Glad I ordered this. Thought it was to big when I first saw it. Bought to help with changing a bottom bracket on my old bike and turned out I needed 35mm to remove the old bracket (this one opens to 39mm but the 250mm version only goes to 33mm so it would have left me stuck) and it worked a treat as these old brackets can be very tight but luckily, or maybe because of this tool, it loosened straight away without any fuss. It was also great for some strong leverage (which it made seem easy), that I needed with a 16mm crank removal tool when my small adjustable wrench just wasn't enough or would have been a big struggle. I also used it at around 32mm to tighten the new bracket with the bracket tool and again no problems.

This thing's bigger, chunkier and more comfortable than it perhaps looks in the pictures. Measure out the length of it to get a proper idea: it's very hefty and easily handles (for example) the rear wheel axle nut on a motorbike. It's strong and wide enough for just about anything you'd be able to undo by hand and the filed sides - to make it slimmer and less obstructive - are a useful touch. Buy two of them and you'll never have to buy an adjustable spanner again.

I use this spanner as part of a set of 3 i bought 3 years ago and since then i am very satisfied with the build quality and rugedness of these spanners. the jaws open a little wider than other standard spanners of the same size(not including extra wide opening versions). I can't recommend these spanners enough they have never let me down and i have given them alot of abuse and dropped them from height many times and use them daily. I hope this review was helpful.

I bought this because I had a large nut to undo on a bike, and my existing adjustable spanner wasn't quite big enough.I was weary of the other brands with the smaller handles, this seemed good value for money as it is regular proportions.To me this is a very heavy tool, that has handled many nuts of all different sizes with ease, the large handle is easy to grip and offers plenty of leverage for those tough nuts!

It seems well made, it's comfortable in the hand and with a smooth adjustment. I do like the fact that although it's marked up to 39mm (it'll actually open to around 44mm) it's jaws are only around 13-14mm thick, meaning it'll still go into quite tight gaps. I certainly think it was worth paying a relatively modest amount more rather than going for one of the cheaper options.

A very solid tool with some weight and heft to it. It’s got a very strong grip but the jaws don’t have the tread that some adjustable spanners have. This means it does less damage to any nuts or bolts. There is also a gauge for you to preset the jaws prior to use. A all round fantastic tool.

I received the item on time. It is very sturdy and the grip is great. Most importantly the jaws can open wide enough to deal with almost any nut. I advise customers not to go for cheap versions. It is great wrench and possibly will last for years and years.

Very good product as I would expect from Stanley this was to replace my old spaner steel handle but this one is nice and warm and feels good I am going to buy one more smaller one as this ones more heavy duty cants go wrong with thisRegardsRobert B

Adjustable spanner supplied as requested, no equivalents and delivered promptly. Tool already well packaged by Stanley but also delivered in secure packaging. Tool has a readable scale which is a good asset. Well pleased with purchase.

Lots of reviews mention the wigglling, maybe that assists this with locking on because it tends to latch on to the nut in a good way.Managed to put about 100Nm on inner track rod with mine, no issues what so ever.

It's a gift to supplement a starter tool kit for my son.It's bigger than I expected as I didn't check the dimensions...I'm sure it's a very good piece of kit but it reminded me of a weapon from Cluedo

Being a plumber & heating engineer who now suffers from arthritis particularly in my hands this s a really useful tool. It allows me to still practice my old trade in my house more easily.

needed to do some work after cutting off a 22mm supply to old bath and needed a suitable wrench to tighten the large nuts on the . just the job and arrived next day

Great tool, good price, jaw opening a good width, great for undoing radiator valve nuts. Other tradesmen have bought when I told the price.

An excellent adjustable wrench. Easy to adjust and easy to grip and at a very keen price. Really pleased to have this in my tool kit.
