I've bought three sets now, but can only write one review, so I've attached photos of each one I have and the colours inside.-------------This review refers to the "Shonen" brush pen set.Usually one pen goes for about £3, so this selection is good value. It has a nice mix of colours-to me it feels like a sort of autumn/sunset theme. The colours in the set are:-Cold Grey IV 233-Nougat 178-Sanguine 188-Deep Red-Scarlet Red 118-Dark Chrome Yellow 109This is different to the product description on other websites-the colours I got match the ones shown in product photos, so it must be the description of a different set, so be careful. They're lovely pens to use, very strong vivid colours where appropriate (like yellow)and completely waterproof once dry, though they can smear/discolour if you go over black or darker colours. The brush tip can be a bit difficult to make thin lines with, but it's not really an appropriate nib for that in the first place. If you're careful it will keep its shape for a long time. They lose a star because: I already had a deep red, and compared it to the one I got in this pack. There was quite a noticeable difference in colour between the two, though I forgot to take a photo-so be careful and test your colours before using, especially if finishing off something!

As a Graphic Designer, I am always on the lookout for quality, and affordable art supplies. One of the most common tools at my disposal is the ink pen which I use for writing, sketching, drawing and outlining. If you're anything like me, you have probably tried just about every brand of pen searching for the 'one'.The Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pens is the 'chosen one' (sorry for my Matrix references:-). The series of pens come in a range of colours with a variety of tips and they are sold both individually and in packs. Each pack includes at least one of the following type of pens.SuperfineFineMediumBrushWhilst branded as an 'artist's pen', they are ideal for the variety of professions and tasks - drafting, drawing, lettering, writing, outlining and so on.I highly recommend the Faber Castell Pitt Artists Pens series; there really isn’t anything on the market that is comparable considering how much these pens offer. The ink is of high quality, the nibs are sturdy and precise, the ink is waterproof and the variety of tips and colours cater for a range of tasks.

Love, love, love. I bought these as I had seen other people in groups I belong to rave about them, and honestly I thought that they couldn't be that much greater than the gel pen I use for writing and my Steadtler fine liners but boy was I wrong. I fell in love with these from the first moment of using them. The black is a deep rich black but the ink isn't too much so the amount put down on the paper is just right. They feel smooth to draw with (at least what I've used them for so far which is mainly geometric) and the nibs are putting up with all kinds of paper without fraying. I've found in the past that some artist pens etc don't work so well for me as I am lefthanded but I've had not issues with these.I tend to use the superfine pen the most though as I find the others too thick, I am aware there is an even finer pen available but I wish there was maybe not one of the others (Brush, Medium and Fine) and instead the very fine pen as I personally wouldn't call the fine grade fine.

PROs:* A nice deep black colour, the ink does look like the indian ink you'd normally buy in a pot. Flows smoothly.* Waterproof ink, which is good for colouring in your illustrations with watercolours.* Comfortable to hold.* They lasted longer than other reviews suggested.* Nice sizes, and the brush is nice to use.CONs:* The lids don't fit properly on the pens, they easily fall off allowing the nib to dry out. Especially the XS one.* Don't work so well on rough surfaces, such as 'NOT' watercolour paper.* I wish there was a size smaller than the XS.* The chisel tip is ok, but you're doing calligraphy there are much better quality pens out there than this one.I'd definitely recommend this product,it's just the issue of the ill-fitting caps that make it a 4 star product rather than a 5.

I've been doing Zentangle for a while now and have felt the need for greys to use as a third 'colour' (after black and white). Pencil didn't look right somehow. Various shades of grey, rather than just one, seemed ideal. I searched online for packs, but they were all far too expensive. The Faber-Castell Pitt brush pens were the perfect solution. As soon as they arrived, I made a little colour chart divided into warms and colds, giving the name of each pen, eg cold VI, IV, III (same for warms) and put swatches beneath the names. This helps me to find the correct shade of grey I need at any particular time. I keep this in the plastic pouch the pens come in.If I want to go over the picture with a watercolour wash, once the ink is dry, it's waterproof as it's indian ink.Excellent buy.

These pens are my favourite make of pen in the whole wide world. They write beautifully, draw even better, keep a constant colour tone throughout their use. They tend not to bleed on paper, and are the only ones I will use on my Moleskin notebook (I'm a slight perfectionist when it comes to stationary!). They are stated as archive worthy and fade proof, and I certainly have never seen any degradation or fading from my writings and drawings,The colour of these pens is a bit less red than in the picture, more orange. Still a nice colour, useful to add tones to sepia drawing or writing notes.I can't recommend these brand of pens enough, although you might want to try the sepia pens for a more natural looking drawing, but to add some fun colour to your sketches try these!

