I bought this game specifically to learn my way around Donnington Park. Having looked at the glossier Tourist Trophy I decided on this, purely because I'd played GT4 (Tourist Trophy is GT4 with bikes rather than cars) until I was bored of it, and wanted something different. The balance and physics of the bikes is amazing. I'm a real biker, and I think this is as close as you can get to the riding experience without leaving your armchair. I've only been lucky enough to ride a few of the bikes included in the game in real life, but their character traits are all there, from the R6 lacking midrange to the accuracy of the CBR6RR.This is not really an arcade game, and it requires patience to gain any level of skill on the bikes. They're not forgiving - but then, neither are real motorbikes. All in all, a smashing game, I'd give it 5 stars if the graphics were as good as Tourist Trophy - but don't let this put you off. Take a look at the downloadable intro movie, this is exactly the way the replays look when in the game.

This is a proper simulator with easily the best game physics of any motorbike game on the PS2 (I own TT Superbikes, Tourist Trophy and MotoGP titles, none of which come close). Too much throttle with too much lean angle means a high-side, trail-brake too hard into a corner and you low-side. The graphics are very good (think project gotham racing) and the tracks are varied and interesting, including Donington Park, Valencia, Assen, Laguna Seca as well as various fictitious road tracks. My only major gripe in the gameplay is the 'intimidation' factor, where a rider up your rear end means a racing heart, heavy breathing and ultimately slowing down due to being intimidated - bit of a nonsense aspect which unfortunately can't be turned off.Despite that, the career mode is still addictive and involving as you progress through the seasons riding naked, supersport and superbike classes each year, your rider improving in abilities as you go on. A great sim and, in my opinion, easily the best motorbike game on the console.

Ok, the Graphics aren't as good as Tourist Trophy but this game has a number of significant advantages. Firstly, it's difficult. take the riding and braking aids away and it is a genuinely tricky matter trying to get your bike around a track or circuit without lowsiding or highsiding. Throttle use has to be done progressively otherwise the back end will skip out, and too much front brake on the turn will take the front end away. Hit another bike and that's it. Wheelspin and wheelies are easily done and the bikes mimic the engine characteristics quite well, ie a V twin is a lot more difficult to ride simply because you need the power to be at certain revs to get the best from the engine. You can adjust the abilities of your competitors, unlike Tourist Trophy which was laughably easy after a while, and you get some interesting tracks. Overall, its a far more absorbing game even if it doesn't look as good as some other Motorcycle simulators out thereCheers

Being a self confessed bike addict I decided after reading reviews to give this a chance. After completing Tourist Trophy and TT Superbikes, I was hoping this would live up to expectations. As it says on the cover easy to pick up yet hard to master, and geez is it true. The amount of time I have spent playing this game is unreal. When you try and play this with individual front/rear brakes and with the traction control turned off, it challenges your ability. Trying to stop the front end washing out into a corner is difficult when really pushing, and trying to stop a big 1000cc Yamaha or Ducati from spitting you off coming out of a corner takes alot of patience. For £20 off amazon its money very well spent. Its taken me almost a total of 70 hours playing time in order to complete the game, and a hell of a lot of patience. It may not have the lush graphics of Tourist Trophy, or the sense of speed that TT Superbikes has, but it is well worth the money.
