Love these pencil crayons, also cheap too!PROS: Easy to holdMany Colours (in 24 pack)CONS: Weak ColourNot much difference in shadesSo, starting of with the pros... These pencil crayons are easy to hold, they are comfortable and don't hurt your hand while colouring (I'm left handed)Now moving on to the cons, these pencil crayons sadly produce a rather weak colouring, and you will find yourself pushing down significantly harder to get that desired colour. Also, if there was any confusion, when I tall about the shades and not much difference, I mean, in the 24 pack, you will get many colours, most are different shades (tones) of a colour, I think there are about 4 shades of blue for example, and you can use all 4 and not see that much of a difference between them, you might see more of a difference if you add more pressure when using them, but that was what I meant. Conclusion:Well, after that review, you may be wondering why I have given these pencil crayons 5 stars, and that is simply because, for the price, the cons I listed are expected. They are not artist pencil crayons and if you are looking for that type, then these are perhaps not for you, however I do think these are perfect for other uses, such as, for school. For the price, the quantity and range of colour, is excellent, therefore I would definitely recommend these.Thank you for reading my review, I really hope you found it helpful! :)

These are nice pencils to use with the Millie Marotta or Johanna Basford colouring books. The colours are very soft, nothing is harsh, all muted tones and don't give the look of traditional sets of primary colours aimed at children. A few of the shades are quite unusual; a plum as well as the red & purple, a rather nice teal, warm browns, a grey and a gorgeous olive. They have a pleasing look, they're quite slim pencils and seem to have a good weight, in feel they're reminiscent of the old Staedtler school pencils. The texture is not scratchy and they sharpen enough to cope with small detailed areas. Yes, there probably are better choices for true artists but for the price, and for those of us who are colouring book addicts, these are a good option. I would definitely buy them again.Edited to add: After using these for a week I've come to the conclusion that I'm less keen than I was initially. I feel the pencils are too hard, the colour is rather washed out unless you press very hard. If you want delicate pastel shades then fine but I've gone back to my trusty tin of Caran D'Ache Prismalo Aquarelle (from my school days and thus almost 40 years old). I'll return to the Staedtler Noris now and then.

I paid well under a fiver for this pack of 24 pencils, so I feel I have to review based partly on that. It would be churlish to expect them to perform as or judge them alongside the two polychromos I bought (at nearly £2 per pencil).I had an adult colouring magazine which recommended these as perfect for the job. I'm not so sure. They are quite hard and scratchy and they don't really blend, so the colours look fairly washed out.On the positive side, they feel very nice in the hand, being made of some kind of weighted material, and they look an attractive pencil. They also seem to sharpen evenly without breaking - despite the fact that the postman pretty much threw them through the letterbox onto our hard floor (as an aside,I do wish Amazon would put "fragile" on pencil packs as this isn't the first time this has happened). The range of colours is also pretty good.My teen daughter uses coloured pencils more for drawing with and she is getting on really well with these as you can get some really well defined lines with them. But for adult colouring, if you only want to pay around this price I'd look at Crayola or WHSmith Artist's colouring pencils - both of which I'd say do the job better.

My daughter is stationery mad ! I found these lovely colouring pencils on Amazon and bought them because I knew what good quality Staedtler stationery is.I am an Amazon Prime customer which I cannot fault because the next day delivery (even on Bank Holidays sometimes !) is amazing. This seller had arranged for this product to be fulfilled by Amazon to I received it the next day - thank you !The pens arrived beautifully presented in a metal tin, and a lovely range of colours. My daugther tells me that they are really good because they have lots of pigment in them and you don't have to press really hard to get colour out of the pencils.A great stationery staple, and would also make a great gift if you know a stationery diva !My job now is to ensure she replaces the pencils back in the handy tin, and not dotted around the house !I received this product at a discounted price, for an honest review (which this is!). Thank you ![...]

The only thing wrong with these colour pencils is they only come in a pack of 24. I would have gladly paid more for them to be in a tin. They keep a sharp point so will be ideal for small detailed patterns or pictures. Nice coating on pencils nice to hold. The produce a deep bright colour or can be almost translucent with lighter pressure. It all depends really what kind of result you like I have a set of derwent academy which are a good buy from Amazon, Marco Refine tin of 48 which also are a great pencil. A small tin of Studio 12 derwent and derwent Metalic 12 which are again all great pencils with slightly different finishes But I would have loved a much larger set of these Staedtler's sucha lovely range of colour and just what I was looking for a harder pencil I know some people have said that they find them a little scratchy and this kind of put me off but having read other reviews I decided to give them ago so pleased I did.

