When it comes to graphics tablets and stylus/pens Wacom are the kings, and this stylus/pen is genuinely incredible, a real game changer. From day one of the ipad, myself and many of my creative industries friends (I am an artist) kind of ummed and arred about its lack of pressure sensitivity but happily got on with working around this, adjusting our workflow to include constant opacity tweaking, or just relying on single line weight. We all pretty much used the ipad as basic digital creating tool whilst wishing Wacom would invent a pressure sensitive pen that would turn the ipad into a Cintiq style tablet... AND NOW THEY HAVE!Its taken four years but Wacom have cracked it.The Creative Stylus is everything you could want in a ipad pen. From the moment you open the box this product yells quality, the (slightly unnecessary) case is so pro feeling you feel like James Bond opening a gadget from Q. The weight and metallic feel of the pen is outstanding and has the balance that you want from a pen, yes the nib is slightly large, but it's as small as they can make it and doesn't really hamper you in any way, just zoom in a little on the tighter work. The pressure sensitivity is incredible! it actually is as sensitive as my Cintiq. I use Procreate on the ipad and I am blown away by its pressure levels on the app. The two programmable buttons are great for undo/whatever you like ( I have it set to erase but you can link it to any of the functions). The only negative is the lack of app integration, there are currently only about ten apps that you can use it with full functionality (you can use it without the Bluetooth with any app) but this negative is not really an issue when this will be rectified in time, Wacom are the market leaders in graphic tablets and stylus, so many many more app developers will be getting on board, plus the apps already integrated are the best art/creative apps anyway (Sketchbook pro, Procreate etc).To sum up, It is a little expensive for the casual sketcher/user but if you are a creative pro, or a student thinking about investing in the Cintiq and have a ipad with bluetooth4 GET THIS PEN! It really is a no brainer as another reviewer said. It's an essential purchase that you will not regret! Now if you will excuse me I'm off to use this awesome pen...

Despite what some other reviewers have said, this DOES work perfectly on an iPad Air 2 (I'm using a 64Gb WiFi model with an Anker screen protector fitted). Maybe the process of getting it working is what is confusing people. Trying to pair it via the iPad's Bluetooth Settings will NOT work. You pair it with individual apps that support the stylus. Check Wacom's site for these, but I use GoodNotes 4 for note taking and both palm rejection and pressure sensitivity work flawlessly. For drawing, the Bamboo Paper and ProCreate apps also work. For everything else, it's just a regular fat-tipped stylus and the Bluetooth functionality isn't recognised. You can, however, export notes taken in GoodNotes to Evernote and OneNote. The zoom feature in GoodNotes is especially useful, allowing you to write in a large text box easily which then shrinks the handwritten text onto the page. You can even draw a line around what you've written and see it convert into typed text via OCR with pretty excellent accuracy. The carrying case with extra tips and a spare battery slot (this takes one of the slightly obscure AAAA batteries) is a nice touch and handy for keeping the stylus protected in a bag where it may otherwise get easily lost. This might not be for everyone and the need for specific apps to unlock the Bluetooth functionality can be annoying (especially when most of them, like ProCreate, require additional payment) but for less than £20 this is a pretty fantastic deal and represents a real bargain. It elevates the use of a stylus on an iPad considerably and, given the device isn't meant to be used with a stylus at all, that's no mean feat.

I expected the stylus to be good but I din't think it would work as well as my 12WX Cintiq when using the Procreate app. You need to tune the brushes slightly in the app, but once set up, you'll be able to shade pretty much as if you had a real pencil.I use the pen with a screen protector with no ill effects on the smoothness of the nib's travel. Accuracy when drawing is spot on, and there are no real issues with the size of the nib when you can pinch-zoom so easily. The pen is classic Wacom in its styling. It's well balanced without being too heavy or light. The case is especially nice and adds to the impression that this is a professional drawing tool.I went for the blue version to help differentiate it from my fleet of intuos pens!Pairing is a little tricky at first, as the instructions aren't as clear as they might be. You need the Bamboo app loaded up. Go to the 'i' icon on the project creation page and choose the stylus tab. Press one of the pen's switches and then touch the connect button. That's it! If you become disconnected at any point, you'll have to turn your Bluetooth off and on again on the pad, and then reconnect as set out above. There are a few apps that support the stylus, but Procreate makes the most of the pen's features. Weirdly, the brilliant Bamboo Paper makes limited use of the pen's pressure abilities. Never the less, drawing with the Creative Stylus is a much, much nicer experience than using the excellent bamboo stylus. If you're a professional artist/designer and own a compatible iPad, then this is a no brainier. It's great right now and it's only going to get better.

I am not an artist but did want to experiment with a pressure sensitive stylus on my iPad. The product has a few nice features such as the changeable long-life battery and the 2 buttons which are very useful in apps which have been programmed to support it (You can assign the buttons to undo or change settings etc). The stylus seems to work very well, and all the features work as advertised, the only downsides I find is that it is quite easy to accidentally press the buttons, so this takes some learning to avoid doing so. Also sometimes if you press too lightly it won't register your pen strokes, although I'm told this is only an issue with the new iPad Airs and might be fixable with an iOS software update (or by maybe chaining the reassure settings in a supported app).

