Brilliant product. I have sensory issues and using a wood stylus is absolutely amazing, the texture isn’t overwhelming, it’s weighted perfectly. Styluses tend to be too light or draw too smooth to get a real sensation of drawing, the stylus has a good amount of smoothness vs friction against the screen to be able to draw accurately as you would a pencil on paper. As an artist who is used to traditional materials, it’s probably the best piece of tech I own. Works flawlessly with my Galaxy Tab for digital art, weighted perfectly, works smoothly. Pretty much impeccable response between stylus and the tablet. Prefer it over the “smart” stylus that came with the tablet,as for me all of the buttons and functions are far too overwhelming. Simple and minimalist, does what you need it to do, no accidental clicking of buttons which would otherwise ruin your drawing/work. Nice and minimalist but does what is says on the tin. The nostalgia factor as well is brilliant, I had an awful habit in school of biting the end of my pencils when I was trying to think, and it’s weirdly enough come back ever since I bought this. I think that just kinda speaks to how accurate this is to the OG pencil. My ONLY issue with it, is that it snapped very easily in two when it rolled off of my desk. Very easy fix with a bit of superglue as the place it snapped was entirely wood, slightly past the internal mechanics. Bit sad about that but very easily fixed. Would have liked it to be sturdier for the price point.I think it is a bit overpriced for how minimalist the actual stylus is, purely because it doesn’t come with any other functions than as a basic stylus (no eraser tool etc.) and the fragility of it. I think the price point is based off of the design and nostalgia of it.

I have the older style S-pens on a Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 tablet and Galaxy Note 4 mobile. This Staedtler digital pencil is a huge step up from those S-pens. The Staedtler has a much, much finer nib and there is far less resistance when drawing on the screen, but still enough resistance to stop the pencil 'skating' across the screen. The finer nib also allows me to more easily see the line that I'm drawing making it a much more accurate drawing tool. The calibration of the Staedtler is exactly the same as my S-pen so no offset at all. It is also very light in weight for a digitial pencil (9g) compared to a normal pencil (approx. 4g).This is as close as I've got to the sensation of drawing with a real pencil on a digital screen! The big step up in performance from the older style S-pens, makes this Staedtler pencil worth the significant £35 investment I paid for it. The nib on the Staedtler is similar (but not interchangeable) to the nibs on the newer Samsung S-pens for the Tab S3, so if you have one of those, there won't be such a big step up in performance and therefore you will just get the feel of a pencil in your hand rather than a pen. Also, the Staedtler doesn't have a button like the S-pens, so this will be an important consideration if you like to use the button functions regularly. I can confirm that you do get spare nibs with the Staedtler pencil if you buy it direct from Amazon.I have to say that I am absolutley loving the massively improved drawing experience of the Staedtler, hence the five stars, even though the price is a bit steep at £35.

Staedler's Noris digital stylus, styled to resemble one of the brand's traditional black and yellow striped pencils is a lovely stylus but hampered by the limited range of devices with which it is compatible, it's own size and software. Thanks to the limited range of Samsung only devices this will work with, I could only use this when paired with a tablet that I'm not so keen on using. My brother and his wife, by contrast, both own Samsung phones and tablets - for them this was a thoroughly excellent experience. The 'pencil' is beautifully balanced. It feels like holding a brand new, pre-sharpened pencil. The only visible differences are at the tip. This comes with a protective cap, under which the 'lead' section is graduated. The cap fits on the end of the pencil to prevent it from getting lost when the pencil is in use. With compatible devices, this works beautifully - it's easy to use and gives good results. However, there are potential risks inherent in the design. The fact that this is so similar to regular Staedler pencils means that it's at risk of being damaged because its appearance isn't sufficiently distinct - particularly in a family or group setting, where multiple people might pick up the 'pencil'. The length of this stylus pencil is also less practical for use with a phone - though for a tablet, it's fine.

This is a difficult item to review; on the one hand it is brilliant, on the other it is sort of insane. You can understand a pencil company's strategic desire to keep up with these new digital things, but creating a pencil that only writes on digital screens and even then, only one brand of digital screens effectively retains the bad parts of a pencil while discarding the good thing about pencils which is that they write on just about anything. That said, the feel of this in the hand is wonderful, it doesn't feel like a pencil, the lacquer on the barrel is not a pencil lacquer, and it writes like a very fine pen. I'm a massive fan of Samsung's S-pen feature and use mine all the time, that the Noris Digital Stylus is even better than the most recent version of the S-pen is a real surprise. The Noris tip combined with the familiar long and pencil-thick barrel make for an incredibly natural writing experience. Here's the but; on a Note phone (tested here on the Note 8, which is not listed in the specs but does work completely), carrying a separate stylus is daft. The form then lends itself to use on Samsung's larger screened tablets and Chromebooks; there I can easily imagine the Noris being absolutely perfect. I do love this item though, even if it isn't super practical.

