Great and easy upgrade for any PC/laptop. Bought it during black friday at 85£ so well it would be really ridicolous to discuss the amazing performance bump you get for the money. Hands down the best deal you can get for such expense. Switching to solid state drives is always a win/win whatever is your priority: better speeds for the OS, faster gaming, faster application especially the heavy ones, less noise, lower power consumption (hence longer battery range for laptops), less heat, less weight, more space for air circulation inside PC cases.Yes there is this downside of reliabilty that theoretically is inferior to old disk drives, however beside the fact that you can have a mixed hardware set-up with storage on some 3Tb HD and system and apps on 480Gb SSD so you get the best of both worlds...thing is that your SSD first will not die from one day to the other, that is why they come with excellent software to monitor and optimize performance, second HD die too and frankly today that electronics is just another mass market products you are going to upgrade your PC parts any few years anyway. So my suggestion for those worried about this, is to consider things in perspective, applied in a real world scenario is just a not so relevant problem, beside the fact that backup data whould be a common practice in any case SSD or HD hardware. One last thing: bear in mind that the packaging is really minimal, beside the SSD there is nothing else, smooth if upgrading a laptop but in case you are on a PC you need to busy separately a sata cable and, a unless your case has already a built in bay of the correct size, you will need docking bay adapter.

Replaced a 2nd Gen Seagate Hybrid ST750LX003 (7200rpm, 32MB cache, 8GB Flash) with this and the feeling is a slight improvement. It's always faster, but we are talking by less than two seconds from resume or somewhere around the same from cold. It does seem to churn less on updates and of course it's totally silent rather than the (occasional) click and whirr of the mechanical drive.Haven't noticed a dramatic increase in battery life, it's around two and a half hours with screen on and in constant use, so maybe 15-20 mins over the what it was, but the sleep power is noticeably longer. I used to hibernate if I knew I was not going to use the PC for a while but it doesn't make sense with extra writes in this configuration.Shutdown and hibernate are the same times, hibernate was faster by a few seconds on the older drive and was worthwhile for battery life. That balance is now the other way.Maybe it is testament to the performance of the hybrid, or maybe the Sandisk isn't a scorcher but comparing the IOPS and Read/Write headline figures and benchmarks this was a sensible choice over the Samsung 840EVO given the price differential at purchase time. The 840EVO is now selling much closer to the same price per GB and I would still like to real world test those two drives side by side. However, we are on the cusp on a new generation of Flash tech so perhaps both will appear dated in a few months time. Four stars only because I give the hybrid great credit. It will smash a standard 5400rpm laptop drive, so if it's to replace one of those it's a no-brainer.

A very long story but once correctly installed in my Dell XPS i7 laptop its really fantastic!!Not the fault of Sandisk, but the SATA to USB3 connection lead that I purchased from Amazon did not work completely - it worked well enough for the disk to be recognised by Windows 10 and by Sandisk's own management program, but was not reliable enough to support the clone process and I tried 5 clone programs!!!After hours of frustration I abandoned the connector lead and removed my 2nd internal disk and replaced it with the Sandisk SSD and then the internal clone operation from disk 1 went quickly ( 1.5 hrs for 400GB) and smooth with zero errors ..I used the software that Sandisk recommend on their SSD management utility http://www.apricorn.com/products/software/sandisk - although there is a host of others with that probably would have worked also.I then had to move the SSD to disk 1 slot and re-fit the original 2nd disk so a bit of fiddly work swapping around but it fired up mega fast straight away so well worth it.So in conclusion the connector lead looks the quick way, but beware and double check that it is really working correctly - in the end the disk swapping worked for me as luckily I had two internal disks to play with...NOTE: The connector lead that did not work : VicTsing 5Gbps USB 3.0 to SATA 22 Pin Adapter Cable With USB Power Cable For 2.5" Hard Disk Driver

Decided to replace the HDD in my Dell All-in-One 2320 as it was running painfully slow on Windows 8, 8.1 and now 10.Boot times, program opening times and multi-tasking all really poor. Considered a new PC or even a Mac but the cost of a fast machine made me reconsider.Decided to go for the Sandisk Ultra II 960GB as I had used 650GB on my c: drive after major clean outs.SSD delivered very quickly along with a usb to Sata cable and a 2.5" to 3.5" converter tray. The problems started when I tried to clone my c: drive. The Sandisk recommended software didn't recognise the ssd so I tried another Macrium's software. This cloned but took 15 hours! I then fitted the ssd into my all in one but it wouldn't boot - just an error message.Tried all the Dell diagnostics which confirmed all the hardware was fine. So, removed ssd and had another cloning attempt using Acronis software (paid for version). This cloned in 4 hours.Re-fitted ssd into Dell and everything booted up properly.Boot time is much improved, programs open in seconds and multitasking is much better. And the mechanical hdd noise has gone!Apart from the cloning problems, the ssd has been an excellent upgrade so far giving my Dell a new lease of life.Hopefully Windows 10 App Store will start to work as well now ?