I love these black drawing pens from Faber Castell. I've just bought my second pack, three years later, as I'm drawing again. I like to do my initial sketches in pencil and then overlay them with the XS pen, and then finish with the S and M pens, whatever is called for with regards to boldness and thickness of line. I scan my drawings into the computer to then import into a graphics software (usually Coral Paint) for completing with colour etc.Caution - I was a little too heavy handed with the XS pen I had bought 3 years ago and had damaged the tip, voiding the tip's accuracy. These pens are very good quality - nice solid black - and last well (is this because I always replace the caps?).I'lltry uploading a couple of pics to show you what I've drawn using them.

the pens are good, i didnt notice much difference between the two smaller ones and the biggeswt one is miles bigger than the medium one you really have to use these standing erect, as in keep them perpendicular to the page at all times which is awkward for me as i draw a lot of circular shapes, so if you draw a circle because the sides have no ink one edge of the circle might be missed if you angle the pen as you draw. so that is a bit annoying for me personally a roller ball has a lot more sccope for changing the angle as you draw. they are also a little scratchy if you dont keep the pen perpendicular. and there is little to no give in the nibs.but that may be an advantage for some people.

A great (and cheaper) alternative to Copic, I use these all the time and Im pleased to say theyre perfectly up to scratch. As a user of both Faber-Castell and Copic products, I can safely say that these stand up well to their more expensive counterparts. They dont last as long as I would like, but then neither do the Copics, quality wise theyre top drawer.India ink is still the king when it comes to colour fast though. All these types of pen are prone to fade over the years, where as, I have india ink art thats still black years later.Buying these as set is a bargain price wise. As I write, the cost of a single XS pen on Amazon is roughly £4 so £6 for a set of 4 pens is a steal.

came within two days of buying which was better than amazon's estimate of over a week later. in the beinging i had high hopes for these pens, when i took them out of the packet i felt a bit cheated as they were "normal" looking. how wrong i was to judge them, im very heavy handed when it comes to pens (hence why the dont last me too long) but these have put up with my abuse for two weeks and look brand new, the nibs seem to spring back into shape after iv used them with force where some breake only after a few days. cant say about long term durability but they look promising.will properbly buy some a gift for someone who's trying to pinch mine :)

These are great artists pens - I love the bold one in particular as the nib allows you to create bold expressive marks, although the point of the nib does tend to lose it's sharpness fairly quickly. The ink is Indian ink and also waterproof, always a bonus, in fact I've used it on clothes before now and it didn't noticeably bleed into the material (faded black denim).I would have given 5 stars if you could buy packets of all one size i.e. all bolds or all mediums etc as I use bolds far more than I do any of the others. If you shop around you can find them sold individually in some art shops, although obviously that works out more expensive.

love using these pens for outlining any drawings i do. the ink dries really fast, so its extremely rare to ever smudge your work. The brush pen is really great too, helping to capture the flow of fur and texture on animals and hair. a little tip too! - if your brush pen ever starts to flatten out and you cant get those crisp thin lines, you simply take out actual writing bit with your fingers or tweezers and put it in the other way round (basically, its double sided) i've yet to test, but i think you can refill them too by taking off the top and putting in a bit of india ink. All in all, great set of pens!

I use these pens for bullet journaling and drawing, and no matter how many other brands I try, I always come back to these. They last for a long time, the tips are solid but have just enough give that you can experiment with the lines. The line thicknesses are perfect for my use, I use the F most of all, but there have been situations where each of them has been the right choice. Another bonus is that the link rarely bleeds through the paper, even on quite thin sheets. The pack is sturdy and I've kept them in it for as long as I've had them. This is my third pack, and I don't think it will be my last.

I really needed some new inking pens for my pencil lineart sketches as I often like to have an inked template before I colour. These pens don't come all THAAAAT thin, but for me, they are perfect. The ink runs very smoothly and is not excessive and so does not smudge easily. The largest pen is almost like a brush which is really nice for more pronounced or stylised lineart. In terms of value for money, I think these are very good, pens I can buy near me are so much more expensive and much more squeaky and stilted to glide across paper - these glide perfectly. They were also in prime condition, new.

Being using Faber-Castell products for years and never had a problem or issue with any of them. These pens are, as expected, excellent. Good quality ink, nice grip, good cap etc. The fact that the ink is waterproof makes these pens a good companion of the Tombow dual brush pens. Excellent for journaling, writing in general and of course also sketching and other creative activities. I used them on their own and with the Tombow brush pens with excellent results in both cases. I haven't tried using them with watercolours but I think they may perform well in that case too.
