I have had this pen now for about 2 hours. Before that I was using the pen for the Surface 3 Pro. The first thing I noticed about this is that if felt a bit heavier but when I started using it, that weight actually felt very natural, like using a quality pen. So far, I have no reasons to believe it is not an authentic Microsoft product because my Surface Go "Surface" app detected it correctly as an authentic Microsoft product. I decided to write this review particularly because writing with this is much better than my old pen. The old pen just didn't produce the natural level of friction you get from writing with pen on paper - it was a bit too slippery. This reproduces that experience and makes it better. The only reason why I am giving the product a 4 star is because I can't seem to open the battery compartment - too tightly closed!

There's very little to say about this pen; it writes on the page and draws accurately. My only gripe is that, in the world where everyone is watching their environmental use, this still uses batteries that you have to change. Making this chargable would be an obvious step forward from Microsoft. Saying that, I have had the item for around 2 months and the battery life has barely depleted. If you are going to use the Microsoft Surface as a tablet, then this item is a must as some pages require the pen rather than the finger, to scroll. If you have a keyboard or an external mouse then this item is not essential.I've used it on drawing software and on the Microsoft Maps software which lets you draw on the map,and it seems accurate to me. Note: I am not a professional artist so cannot asses this for complete accuracy.

I brought this along with the Microsoft keyboard.Installation was not straight forward. My surface didn't find it initially and I had to install it manually. Not a huge issue, more a pain.Responsiveness etc is good. The pen pointer lines up with the nib perfectly, almost. I loved the fact that you could reprogram the keys on the pen to do different things. I also liked the fact that it stuck, via a magnet, like glue to the case of the surface. In the end I sent it back. I just had no use for it in the end. The surface keyboard was so good I just couldn't justify having an £80 ornament on my tablet.

I purchased the pen for my surface pro, more to try it out than anything else. And whilst it is good for using instead of your fingers to keep the screen clean, I just find the right-click button hard to use. For me, it is too "flush" with the pen and my chunky fingers struggle to press it. So whilst I keep it handy I don't use it much as I find the Surface Pro much better to use with the keyboard than with the Pen. I am not an artist, perhaps they or other similar users would find better use for the pen. It is nice to hold, premium quality but still quite expensive for what it is!

Amazing product, came 1 day before expected (always a plus) and was packed with the keyboard too - ORDERED SEPERATELY. Pen is amazing however to get the best performance when you have connected the device, type into the start menu handwriting and it comes up woth ‘learn my handwriting’ or something similar: this allows windows to recognise your habdwriting and when translating from handwriting to text it understands better and i find it almost ‘callibrates’ the pen better. Great product and sellers. Definatly recommend!

Bought this product so I can use it with my Surface Pro 6 and it has been great. Allows me to write my uni notes really easily. However the bib of the pen has seemed to bend and it is not straight. Considering it has only been a few months old I am disappointed with this. I can buy a new pack of nibs from Microsoft however I shouldn’t need to spend extra when I have spend £60 in the first place. Apart from this the product is good for uni students looking to take notes on their surface pro product.

Perfect companion to my surface goGreat for taking notes and the writing recognition works really well with Microsoft wordThe pen is light a very comfortable to holdIt clips magnetically to the left side of the surface and feels very secureThe pressure sensitive tip glides well over the screen and although I am not an artist, I would imagine that this would be a great tool, as there is no noticeable “lag” in writing.Highly recommended.

The Surface Pen has great build quality and functions well as expected. All its promised functions works well. I find to like the bluetooth functions with the eraser button, one thing my Hp Pen didn't have. At first I thought buying the Surface Pen at around £75 is at least a slightly better price than its usual £100 tag, but I think the investment was worth it for my experience so far.

I knew what I was getting from the start: A very well made bit of kit that complements my Surface Book 2 perfectly. VFM; it's going to be expensive, however, cheaper than the high street and way less expensive than from Microsoft. As for delivery time; I ordered late and receive it next day, and that was without Prime. All-in-all a very happy customer.

I can definitely see some improvements in the pen from surface pro 4. The pen size and weight is better. The levels of sensitivity is definitely noticeable. The tracking has improved too. There still maybe be some bugs with pen input depending on application but pen has really become much better and latency has improved.

ok so I'm giving this maximum stars as think It's great (I'm using It to write this review), however I bought this pen just over a week ago, and when I went to register It at Microsoft.com today, Microsoft say that It is out of warranty. so if this is likely to be an Issue for you buy with caution.

This is exactly the same pen that you can buy from Microsoft's website, with the exact same features and levels of sensitivity, but it comes at a lower price. So for anyone interested in purchasing any accessories for any Microsoft device, you will most likely find them cheaper here.

It's great, but ofc is quite pricey. I've had it for a few months and have still not had to change the batteries for it - it's still at 90% after 3 months of usage. It was a bit awkward to hold at first but got used to it after practice. Very sleek pen and defo satisfied with it!

I have an older Surface 3, and although the pen works as expected, the side of the tablet is not metal, so the pen can't be attached. This is not made clear. Also on certain Windows 10 language configurations (English, UK) the option to learn you're writing style does not work.

Build: Well built and very nice to use.Design: looks slick and suits the modern aesthetic of the surface pro.Its a decent stylus pen but the difference in quality between it and the apple pencil is night and day. There is latency and not what I expected for the price.
