An old ATX system was crashing on a regular basis and the cheap PSU fitted by the PC builder was suspect. This Seasonic is the second of this brand purchased. The Focus line comes well packed with all the cables and hardware needed to run a fairly standard motherboard with Intel chipset. The fully modular i.e. no cables permanently fixed to the chassis means that installation is straightforward, but probably adds to the cost.Unfortunately, the power cable supplied was a two pin Schuko European type, despite the fact the unit was going to a UK address (The supplier is German). The Seasonic instructions supplied are minimal and the usual multi-language - the English relevant instructions cover about two sides of booklet pages,so if you need to know more, you will have to go to the Seasonic website.Fortunately, the ATX standard makes it difficult to get things wrong, but as a precaution, I log all the old cables before removal (I use key tags attached with cable ties to identify both ends of the cables). All the new cables fitted the Asus motherboard, the only slight issue being the additional 4-way CPU cable which has a 4-way socket on the motherboard, but the Seasonic cable has two separate 4-way plugs fitted. As the Seasonic cables and separate wires are not colur-coded, it took a little while with a multimeter to confirm that the plugs were identical and both carried Ground and +12-volts. The unused plug was cable-tied back to make sure it could not touch and components on the motherboard.Additional cable tie self-adhesive bases helped keep everything firm and tidy.Powering up was straightforward and in use, this PSU is pretty much silent. The PSU has a pushbutton on the back of the unit which can be used to set the working mode of the cooling fan. Exactly what it does is not explained in the instructions, but one mode seems to be fan speed proportional to PSU temperature, the other has the fan running and blowing warm air from the rear of the PSU. Very little noise is heard and this new PSU has produced a much quieter running PC than before.Overall, lightweight instructions and unusable mains lead aside, I would recommend this unit and would buy again

I recently upgraded my GPU to an RTX 2060 and needed a wattage boost. There are plenty of decent PSU manufacturers these days, but I opted for a Seasonic unit because PSUs are their main business, and their engineers still set the standard for everyone else working in the PSU industry. Seasonic has always been confident in their products, and I'm a fan of the ten-year warranty they offer with this one.The FOCUS Gold is robust, as you'd expect for a unit that costs nearly £80 at the moment. The casing is rock solid, the powder black matte finish is beautiful, and I think it would look good in any case with a dominant black aesthetic, especially if you've got golds and yellows in there as well. The cables are good quality, but are only provided in black. No fancy coloured sheathing is on display here, but the beauty of having a fully modular unit is that you can always change these out later if you want to.The PSU is certainly very quiet and I can't hear it over my case fans, even when nearing maximum load. However, if you want truly silent operation, then opting for a high-wattage unit certified to the 80 Plus Platinum or Titanium standard might be better. The only problem I have with the retail unit is that the 4+4 cable for the CPU is a little too short to be routed behind my motherboard, so I've had to leave it loose in the main cavity without managing it. However, this is in the context of a case (Fractal Design R4) that vents the PSU fan downwards through the bottom of the chassis. If your PSU is top-mounted, or your PSU is bottom-mounted but the fan vents into the case, it'll be fine.If you want a high-quality, efficient, and reasonably affordable PSU for an aesthetically clean mid-range PC build, then I don't think you could do much better than the FOCUS Gold without spending almost double the price!

I bought this as I had upgraded everything else in my PC except my PSU which was a 6 year old Corsair CX600. Everything else was incredibly quiet except the old Corsair PSU and it was incredibly annoying. It was fine until I started a game at which point the PSU would heat up and the fan would spin incredibly loud. I had previously cleaned the PSU of dust and lubed the fan which helped for a short while but made no difference. I bought this PSU to replace it and I could not be happier. The fan is not audible compared to my old PSU and it was much easier to cable manage with than my previous non-modular PSU.It came with 2 dust bags for storing any spare cables and some standard AND Velcro cable ties.Overall I am very happy with my purchase and could not recommend this PSU enough given the reasonable price.

This is everything you need as long as you do not belong to the 1% of PC user community, who run multiple high powered GPUs and latest and greatest processors overclocked to their limits. The power supply works very cool and quiet. Most of the times, when idling or browsing the web it won't even turn on it's fan, because it doesn't need cooling. It is modular, which allows you to save some space in your PC case, as it won't be cluttered with unused cables and is relatively small in size, so you won't have problems with fitting it to smaller cases. Overall, a fantastic product for a good price.

