accessories work perfectly, and the brush is lovely and soft. Overall I'm really happy with this kit, and could recommend to any new mum.

This grooming kit would be an ideal gift for any parent to be. It has more or less everything you would need. Super easy to use and comes in a pouch which you can take anywhere with you. Baby scissors are perfect for trimming nails. The brush and comb set are food quality bristles are nice and soft. The only thing I didn't like from the kit was the nasal aspirator there is hardly any suction on there and did not clean her nose at all couldn't pull anything out. We ended up buying the snuffle babe nasal aspirator which is amazing. I would still recommend this grooming kit as it is worth the price as everything else is really good.

I bought this for my new grandson. Well, a little add on gift for his parents I suppose. It has all those little important things you need with a new baby and I love the fact that they are all there in a lovely little case. The nail clippers are so important in those first couple of weeks, when they keep scratching their own face and the thermometer is a must with all babies and children. You can use this one under the arm, which is easier with a baby. The temperature is usually 1degree less under the arm so you need to add one on to find a more accurate temperature. All in all a great gift set that anyone would love.

This is a great little starter kit if you have had a child or know someone who is having a child. It has all the essentials in there such as a thermometer, nail clippers, hair brush. With the thermometer I did feel this is better for older children as its an oral one. It is easier to use it under the armpit than in the mouth of a baby. The nail clippers are a nice thing to have as when looking at my clippers and the baby clippers they do feel smaller and a bit easier to use. For the hair brush I will be using it but once the baby is a lot older. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
