We like non fleecy underblankets, with safety features. We bought KS as we have KS beds, as a previous reviewer mentioned dont economise and try a double blanket on a 5 foot bed - it will not fit. Also do please read and keep the Instruction leaflet. This blanket preheats pretty rapidly and will have the worst of a winters cold bed gone in 15 minutes, it has a safety overheat which is vital and the overnight heat was just what was needed over the Winter 2010 freeze up and in spring 2011 (oh and comforting for Man Flu patients)! The 3 temperature settings do make a difference and full heat is comfortably warm but not hot (if you are sensitive to heat the middle setting is good too). This suits us wonderfully,it does what it says on the tin - we have not needed to wash it and hopefully wont for a while, but it is non bulky and easy to get in a machine.Friends have been converted to electric blankets with this product and it does nicely on our latex bed too vis it does not make it too warm, but conversly keeps warmth longer too. It airs spare beds a treat too so we are pleased and will buy a 3rd (single) for next winter. If you love fleecy electric underblankets or electric duvets this is probably not for you. If you like or have a cold bedroom and need a warm bed this is super, and if you have the control and need a sneaky top up of warmth the control isn't going to give you away!

I cannot believe I've waited so many years before getting one! It provides the body with the ability to warm up in a fraction of the time it would take using a fan heater in a room or a hot water bottle. It's like slipping into a bath of warm water!I always suffer with cold feet in the winter, as does my elderly father, and sometimes cannot sleep for ages because of it. However, just turning this on for 20 - 30 minutes before bed warms the bed up so well that you can turn it off the minute you get in and be guaranteed to be nice and warm and toasty in minutes, thereby aiding a very good night's sleep. If has three heat settings which is more than adequate.Number three allows you to turn it on full and you can then turn it off after getting in or just before. If it's very cold, you can leave it on setting number one (the lowest) overnight. It's perfectly safe and can be washed also, just be careful not to scrunch or fold against the wires and dry flat.I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to stay warm and cosy on cold nights. It comes with a three-year guarantee too, so it is well worth the investment.

My partner had been suggesting that we get an electric blanket for quite a while, but I resisted, as I didn't think we needed one. Well I was wrong! This electric underblanket is simply fantastic - we live in a very very cold flat, where the rooms never seem to get warm, and we've endured the recent bad winter poorly. But not anymore. We use it on the highest setting to warm the bed up before we get in and then switch it off, so I can't comment on what it's like when used all night, but it definately does the job for us, and heats up fairly quickly. You to have to ensure that the bed is covered to retain the heat though, but that's not exactly a problem. One thing I will mention is that we bought the kingsize blanket even though we only have a double bed and it fits perfectly, practically from edge to edge. I would definately recommended anyone else to do the same, as the dimensions of the double size one just don't seem generous enough to me.

As the weather became colder and colder, minus 10 degrees on some nights, filling hot water bottles,(and emptying them again in the morning) became too much of a chore. After some thought, the most practicable and sensible thing to do was to replace them with an electric blanket.I was very lucky to obtain this one as due to the freezing temperatures, the store was almost sold out. Everybody seemed to be buying electric blankets. However I did manage to obtain this one that I have now and am very pleased with it indeed. It's lovely to get into a warm bed every night in these winter months, and not having to worry about rubber bottles splitting or scalding ones feet. The best thing that I have bought this winter. The three different heat settings are a boon as you are able to regulate the temperature of the blanket as the weather changes. Highly reccommended.

I've owned several electric blankets, so have some yardstick by which to compare this king-sized blanket.I use it on a kingsize bed, and it is fits well, with the mains connector close to the edge of the bed, so you don't end up lying on it..It has 3 heat settings, and on the highest it warms the bed adequately in about 15 mins. and lovely and hot in an hour. You can leave it on the lowest setting all night if you wish. The heating element cannot be felt through the nice fleece finish. The quality of manufacture seems very good, and as it has a 3-year guaranteee, the manufacturers must be confident of their workmanship. In the past, some 'kingsize' blankets were too small for kingsize beds, but with this fitted at the bottom of the bed, it reaches to just below the pillows, which is how it should be.Very pleased with it.

The Silentnight underblanket has been a welcome addition to our home this winter.Combined with the product name and the price of the product these were the main reasons for initially choosing the product.Last winter had been a extra cold winter and with the rising costs of energy bills alternative measures rather than a hot water bottle had to be found. This product was easy to put on and fit snugly on the bed .The added benefits are the 3 year guarantee, easy washing, and also has an overheat protection. We use the heating setting at 3 ,but it has the capacity to be used at 1 throughout the night..What we prefer is putting on the blanket 15 minutes before going to bed and tunring it off again when we reach toasty in our bed about 35 minutes later.Great product at a good value.

