I got MotoGP first and loved it, especially the fact that that you had to build up your carrer through 125cc and 250cc. Did not like the fact that you were limited to only 5 seasons. It is difficult, as it should be and I don't know how it could be made more realistic to actually racing a bike.SBK came my way and it is both superior and inferior to MotoGP. The realism of riding is almost identical although your back wheel spins up far more easily in this game. There is large amount of time spent in the pit lane garage which I can imagine will annoy those who just want to press the triggers as hard as possible. The available settings in SBK is far more varied (and complicated if you want it to be)and there is far more practice sessions before the actual race. The weather can turn on you during each race meeting (just like real life) which it doesn't in MotoGP.I was slightly disappointed that there is no Supersport prelude like the 125 & 250 in MotoGP.Do opt for the tutorial seesions if you have not experienced this type of racing before although, if like me you have, you can bypass it and go straight to the racing.I don't feel the graphics are as good as MotoGP, but SBK is better in terms of annoying little things that happen in MotoGP. There is nowhere near, if any, as much stupid, non-sensical bike collisions in warm-up laps etc. MotoGP suffers from some miraculous and totally "impossible" saves from the competition during the races. I have not noticed this in SBK. If you push a rider out wide, even onto the grass or gravel, he stays behind you unlike in MotoGP where he can suddenly appear inside you going even faster. It really is 6 of one, half a dozen of the the other. Both are worth the money and I enjoy both eaqually. Solution? Rent them both and make your own mind up, or like me buy both anyway.

Three hours ago I put this on for a 'quick race' before i hopped on my real fireblade to go to the shop. The shop is now closed!SBK08 may be out of date now SBK09 is around but all that means is you can get a hugely enjoyable bike racing game for a bargain price. Whether you want a quick race, a full weekend or a full season you wont be dissapointed. There are plenty of game modes to fill whatever time you have to spend and loads of user configurable realism settings so you dont have to worry about crashing at every corner. If you just want to race and let the ai do the gears, the rider position etc you can.If you are hardcore and want to control everything yourself you can. There are challenge modes and unlockables to keep things interesting and if your fingers start to hurt from all the racing you can sit back and watch a replay of the whole race which i frequently do. The graphics could be better, and probably are in SBK 09 but they are on par with most PS3 racing games, although the grid girls and safety car do look a bit plastic. MotoGP does look a lot more real but its the gameplay that keeps this up there with the best.If you are into bikes and want a value for money racer and arent bothered about having the most up to date bikes and riders then you wont be disappointed. There is a bit of a learning curve but once you have memorised the tracks and got the realism set up how you are comfortable with you are in for a treat!

What a great game. Don't just expect to jump on and be great at it first time out though. It takes patience. You'll crash 10 times in the 1st lap and 5 times on your 15 but one you get the hang of it it all becomes clear. One mastered its very satisfying. This game will suit bike enthusiasts. Not little babies who expect to go round corners without braking, then go to a review site to slag the game off when they can't play it.Online is also good - way way smoother than gt5. It can be configured in most ways.