I expected more from this new line of Seasonic PSUs. Nice quality on the main Psu, but the cables on a 95£ Psu are on the border of ok. The 24pin mobo and 8 pin Cpu cables are almost unbendable when routing them through the ruber grommets in the Evolv atx. Not to mention the Pci-e cable which suppose to support SLI/Crossfire but sacrifices quality and looks in the process. Almost same quality of cables on my 40£ collermaster psu. Otherwise 20 zipties 5 cable routing velcros and nice finish on the main Psu housing as mentioned before. Should have bought from the PRIME line.

I purchased the 550 W version as theoretically my computer build required 350 W and I wanted to have some spare capacity. It replaced a Corsair CX600M which failed at 30 months. The unit, which i fully modular, came very well packaged. The ATX cable connector and the SATA connectors easily slid into the motherboard sockets (which had been a problem for the previous Corsair ATX cable). It is installed in a Fractal Design case and it is barely audible. It comes with a 10 year guarantee which for the price is a great offer.

Building a new Ryzen 7 gaming PC, I wanted to make sure I had a good, reliable PSU from a decent manufacturer and the Seasonic Focus Plus was just that.Quality is good, the cables could perhaps feel a be more premium but this isn't a top line unit so those concessions are fair enough. Been running this for nearly two months without issue, it's nice and quiet and hasn't given me any concern. Easy to install and being a modular PSU, it really helps the cable management using only the cables you need.

Plenty of power - quality feel and build and lots of cable options for anythingbut the most extravagant build configurations.Nice option for the cooling fan also.I did not find any issues with cable stiffness that others complained of - but that said I built it into a huge case and that may have negated some of the issues with me having more space for connections than a smaller case would have necessitating tighter bends on the cabling as a result.

Installation was easy. Due to its modular design (why I chose this one over cheaper units) the PC case is no longer filled with seemingly metres of unrequired cable, allowing easier access for cleaning heat sinks, etc.. Otherwise, I couldn't care less about how it looks. I'm hard of hearing, so cannot comment about noise levels, except that it's quieter than my graphics card and the 8 year old power supply unit that it replaced.

This is paired with a Radion VII, Ryzen 1700 and lots of storage etc. Everything is overclocked. This runs it all with ease. The Seasonic doesn’t get hot, doesn’t whine and doesn’t struggle do deliver power. I’m sure it’s efficient but I have no way to check.I returned my Corsair 750CX to Amazon and got this instead. Much less noise coming from my machine now. It costs a little more but it’s worth the extra.

750w fully modular 80+ gold for less than £100?! Bargain. The option to set the PSU fan to auto is a great addition. Very sturdy and well built. Cables are very solid and look great with no 'ketchup & mustard' cables showing. The smallest little thing wrong with it, is that the MoBo connector is very stiff to bend, so in smaller cases can be a bit tricky, but still fits with a bit of moving around.

Needed a better power supply to drive a video card, looking to buy a 650w but the 750w was exactly the same price, so why not? Only had it connected to the system for a couple of days but very impressed so far. Easy to install, modular so you only use what you need and plenty of cables for future expansion. Very quiet in operation. Really pleased with this so far.

I will only ever buy Seasonic PSU's. Never once had a problem with them unlike other brands. Seasonic also make PSU's for the "premium" range of other manufacturers too. So if you are looking at high end Corsair's for example, then those are most likely made by Seasonic too and badged as Corsair. This is silent and provides good strong power.

A bit pricey by comparison with the more generic but lower powered PSUs I'm used to, but I suspect I will be glad of the purchase...eventually. Doddle to install. Came in laughably excessively OTT glammed-up box and packaging, presumably for the gamer community who like a bit of bling. But thank God no flashing rainbow LEDs when switched on!

I've had a fair few of these now, they are reliable, silent to my ears and I've never had an issue with coil whine on my GPUs (Could be coincidence but I have had a lot of GPUs)I had to contact their customer service once, I cant remember why but it wasn't the PSU that was at fault in the end and they were very helpful.