We purchased this to replace an old electric blanket on a spare bed, as we had guests coming to stay. It fitted our 5 foot bed perfectly. Only slight problem was that one of securing ties unravelled as soon as we pulled it to secure at the other side of the bed. However, even though that shouldn't happen with abrand new cord, it was made of strong stuff, and the unravelled tie still ecured no problem. We tested the blanket for two nights before use, and it heated up very quickly, and was cosy in no time. Like all underblankets the control panel is a bit of a pain, (possibly literally), as it is positioned just where your shoulders are, but this does seem to be the case with them all,so maybe until someone redesigns this, it's best to sleep well in from the edge of the bed!

I originally wanted a double sized heated blanket but after reading a number of reviews, a recurring niggle was that the double was small. I opted to pay the extra fiver for the king size and I'm so glad I did! Two side edges need to be slightly folded round the mattress but the heating elements aren't effected. The result is that the entire double bed benefits from warmth. It's straight forward to fit and the fleece material feels cosy as soon as you get in. The controls are simple and very easy to use.My reason for not giving it 5 stars is that it takes a while to get warm - it's certainly not toasty in 15 minutes but it takes the chill off the bed which is all I need at the moment. If I want it warmer I just have to remember to turn it on in good time!

I haven't had an electric blanket for years and years ... and my abiding memory was of that horrid lump of a connection that digs into your shoulder, so I've put off having another one. But this one is brilliant, and is proving well worth the wait. It's smooth and undetectable under the bottom sheet, and reaches a glorious temperature on 3 - can't vouch for 1 or 2 because I haven't tried them - but I would defy anyone to want it hotter. As for the lump, it seems much flatter than previous blankets ... and anyway, I've turned the blanket the other way round, so this one's on my husband's side! He hasn't complained (and he would, trust me) so I'm guessing it's not a problem. So,along with being excellent value, it's a great product all round.

This is the first electric blanket i have ever bought so cant really compare this with any other types. I went with the advice on the reviews i read and got a kingsize for a double bed, this is the best advice i have been given, the double would i think have been to small and not covered all the bed, also the connection plug bit which seems to be in an akward place is tucked away to one side (ha ha his side not mine). Have to turn it on about half to three quarters of hour before bed, but once warmed up is wonderful how did i live without this before, cant wait to get into bed, and if very cold leave on no 1 overnight no probs.Could poss do with extra warmth at foot end but for price is brilliant.

I bought this underblanket to replace a double underblanket I bought for my double bed. The double underblanket was just too small. And there was a problem with the socket on the blanket such that it jabbed in the back of whoever was unfortunate enough to be on that side of the bed. This king size underblanket is just right for a double bed. It warms up quickly, and the socket is just off to the side of the bed if you position the underblanket carefully. Having complimented this blanket, I have to add a warning that it may not be suitable for a king size bed. I don't have one. But if you're buying it for a double bed, it's fine.

Getting into bed on a freezing cold night is now a pleasure with one of these. The '15 minutes' to heat the bed quoted by the manufacturer is a little optimistic - I find it needs a good hour at the highest setting to ensure the bed is really warm and cosy - but according to my electricity monitor this is costing just 1p an hour, so it's very economical. By way of a little tip, securing the blanket with the attached strings proved a challenge at first but I hit upon using a couple of curtain rail hooks, screwed into the side of the bed at each fastening point, to wrap the ends around to make a really tight fit. Works a treat.

Very good product for the price. We found that we needed to set the blanket on level 3 about half an hour before we went to bed to take the chill off the covers as level 1 didn't quite do the trick quick enough - but that is certainly not a compromise! The electric box on the blanket is a bit of a nuisance as the blanket is ever so slightly narrower than our king size bed, which means you can end up laying on it if you bed share with a 'bed hog'. Regardless of this, we love the blanket, it was my best buy of the year and I would recommend it as a product.

With the colder nights now closing in this is the perfect purchase to start a cozy night. The blanket comes with 3 heat settings. The instruction booklet is very self explanatory. It's as easy as plug and go and the bed is warm in 15 minutes. The only downfall is the powerlead. With the underblanket located on the bed, I found the lead got in the way slightly, so I have pulled the blanket over so that it rests on the down side of the matress. The under blanket also comes with a 3 year guarantee - what more could you ask for. A good investment all round.

Really pleased with this underblanket! Gets the bed really nice and toasty! I bought the kingsize on recomendation from other reviewers an this is just the right size for a double if you are wanting to warm the whole bed. So be aware that they are smaller in relation to the bed size they are for.My only criticism of this blanket is that I dont feel it warms up that quickly, I generally have mine on for about an hour before going to bed and its lovely an warm by then, this has really helped my bad back aswell.Hope this has helped with your decision.