I have used a number of SSDs in the past year, in my desktop, mini PC and my laptop. This drive is no slouch. The SanDisk went into a mini PC that I ran as a Steam Machine for a few weeks, before ending up as additional storage in my main desktop. The drive is nice and fast, and has a formatted capacity of about 223GB. This is a little on the small-side for me as the only drive, but as an additional drive or a system drive paired with a larger storage drive, this leaves plenty of room to play with.To take full advantage of this, make sure you have a SATA III port available. It will still be faster than a hard drive on SATA II, but if you can spare it,you'll enjoy the extra speed.SanDisk have a tool on their site for additional configuration options and firmware updates, which is handy (not all SSD manufacturers provide these). The drive itself is 2.5inch, the same physical dimensions as a has laptop hard drive, but it comes a plastic spacer for use in a larger bay. It's hard to come up with interesting things to say about SSDs at this point. Computer technology moves so fast you tend to take things for granted. But SSDs continue to impress me on a daily basis, and the SanDisk is no exception.

Bought this to upgrade the hybrid SSD in my Lenovo Yoga 2 and I wasn't disappointed. It's very fast (boots to OS in 5 sec's) so managed to clone my existing Win8.1 OS to it quickly and with the addition of the Sandisk Dashboard it gives you all the info you need to monitor temperature, remaining life, transfer speeds etc.The only real issue I had was the depth of the Sandisk SSD, my Yoga's HSSD turned out to be VERY thin and this unit is a couple of mm thicker (I'd recommend checking the dimensions of your existing drive before buying - I didn't) however, after some creative 'modification' to the laptop drive caddy it fitted nicely with no noticeable bulging of the back cover when screwed backtogether. As with all SSD's and HHD's the capacity on the box isn't the available capacity of the drive - it says 480Gb but the available usable space was actually closer to 447Gb, something to think about if you're cloning from an equivalent capacity drive (I had to shrink one of the drive volumes on the original drive to accommodate this small(ish) issue).Other than those little niggles it's a great SSD that's very quick, good value for money and definitely worth getting to upgrade your laptop (or PC).

I found the installation into a laptop initially daunting as not done this before. There are no instructions with the SSD but Sandisk do have one you can get from their website. They do recommend buying their SATA to USB3 conversion kit for cloning your old HDD. As I already had a similar cable (docking station for external HDD) I opted against the kit as its £19.99.First you have to format the drive using the Disk Management screen on Windows. Not easily found to the uninitiated (press and hold windows key + R then type in diskmgmt.msc) but once so formatting is easy.Sandisk recommend downloading EZ Gig IV cloning software, but after much faffing about with it not working I found info to suggest it only works with Sandisk's cable/kit!After more faffing around I located this amazing free program (Macrium Reflect) that does all the cloning. It took me only 1hr40 to clone my whole old HDD (750gb and I partitioned the remaining 195gb on the SSD).I thought I'd share my experience with other people who might get put off. I'm pleased I did it and my 3 year old laptop seems like a new one now. I'd defo do it again.

I was looking for a cheap SSD that isn't the Samsung 840 or 850 series (which has exhibited some data corruption problems with TRIM, see the news), yet is fast enough for 2011 Macbook Pro.I have been using this for the last 2 months and couldn't be happier. The system boots in 15 seconds.Since a recent Yosemite update Apple has enabled TRIM support for third party drives again (use the command 'trimforce', for more see http://www.imore.com/os-x-10104-and-trim-support-should-you-turn-it). That also means FileVault can be enabled and won't deteriorate the speed and lifetime of the device. Without TRIM, FileVault would mess with wear-leveling of the SSD.This is a 7mm thick drive. It comes with an extra piece of plastic to make it 9mm, however this plastic must be glued on. The Macbook originally came with a 9mm HDD, but given you have to screw the drive in all four sides into a caddy, there was no point adding this to it.Note that this drive comes with a 3 year warranty, only the Extreme II and Extreme Pro come with 5 and 10 years, respectively.

