The older 30MB/s cards were pretty good for normal day to day use, not super fast but likely good enough for many users (ie not slow either) I have a few of those around and they are reliable and satisfactory in use. This newer SanDisk is updated to 50MB/s (but take note for read times only)Testing (raw files transfer from PC to card) in a USB 3.0 Card reader I got:Write: 27MB/sRead: 48MB/sSo that's in line with the makers specifications (this can vary depending on USB and card reader)The previous generation of Ultra CF cards were reading at about 29/30MB/s, write times were about 20MB/sA step up in speed (more so for the read times) In camera buffer clearing times were improved. It's not as fast as the extreme cards (60MB/s read and write) but still far from sluggish. Users with pro level bodies and doing lots of burst shooing will probaly go for the UDMA 7 Extreme PRO super fast cards. Write speed is now roughly in line with the older Extreme III 30MB/s (previous Ultra model before this was somewhat slower)For 90% of users this is fast enough. Take note though the 4GB version is only rated to 25MB/s. Most cameras (even older ones) can take at least 8GB, do check though to make sure. 8Gb or over is the one to go for.Good product, the long warranty adds confidence, not had to use it to date.

I bought this CF card for my older Olympus C-8080 camera, which has only ever been used with an XD card, although the camera can accommodate CF cards. This camera is supposed work with 4gb CF cards according to online wisdom, but alas, the C-8080 failed to format the card. As I also have a Canon EOS 30D with a Sandisk Extreme III 1gb CF card installed, I tried this in the C-8080, which the camera formatted without a problem. I then installed the 4gb CF card in the Canon and formatting was successful. In this case switching cards was obviously a solution, but I would caution anyone from accepting online advice as accurate.I ordered the Sandisk 30 MB/s CF card and received the newer 25 MB/s CF card, which is contrary to the product displayed on the Amazon page. No explanation has been offered by the supplier. I needed nothing faster in the Olympus C-8080 camera. Fortunately, for my photographic requirements, the Canon does not seem to be limited by this new CF card.

I have used, San Disk cards before for my Digital cameras. (Mainly: SD. for many years, and have always found them to be very reliable and trustworthy compared to the cheaper options tried!) I would always recommend the Ultra version, as you get faster speeds and most important: Reliable transfer of data and longevity of Insertions/Removals from card readers & cameras. (Obviously they have better Gold plated contacts, than the rivals) I have been using this 4GB. card for data transfers a lot lately, in a PCMCIA adaptor and with my other purchase; The excellent Integral CF card reader. And have after extensive use found both to be Totally reliable and Excellent value for money!I would like to mention, please take care when: Inserting the CF card, as it has 50 minute connection pins. (2x25) These can be easily damaged if "Forced" into place, especially at an angle. (Insert "Gently" and it will last for many years!)

Says 50MB/s read speed on the card but I actually got 88 out of it... and writes at 42MB/s as well (SanDisk don't specify this on the packaging other than to say it is lower, but 42MB/s was more than I was expecting). All much speedier than my DSLR camera requires. Testing done using a USB3 card reader plugged into a PC running Chkflsh. A USB2 card reader connection will get lower speeds. It has passed a write and verify of data on the whole memory card, so this is a genuine fully functional card. I don't intend to give it a good hammering (100 write/erase cycles) to really test it out... mainly because I would rather get on using it in my camera!!

These cards are meant for mid-range DSLR cameras. My Canon 50D takes 15M pictures and I take combined shots of a large RAW (15M)+ a large JPG (15 M) simultaneously. I use single shots at a relaxed space and do not have any problems. I bought a 32 GB card and it has space for over 1000 combined shots of 30M in size. The writing and reading times are perfectly adequate, so I would say this is excellent value for money. Even if I take 4-5 shots in rapid succession the writing time needed is minimal. I don't use video so I don't know how it would handle full HD video, but for regular combined RAW+JPG photographs this is very good.

I have used SanDisk memory exclusively for many years and have never had a failure. But I did recently lose two old, 4GB SanDisc Compact Flash cards. I was going to get like-for-like replacements, but in the many years I've had them, the price has fallen dramatically and the write speed increased significantly, so I bought a single 50mb/s, 16GB card, and it's great! I have an old Canon EOS 50D and this card holds in excess of 600 RAW files, writes quickly and has worked flawlessly. Highly recommended.

Ordered 2 of these & they work very well in my Nikon D300, but, my only complaint is, these cards do NOT come in their own protective case anymore. I used to find the case very handy just to keep in your pocket etc. When I contacted Sandisk they replied "Please allow me to inform you that SanDisk has stopped providing plastic cases with the memory cards for environmental reasons and they are not available anymore in our stock".So, If you want the CF card case look at another make.

I bought this for one of my DSLR cameras 8GB is plenty for me I shoot jpeg most of the time.Tried other makers but seem to get on well with Sandisk it's well made and has not had any problems with corruption or lost files at all.It is fairly fast in camera I don't shoot high bursts that often but the rating is I think for the read time not the write it's still plenty fast enough for meVery pleased bit more expensive than some maker well worth it

I now always purchase sandisk and they have never failed me. I use this and a DSLR and it can cope with everything I throw at it with ease. The extreme may be more desirable if you use yoour camera for HD video, although I'm sure this version would be more than adequate, although if you are not sure (and it can be difficult to decide which to get), do look at the Sandisk site for recommendations for the particular product you intend to use it with.

I use this card in a Canon EOS 7D. The Ultra cards are not as fast as the Extreme range, but perfectly adequate for my use with this camera. 8fps shooting RAW and JPG and I can get a few decent bursts before the buffer fills. I tend to shoot portraits so that doesn't tend to be an issue. I have Sandisk cards for my other bodies and can't fault them. They are a fine and reliable brand and I'd recommend them to anybody and everybody.

I bought two of these for my professional DSLR as a replacement for my Transcend ones, which had ok speeds but they couldn't keep up with my workflow. In stark comparison, these CF cards from Sandisk, had read / write speeds that were phenomenal when shooting raw images and left my other cards in the dust.Good quality cards, which arrived in frustration-free packaging, yay! Highly recommended.

Having had an almost new 8Gb card of another, less well known make go belly up at the wrong moment and not having a spare with me I came home and ordered two 4 GB Sandisc cards. I trust them! Also followed the advice seen a long yime ago in a photo magazine. Have more than one smaller cards rather than one big one.!THe cards were ordered late Saturday night and arrived on Tuesday. Thanks.

I bought this to act as a hard drive for my Amiga 1200.As long as you follow the basics (first partition under 2GB, correct maxtransfer on all partitions etc., use 3rd party filing system like PFS3aio) using as a hard drive will be just like using a real IDE hard drive.I had to mention all this as not al CF cards are compatible with the Amiga.

It's a compact flash card and it works in my Canon 7D. I'm not noticing anything unusual - it's not super fast and it's not super slow. It's too early to tell how durable it is, but CF cards don't feel as fragile as SD cards. I'm not likely to take it out of the camera very often so I'm not worried about mechanical wear and tear.

So far so good. I do tend to stay with SanDisk when I can. 16GB is big enough. I guess if you're taking 100's of photographs at a time you may want a couple of these or something with more storage but I prefer playing safe. There's less to lose if a card fails. My experience over the last few years is that SanDisk is reliable.