First impression as I only received it today. So far, it works like a charm. I bought it for two reasons. 1. To have a spare for the Lenovo Real Pen (note: this cannot be used with ink). 2. Because I find the Real Pen makes my hand ache.Oh did I say just two reasons? 3. Brings back memories of my late dad using the original pencil to work out calculations for his DIY projects, although they always ended up as a stub lol.I've got no art skills yet want to get my money's worth out of the YB so I recently downloaded the MyScript Nebo App (only works with certain devices) to take handwritten notes and convert them to text. In case anyone is considering this app, it isn't free but it does work well on the YB create pad, although I wouldn't recommend the app if using the Real Pen with ink on paper. I digress. This pen(cil) doesn't make that annoying tap tap tap sound and feels smoother when writing. I realised I was concentrating more on the (Lenovo) pen than the app. Noris (I know - we're on first name terms) is quiet and really comfortable to hold.I only received it today so please remember this is a first impression.Bonus. The colour makes it easy to spot if it's been dropped or you've put it down somewhere.PS Bought and paid for with my own money.

This stylus is an attractive - if expensive - alternative stylus for use with various Samsung tablets, phones and a couple of the Chromebook models. If you own a compatible Samsung device you almost certainly have a stylus which came with it. For a phone user - it is likely far more convenient to stick with the stylus you've got - it slots neatly into the phone and is "always there". However if you're a tablet user (ditto Chrome book presumably - I've not got one) and you use applications which benefit from freehand drawing using a stylus - you may well be interested. The Staedtler Noris stylus - looks like one of their classic black and yellow pencils. It has a rubberised shaft which is comfortable to hold and its 0.7 mm nib is very similar in behaviour and use to a standard stylus. Using it for sketching and freehand drawing is certainly far preferable to using a smaller stylus - particularly over longer periods of time. It feels solid and present in the hand - far more so than the standard styluses do. The sensing technology used is EMR which is sensitive and good in use - and nothing to charge or replace . For day to day use - the standard stylus is likely to be sufficient. Good - but not cheap.

This is an amazing stylus. I use it on my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and my Samsung Tab S3.It's so much better to sketch with than the small s pen with the Note 8 and the large one that comes with the Tab S3, My writing is also a lot more accurate and true to my actual writing on paper. It feels so comfortable in the hand, just like any pencil many of us are familiar with. This will really help with your art work. The lack of a clip is a bit of an issue so I will keep it at home rather than risk loosing it when out and about unless I specifically venture out to do a sketch. I'm looking at those lovely leather stylus pouches you can pick up, handy for this and my other ones. This came with spare nibs and the removal tool. There's a cap which many are guaranteed to loose as it's clear plastic. I would recommend getting something to replace it if you do as it is needed to keep the delicate tip safe.I will definitely purchase a spare as I can see this becoming an essential tool for my amateur art and I wouldn't want to be without it if I loose it.

Cost: Got for £17 - much cheaper than most other EMR (electromagnetic resistance) styli on the market. Makes it very good value for money.Quality/Aesthetics: Hexagonally shaped the same as a normal Norris pencil would be so is much more comfortable than my laptop's included stylus. The pencil has a wooden core with the tip being an EMR compatable screen "lead" like tip and a clear cap to protect the end. Comes with replacement tips and a tool to change them.In Use: Works direct out of the box with my Lenovo Model 500e Chromebook 2nd Generation despite not being included on the compatability list (you will need to check your device's screen is an EMR screen). As it is thicker than the included stylus and sized/weighted like a normal pencil, I find it much easier to write/draw/sketch with. In particular the included "lead" like tips are much smoother than most other stylus and as a result it glides over the screen.