I have upgraded an apple macbook from 2010 and it was really a difference. Boot time and to get back from sleep is 10 times faster now.It is very fast and after a month use i am still happy with it.People often askes if i am worried about loosing data with a SSD and i am to some level. What i say is, the risk is about the same with any storages. Back up all the data you want to save. I have a NAS with RAID for pictures so it is always, always about probabilities of failures and what a damage will cause. Store thing you care about in two different discs, when one fails, the other one is still valid. Get a now one quick and make a back up one the copy you have one of.They are probably of the same age and will fail about the same time... so move quickly. Here is the same with a SSD. To reinstall an OS isn't a big thing. To loose a picture or thousands is always unnecessary.Go and get one from Sandisk. They know what they are doing. They were one of the first with SSD about ten years ago.

I got the 960Gb version along with a cloning kit - the latter was really just to get hold of a USB to SATA converter - in a flash sale for around £150. Incredible value. In a Dell Inspiron 7537 it slotted in fine without the need for spacers etc. - it is the same height as the existing hard drive. Where necessary you can use the included spacer and screws to install. The upgrade was so simple, no BIOS changes required at all. Windows 10 just booted straight up. It's so fast! The previous disk was painfully slow, this one changes the way you use the laptop. It's now easier to shut down rather than hibernate (and better for log life of the SSD), but I now also use sleep mode, which lasts for several days at least - that way I can resume from where I left off. From boot up I can use applications within about 20 seconds - it's quicker than firing up a tablet now.

Best upgrade You can do for Your ageing laptop or PC, It wont make your games have more FPS but all rest of computer performance is just WOOOW.I've installed that on 2011 HP DV6 6030ew laptop. I've putted that in place of never used DVD-ROM (you can get caddy for few pounds) and now i have nearly 1TB of storage space.Windows 7 boots up time...less than 10 seconds (on standard HDD it was around 2 minutes). All apps are loading in no time and they are running very smooth. Honestly all laptop feels now like new, way faster machine.I was thinking before to get new laptop because I was very annoyed with overall low performance of my laptop but after some research I've decided to give chance to SSD,now I'm not thinking about changing anything and I have few pounds saved for christmas gifts :)

I bought this SanDisk Ultra II 480GB SSD in September 2015 to use in my PC fitted with an ASUS M4A785D-M PRO mobo and Windows 10 64-bit (upgraded from Windows 7 64-bit). This mobo only has SATA II so I obviously knew I would not get the maximum speed benefits the drive could offer. In saying that it is, as expected, much much faster as my boot drive than the previously fitted HDD. I had a bit of a hiccup when upgrading to Windows 10 and PC failing to boot but that was down to me not correctly setting the AHCI option in the BIOS and Windows. This SSD has given me sterling service since purchase and I would have no hesitations in buying another SanDisk drive.

I bought this SSD in the Black Friday deals for £80 for the 480GB version of this drive - I simply bought it for the unprecedented good value. I'm using it as a data drive in my laptop (I already have an 840 Evo SSD for the boot disk), and I'm using this SanDisk SSD for games & data - it's a fast drive & has been trouble free. It's an excellent SSD to get for typical PC workloads, but if your usage is very heavy on writes then this drive might not be the best for you (you will definitely know if you're one of these 'rare' people, and if you're not sure then you're definitely not one of them!), but for most people this SSD will be just fine.

Snatched this up in a recent sale and don't regret it. Replaced a Kingston 120GB SSDnow V300 which was still operating perfectly well but just wasn't quite big enough anymore. Item arrived as expected and without damage. Installation was no different to any other hard drive. I have noticed it seems to perform a little faster than the old Kinston SSD but I bought it for the storage size. Hard drives are never displayed in the operating system at the full size that the manufacturer lists, Windows sees this as being 893GB which is still pretty good. A terabyte hard drive usually come down to about 931GB in the OS so this is a pretty good deal.

Solid State Drive Compared to Hard Drive (Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB).Actions involving storage read or write are quicker with SSD than HDStarting Windows 7 to login screen almost twice as quick with SSD - took SSD between 14 to 29 secs compared to 55 to 115 for HD.From Login Screen to display of desktop can be done from SSD 13 times in time taken to do it once from HD - took about 11 secs from SSD compared to 149 to 222 secs from HD.Video editing software PowerDirector opened a project on SSD almost 10 times faster than same project stored on HD - took SSD 22 secs compared to 210 secs for HD.
