Have had a set of these for many years and they have proven to be durable and extremely useful. When it's impractical to carry a large selection of tools to cover unexpected sizes these really come into there own. Very useful on plumbing and pipework where it can be difficult to know which size a given nut is due to a difficult location, and the ratcheting action allows quick and easy use without having to keep finding the flats again ! Unlike similar wrenches from other makers this one drives on the flats and does not use serrations to achieve the size range, so it's kind to whatever it's turning.Only drawbacks are,it's not the most compact of wrenches and care is needed on smaller nuts to prevent it slipping off.Definitely worth having in the toolkit !

I have one of these, and the smaller one, in my toolbox for those awkward jobs. It is good for unusual size heads, tight places, and slightly rounded corners (it won't do really rounded heads). It will only fit in places you can fit an open-ended, so no recessed heads (but everything has limitations.) I used to use a small pair of stillsons, but this is lighter, gets into tighter spaces, and does less damage. The alleged ratchet action is actually a slightly automated release-reposition-re-grip action, which requires a bit of a knack to save a few moments. You can do it with practice.Mine is strong, and shows no sigh of wear after several years. The more force you put on the tighter it grips.I would not be without it.

Not a bad product. Ratchet works fine although the jaws have slipped on me a bit - and on a pretty sound, accessible nut. Having said that this device doesn't act like a conventional ratchet wrench - conventional ratchet wrenches maintain their position on the nut or bolt whilst the lever turns and then returns to the original position, whereas this is designed to release it's grip after a turn and then remake the grip on a different part of the nut or bolt for the next stroke. The spring which actuates the ratchet is a strap of thin metal which looks a bit flimsy but seems to do it's job well enough.

I was looking for an open ended ratcheting spanner to quickly loosen and tighten nuts on water pipes after spending far too long on repairing a toilet inlet. Stumbled across this after searching Amazon for a ratcheting open spanner. Downside is that you have to choose the size, so you may need more than one for a variety of jobs - Upside is that it works extremely well.

Well made, locking system works a treat. Jaws are a little harsh on brass plumbing compression fittings.

Brilliant tool, used for tightening up rad tails into radiators. Been using one of these for 10 years