... if this gets mixed up with your pencil collection you're goosed - someone will either chew on it or pare it !! It's so like an ordinary pencil. If your background is old school draughting - well you won't be disappointed with the look and feel of this.I bought Staedtler as an emergency replacement for the default Remarkable stylus and it works perfectly for writing/ rough sketching on the Remarkable. You don't get that "scratchy" paper feel as you do with the Remarkable stylus - it's much softer - which some Remarkable people may not like. Be warned though - my box of supplied Remarkable tips won't work in this stylus but you might have better mileage with your particular device.OverallI'm very pleased with this - my only crib is with the supplied tip cover - it looks like an after thought and to be honest for the cost of the stylus I expected a bit better.

Bought this to use on the Samsung Notes series phone and the Tab S6, and the pen works as directly replacement without having to pair the devices up. The only caveat is that on the phones, you have to either remove the original pen from the phone first, or set a setting on the phone to allow multiple pens to work. Otherwise the phone will think your pen is still in the slot and won't try to detect it on the screen to save power. It is a compromise between battery life vs convenience. In use, it is as accurate as the original pens. I do miss not having the side button as the erase button, or as a short cut to start an app though.I do like the familiar pencil shape, which is easier to hold than the original pens.If it had the side button, it will be perfect and would have got the full 5 stars. As it is, I still like it and would use it whilst at the desk.

I bought this to use with the reMarkable tablet I have. And must say it Is excellent. I use it for general use, writing and some sketches. I have no issues with the reMarkable stylus but sometime I’m going to lose it and this stylus is a third of the price. It is not as fast as the remarkable stylus showing slight but noticeable drag on medium biro which is the setting I use most. The transparent acrylic pen top is badly designed and will break soon as the acrylic is already fracturing. The nibs are thinner and harder than the reMarkable version and so loose some of the paper feel. Five spares come with the stylus. They are not interchangeable with the reMarkable ones and have been reported as being more fragile. The feel and weight are excellent I can highly recommend this stylus and would have said 5* if not for the acrylic pen top.

I needed a replacement EMR stylus for my Acer Chromebook Spin 11 and this was perfect. Despite some buffoon-like reviews about its compatibility only with Samsung products, using a miniscule amount of brainpower, I effected something called an 'online search', and within seconds, what I learnt about EMR pen technology, and blessed with the knowledge that my Chromebook used the same WACOM-type tech, I went ahead and purchased.Imagine my surprise when, lo and behold, the stylus worked!!!!!Its a beautifully crafted item, wonderful to use, comes with spare tips and a clear plastic lid.Not only is the product highly recommended, but I also recommend doing a bit of research outside of Amazon reviews, and using your noggin to decide whether your devices may or may not be compatible with this item. Thanks!!

I bought this before I bought the original S Pen for a used Galaxy Tab S6. And, having bought the original S Pen, I decided I could only give this 4 stars for one reason - that lack of a magnetic mount. As far as its usability when writing or drawing goes, it's perfect, at last as good as the S Pen. Indeed, in some aspects it's superior - it's longer and has more of a hexagonal form factor rather than round or flat. And who can't say that the fact that it's identical to the graphite versions doesn't make it feel just a little more special? As a writing and drawing tool, I think it's arguably the best pen out there. I just wish there was some way to attach it to the tablet when I was done with it.Unfortunately, it doesn't even fit in the space in the back when the case is on.

I use this far more often the S-Pen on my device. It's far more comfy (Soft, not too thin), and above anything else: no S button. No carefully holding the pen to make sure I don't accidentally press it and interrupt my stroke with the invasive airmenu or some other unexpected action. Less truly is more, and the S pen proper can remain a remote. It's slightly different in feel to the S pen when writing - it perhaps defaults to a slightly harder pressure? But it feels insanely good. The eraser works a treat in most applications, and you can see where it is official supported from the manufacturer website if it needs to work in a specific app for you.Tiny drawback: It's not always with you (unlike S-pen).But I always have it in my pen holder in my bag now.

Absolutely brilliant. Could feel and see the difference within 20 seconds of using it.It feels better holding it than the poor slippery s-pen that comes with the Galaxy Tab S4. There's no silly button to accidently press on the side.I can write and draw faster with it, at my normal writing speed compared to the s-pen. And the diagrams I draw are more accurate. I am spending far less time rubbing out mistakes because of the crappy s-pen. Seriously, Samsung should stop shipping the s-pen with the Galaxy Tab S4 and provide this instead. They're forcing people to waste money on the s-pen which customers ought to throw away and replace with this product. The handwriting it produces on the screen ismore faithful to my true handwriting with a genuine pen.
