When I first saw these pencils and the price my first thoughts were: No! This can't be there must be a catch! Because I knew that when you see a company that normally sells good quality things for a reasonably expensive price and then you see the same company selling that thing for a cheap price you think that there must be a reason for selling that item for a cheap price! However I did not listen to my nagging conscience that kept telling me otherwise and I went ahead and purchased it.At first I noticed that the pencils were tightly packaged to reduce chance of breakage and that I was very jovial about, I also adored the fact that the colours were arranged in ascending shades (being artfully meticulous I like to arrange my pencils like that [but being disappointingly a tad lazy it saved me the hassle of doing it myself] .I enjoyed using the wide variety of colours that were provided, giving me a chance as a student to express myself and giving me that sense of freedom, unleashing my imagination and unlocking a whole new world. These exquisite art tools don't scratch paper but instead run through it as smoothly as a newly ironed bed sheet. Their leads hardly ever break, which is exteremly useful, because I tend to get carried away with art and can colour for hours on end without the pencil breaking! The only down side is that as you sharpen them they tend to get smaller also they get dirty fairly quickly, but all these are just minor misdemeanors that anyone can endure. So please don't hesitate and buy these wonderful pencils!P.S. If you liked this review don't forget to click that helpful button!

Currently offered as part of the Amazon 'Add-on Programme', these are good quality pencils at a bargain price and would make a great stocking filler with Christmas just around the corner (at the time of writing). The core is on the harder side, so some effort is required to get the strength of colour, but they are durable and easy to sharpen with a quality regular-sized hole pencil sharpener, in my experience. Each hexagonal barrelled pencil measures around 17.5 cm and comes ready sharpened with a good ‘point’.On one side, in shiny gold coloured lettering, is~ 'Made in Germany ~ STAEDTLER ~ Noris Club ~ 144 ~ CE'From the back of the cardboard box, which measures around 17.25 cm x 19.5 cm x 1 cm:~ 'The coloured pencil with A*B*S ~ 'Anti Break System', for uninterrupted creativity; lead 50% more break resistant and pencil 30% stronger. The white protective coating reinforces the lead and increases break resistance.~ Brilliant colours.~ Wood from certified, sustainably managed forests.~ Easy to sharpen.'ooOooThe colours I received are those usually supplied in the regular cardboard box of 24:~ WHITE~ YELLOW~ LIGHT YELLOW~ RED~ MAGENTA~ MAUVE~ BORDEAUX~ CARMINE~ BLUE~ LIGHT BLUE~ COBALT BLUE~ CYAN~ ORANGE~ LIGHT ORANGE~ PEACH~ FAWN~ GREEN~ WILLOW GREEN~ SAP GREEN~ OLIVE GREEN~ BURNT SIENNA~ VAN DYKE BROWN~ GREY~ BLACKooOooThe colours supplied in

When I bought my first adult colouring book last year, I decided to invest in a new set of pencils to go with it.I chose this set as it seemed fairly economical and had very good reviews here on Amazon, and appeared to have a good range of colours.Although I am very creative and already owned a few very old sets of pencils, I had not really indulged in colouring since my school days. With my first attempts at colouring with these pencils, I found I was needing to press quite hard in order to lay down bright, dense colour. This resulted in harsh pencil lines and the feeling that was denting the paper - thanks to the thick pages of the colouring books that I was using, the dents did not show through to the other side of the page. With more practice, I found that using a more gentle circular scribbling motion, and building up layer upon layer, I could create much more pleasing results. The colours are not as bold and bright as I was first trying to achieve, but I would say the images I have coloured in this way are quite striking, as shown in my photos.I would say that these pencils are a medium hardness. The pencils seem to hold a point very well, I have not experienced any crumbling or breaking, and I seem to have used each pencil a lot before the need to sharpen again, actually I have not yet resharpened all of them. The sharpener I used is the

I purchased these colour pencils as i needed some good long lasting quality essential colour pencils for my art studies, and i purchased these due to their popularity and the brand ' STAEDTLER' these lived up to my expectations, and i have not have to buy another pack since! They are great/comfortable to hold and have a clean look to them. I love the bit of white rim around the edge of the coloured pencil lead, as it gives a clean finish and makes them look more firm/less breakable, which they are. Last but not least, the colour of them is very strong/vivid, and you can actually press quiet hard on them without breaking the lead, which is great, and essential when adding tone/colour to your work; (nothing worse than using a colour pencil and as you're using it the lead snaps and breaks on you leaving you empty handed!)At £2.44 for a pack of 12, is it actually great value for quality art supplies like these, I can now say that their colour pencils live up to the same high standards as their original pencils. Will be buying from Staedtler again in the future.

A very clever purchase. I am really satisfied. I bought this product for my niece and I had also to it in action and I am telling you there has nothing to do with cheaper products...The reasons I bought those coulouring pencils for my messy niece were the following1) ABS - Anti-break system - for uninterrupted creativity // and yes it is true... nothing to do with some cheap colouring pencils I bought from the super market2) Easy to sharpen with any quality sharpener // many times I had problem with sharpening... now I solved them3) Lacquered in lead colour for easy identification and differentiation of colours // it is true... with one glance you see the colour you want to select4)Break-resistant lead for smooth, colour-intensive results // that is a real problem in cheaper products.. leads break so easily... buy this product if you want to avoid this happeningOverall... do not miss this product!!!!!!

