I bought the 500W version of this PSU to replace a Corsair CX550M which was perfectly fine but was definitely the loudest component in my system. I was expecting the sound level to drop when I installed this, but the difference was truly remarkable. It is virtually silent now when under low load, which is the most critical time when I want the least noise (when watching videos or working quietly). I have a Noctua U12 air cooler on a Ryzen 2600X and an EVGA FTW2 1070 Ti along with three NZXT case fans and I can barely tell the system is running now when it's idle. If you want a silent or near-silent PSU then this certainly ticks the boxes.The PSU itself is semi-modular,

Very quiet! It was easily the quietest PSU I’ve ever had. The rifle bearing fan made zero motor noise, no clicking or whining like other models I’ve had in the past. The only thing you could occasionally hear is the air moving in when under load but that’s perfectly acceptable and unavoidable ...BUT.. my specific model had a fault and was making a lot of noise like something was shorting out inside, so I’m in the process of returning it for a different bequiet! Model. Thankfully I don’t need to worry as amazon stepped in with their excellent customer and I should have my replacement tomorrow, hence why I only taken away one star, otherwise I would have rated it much lower.Conclusion,

I was worried about how much noise this fan would make, so went for a PSU with a bit more power than required. If the PSU is not being used to full capacity, then it will reduce the fan speed by a bit. A little pricey compared to other fans but better value than the going market rate in comparable shops.You get what you pay for in PC fans and this is made to a very high quality. The first time, I have ever installed a PSU that fitted in first time, without having to add or modify any of the power connectors. This PSU has all all the power connectors that you will ever need for old and new PCs.

Its a no-brainer that a beQuiet PSU would be fantastic for an HTPC. I've had it running non-stop for 3 months in a dusty living-room and you'd be hard pressed to know it existed.The modular cables are fairly standard, though I like how the molex ends into the PSU are straight rather than cubed - made for that extra fraction of space for my GPU.Not a fan of the plastic fan appearance, and no RGB, but its a PSU - who's really looking for BeQuiet for something sexy?Overall, very chuffed

Reason for 4 stars is that I connot comment on durability. But so far, the power output has been stable and the motherboard has booted up every single time without any issues.Ah, also, the PC that I assembled using this power supply is on for about 18 hours every day, again with no issues.

It's runs completely silent as you would expect. Modular cables are always nice to have and the cables are slightly shorter than average I think; everything fits perfectly in a Fractal Define C TG case (smaller size ATX case).If you have a larger case, go for the Straight Power series.

BEQUIET by name, and yes this is certainly quiet in operation too. Installation was a breeze with a preinstalled main cable and a good selection of modular cables - you will have some left. I thoroughly recommend this PSU.

in my pc for many months and no issues as i would expect. replaced my old (2013) OCZ PSU i only replaced because it was ageing not because it had failed. I choose my PSU's carefully. recommended.