I didn't read the reviews on these Staedtler pencils prior to buying and I now notice how many are poor reviews. So, I ordered my pencils and then dreaded them arriving thinking I'd made a mistake buying them. Well, I ordered and within 2 days they arrived. I opening the box I was disappointed the pencils weren't in a plastic case like my other Staedtler products are but still, it's a nice box and if I'd read the reviews I probably would of know! The pencils are a lovely wide range of colours and I tried each one so I could see for myself how easy they are to colour with and if like the reviews they were going to disappoint. The colour shades are really nice andI have no trouble colouring with them. They're certainly not a disappointment to me! Beautiful shades and I can't wait to get started with them!

These were bought as a Diwali present for my 3 year old who loves colouring. She was thrilled to have such a range of colours available as we previously only had a set of around 10 pencils. They were easy for her to use and they have fallen on the wooden floor a number of times and we have not had any breakages.I feel a few of the colours are very similar and could have been replaced with another shade but overall we are very happy with these pencils. We found the box they came in not to be very durable for a young child so have bought a clear pencil case to store them in so that she can see which colours she has/needs.We have also since bought the pack of 24 from this range as part of a presentfor her cousin.

The lead can be quite hard at times and tough to get a rich colour out of without pressing down hard, so be careful if using thin paper. If you keep them sharp enough to make life easier, there is a very good range of colours on offer here - and a slightly unusual range all things considered. I appreciate that, because it means I can get tones that are in between the basic spectrum you usually get with coloured pencils, so this is a good set to have if you want to expand out a little (really useful for adult colouring books with way too many fine details). On a separate note, the coating on the pencils is also a nice surprise. It gives a better grip and just a little more comfort.

I was going to give them 2 stars as I bought them for the adult colouring books and I was really disappointed to start with. After a while I figured out that they don't simply work with the book I bought due to the type of paper they used... they work good however with Joanna Basford's Enchanted Forest book which I'm really pleased about. The lead is quite hard, especially on the very light colours, but the colours are lovely more of a pastelly sort of finish but you can get great results, they blend not bad either. If you dont like pastel colours and prefer more vivid ones I suggest you don't go for these, otherwise they're good for the money.

Priced at £4.99 on the 27th December 2015, I purchased these pencils for my wife as a stocking filler to accompany a colouring book; felt tips not working with the paper. My wife is somewhat more than someone who colours negative templates, but I felt that she could doodle using the book and de-stress after a busy day. She has been very pleased with these pencils. The lead is hard and allows an even coverage, the pencils are easy to sharpen and the lead stays intact. With this in mind, my wife has produced a number of sketches today and she feels that the pencils are good quality.Overall a nice item.

I use these pencils for my colouring book and I absolutely love them! Provided that you use them carefully and they aren't used for children, you can make them last a long time and I still haven't sharpened any of mine yet because they last so long. Each colour is beautiful and looks exactly the same on paper and each pencil is great quality as none of them have broken yet and they are just lovely colours! I would recommend to all of my colouring friends and also to children because they are unlikely to break very easily and are great quality!

Super pencils and give excellent, rich colours ON APPROPRIATE PAPER.. I purchased these to go with a couple of the adult colouring books that seem to be flavour of the month (or year?). Unfortunately the pages of these books were coated in something which had a serious obstructive effect on transfering the colours on to the page! On 'normal' paper the pencils worked beautifully producing vibrant colours with virtually no pressure at all.Would thoroughly recommend but make sure you know what medium you're going to be working on.

Super pencils, have just bought for my sons (both 7) to use with the 'grown up' colouring book (Jungle Paradise by Lorna Scobie) and they are finding them so much nicer and easier to use (and they don't break every 5 minutes!) than the standard 'kid's' colouring pencils they had.I was given a set for Christmas to use in my colouring books and they are lovely to use, hardwearing and comfortable to hold being hexagonal they don't slip.We are all thoroughly enjoying our colouring sessions.

Ordered these because I had then before but they all became very short and unusable. Best pencils for colouring as hobby, probably not for people wanting to use them professionally like art for university but they're brilliant for colouring books or adding to art. Theyre amazkng value for money and i wont be changing the pencils i use any time soon!PS Cardboard packaging is a bit flimsy and rips easily but they can be transferred to a pencil case, so grab one a head of time!

These pencils were a christmas gift for my Mother in Law. She loves adult colouring books but had not yet treated herself to quality pencils. Childrens pencils do not blend well and often have only low pigmentation. I wanted to get her something that would blend, deliver varied amounts of pigmentation depending on how she used them and really improve her overall experience of colouring these beautiful pictures. She seems to really like them, and was very happy with my gifts.