I have to admit to being somewhat disappointed with these so called 'Colouring' pencils. I am a busy man I don't have time to colour things in myself so these should have been just what I needed, no more would I have to spend my precious time colouring in, I could let these Pencils do the hard work for me. Just imagine my disappointment upon leaving these Pencils laying beside a fresh picture over night and coming down in the morning to find they had done nothing, not a single mark of any shade on the page.I was so angry that I took it out on one of the pencils, i just snapped it in half, i felt so guilty later but that pencil in particular had been annoying me with it's over intense shade of blue.I have since found that colouring pens are no better, how these Pens and Pencils stay so slim is beyond me as they do absolutely nothing all day, they just lay there waiting to be picked up and held tight.

I really like these!Having only just got them in the post I can only comment on my first impressions and testing them on my adult colouring book - Harry Potter. For £5.99 you get 24 colours. I was surprised to see that there were a nice range in this collection. Pencils are easy to hold and found that they were good quality. You don't have to press so hard to get a good shade. Literally the lightest touch will do, which is what makes these pencils so comfortable.I did try using colouring pens but found they bled too much through the page, which, unfortunately, ruined the first few pages. However, pencils seemed like the better option and I was right. Super chuffed with these and only ordered them 24 hours ago.Despite the pandemic, Amazon are doing an amazing job at delivering parcels on time.Thank you!

The blending and ease of use for these pencils is really good. They will work as a normal crayon pencil, by wetting the tip first for a stronger (bolder) colour and by water-blending - the heavier the crayon is applied the deeper the watercolour blend will be. Very simple to use. However, its clear that Staedtler didn't bother with brush qulity when putting this pack together. Granted I didn't expect a fantastic brush but I alsoo didn't think I'd receive a brush that's been wetted then allowed to dry rock solid - I've seen better (and cheaper than this whole pack combined) children brushes from a poundstore! Very poor quality. For the colours,I would recommend but bear in mind you'll need to get your own brush.

What more can be said about colouring pencils. The Staedtler branding is clearly noticed in the quality of the pencils. The hexagonal aesthetics of the pencils itself allow for very comfortable use, it doesn't seem to roll around in your hand or slip, and provides a firm but soft grip while using the pencils. The colour the pencils actually transfer to the paper is also very crisp, doesn't leave patches of hard/soft colour and is very consistent, according to the force you apply to the surface, and the lead is very strong, doesn't seem to chip or break very easily either. If you're looking for a relatively cheap alternative to professional colouring pencils, this is a good way to go!

These coloured pencils were a bargain. I don't usually buy this brand but just wanted some coloured pencils quick and without leaving the house. They are soft to use and I haven't had to sharpen them yet. I also like the anti break, its a great selling point, but only time will tell. They come in a card packet (would of liked plastic for durability, but cant quibble with the price). I felt slightly limited on the colours, but that's my own fault should of bought a bigger pack. But you cant really complain with what you get. I liked but I didn't love, I use higher quality pencils usually, so I shouldn't compare (thats why they get a four and not three).

I have got into colouring as a way of stress relief recently and wanted my own coloring pencils. I decided to buy these as they looked good and a pack of 24 seemed a reasonable size to start with. The pencils come ready sharpened and have a good quality lead - they are easy to both colour and shade with and are not 'scratchy' like some cheaper brands. Another benefit of these crayons is that they have a white core around the lead which apparently adds extra strength. The pencils sharpen well and the lead does not break easily.i would recommend these pencils, they are good quality at a great price

I found these pencils worked very well. The leads do not break and they are much cheaper than any crayola pencils, but still extremly good quality. The colour could be stronger but my 12 year-old daughter, who I bought a pack for after enjoying mine, says that she loves them and finds them extremly useful. She says that lots of her school friends bought them once she had them and they were shocked that you got them so cheap. I would definitely buy from that brand again. I think that these are very good quality for the price, everything you are promised is true and they are easy to use.

20.10.2015

I bought these pencils to do some quick color sketches and I'm surprised how good they are considering the price. They are a little bit harder compared to the more expensive pencils, but very usable nevertheless. I have tested these pencils on different types of paper against artist grade colored pencils (Polychromos by Faber-Castell and Polycolor by Koh-I-Noor) and they cover the paper just as well or better! They contain less pigment, so the colors are less intense. Blending or layering is limited. Unfortunately only 12 colors of the total 36 are available as open stock.

I spend many hours colouring in, it relieves some of my stress and helps me relax. I have a range of pen and pencil brands, but have never tried Staedtler. These pencils are great, they blend nicely with hatching or a blending pencil and the colours are bright and vivid. They lay smoothly on a range of papers and little pressure is required to achieve a solid colour.I am very impressed with these pencils, both the standard and watercolour produce an excellent finish. I recommend giving them a go, you will be pleasantly surprised.

6.9.2012

My daughter needed a bunch of colouring pencils and I didn't hesitate to order this one right away (and, yes, I do recall Staedtler being a good brand name for engineering drawing instruments). A few days later, I was surprised when I came across a comparable product at a local supermarket costing only a fraction of this. The quality of this could be better but does this justify the unreasonable price mark up?Pleased with the quality (though the pencil could be a bit softer) and one star is knocked off for the steep price.