Have only been using this for a month but so far this is a pretty sweet bit of kit.Pros:- Light but has a good weight to it- Sturdy- Very similar grip and ergonomic feel to normal Intuos or Cintiq pens- Bluetooth sync/set up is very easy and stable.- Stylus nib, although being the same type as other Wacom styluses, it feels a bit sturdier.- Pressure sensitivity is very good although would be good to adjust it more in iOS settings.- Battery life is very good too. For 5 weeks use on and off use, its only down to 95%.Cons:- I suppose initial cost but given the build and reliability of it, I'm more than happy with it.- Would be nice to have a travel pouch/case as I often carry mine in my pocketfor quick sketches on the tube.

This stylus is nice. It feels good in the hand, it comes in a lovely box with all the bits you need and even has a few replacement nibs to get you going. However even though the description says it will work with iPads 1 or higher *it will not work on an iPad Air 2*. I got this because it said it works with all models, but it won't. In fact all pressure sensitive styluses won’t work. I have spent £20 on something that could’ve been £5. If you have an earlier model of iPad this is a bargain. If you have an iPad Air 2 don’t be an idiot like me and buy this.

Good value for money... For me working not only w/ Wacom Bamboo app, but also w/ Adobe Sketch pro, other apps of one it... Update FW is not come to work (should be due to first gen, and at update app provide only choice of 2nd GEN)... Newly has apps for Windows 7/8 and can provide basic functions o touch screen notebook also.Nibs looks like to gone quickly and you aren't able bought cheap one, as well as battery which is AAAA format and cause expensive on Amazon...Anyway, it takes my iPad mini 2nd GEN to new level...

This is a difficult review to write as I use a Watcom pad on my mac and it can only be described as superb but it cost - I can't remember how much but it was lots - I was dreaming this would work as well on the ipad but it doesn't on the other hand it is pretty good the best pressure sensitive stylus for the my iPad 3 I've found and after a few days of practice I was able to produce some quite decent sketches. Would have given 5 stars if it worked with the ipad adobe photo app - overall I'd recommend this product.

Superb stylus for my digital art, absolutely love its compatibility with the iPad and sketchbook, also like the old style replaceable battery as opposed to the bamboo fine line I have which has a sealed battery and needs to be charged from the end via a cable to usb, sadly the rubber plug keeps coming out allowing dirt and dust into the charging port, hence why I love this creative stylus so much. It is my go to stylus now instead of the bamboo, although the bamboo is better for for vector work when moving nodes.

Just as I expected, and completely like most of the reviews online. Works amazing on iPhone 5, as well as my iPad Air (some people feel it doesn't work as well on iPad Air, stating it's not sensitive at low pressure levels, but honestly, I haven't had this problem.) Comes with two spare nibs and a AAAA battery. I can't find these batteries for sale anywhere near me so I've ordered a pack online from Amazon. Build quality of the pen is of the highest quality, and it almost feels like an expensive writing pen!

Great stylus for (ipad 3rd Generation). The stylus took a number of (frustrating) attempts to connect to various apps (thus the 4 stars). Once connected, reconnection was simple, the pen s nice to hold (although the side buttons are a little too easy to press by mistake) I turned off the funtions as a result. But the stylus is accurate, battery life is great and for the price I paid, has become a great tool for creating artwork on an iOS device.

I was looking forward for arrival of this beauty and ... I love it. I will not go into dept, because Blakes8th & MT already wrote what I would do as well ;-). I am also using Procreate and the pressure levels are REEEEEALY mind blowing ... love it. Nothing more to add, but just GO FOR IT, if you need an excellent stylus. I was struggling for last few years to find it, have a loooots of c*appy ones, but finally I've found one for me ;-)

I've tried so many different stylus types, and have come to the conclusion that none are perfect. This one is nice, allows for fine details in my drawings. But I couldn't tell how to turn it "off" as the light stays on unless you twist open the battery cover. For the money, I was expecting something better. I suppose with lots of practice I will like it better. I use it to draw on my iPad.

I bought this for my iPad air2. Some reviews had cautioned againstt lack of Bluetooth compatibility; so far I have managed to connect the pen to Autodesk Stetch Book, Zen brush 2, Adobe draw, Adobe Stetch, Concepts, Inkist, Bamboo paper and Pixelmator. I know that it also works fine with Artrage and Procreate.I am very satisfied with this purchase and it is a bargain for under £20.

11.12.2013

Quality product by Wacom... comes in a robust quaity case for storage and transport. I use it with Procreate mostly and it just works! No pairing issues, just load the app, touch one of the assignable function buttons on the stylus and paint or draw... couldn't be simpler and the touch sensitivity makes a huge difference to painting and drawing on the iPad... love it!
