This monitor is huge. I keep coming back to this, even after a prolonged period of exposure to its enormity. Nothing can quite prepare you for receiving this 4ft long package with clear gaming branding on the outside. Within all components are well packages and secure, but I would definitely recommend following the instructions, using the box to assemble and move the monitor until you’re ready to set it up. In the box you get a nice selection of cables including a USB, Micro Display and HDMI cables that feel like good quality. You also receive a plate for wall mounting the monitor which, if you can, I would recommend as the stand for this monstrosity it at least 2ft deep and unless you have quite a deep surface to pop it on you’ll quick run out of surface space.Once you’ve got the monitor set up and you’ve had a little of a laugh to yourself at just how huge this is you notice how well put together it is. All surfaces feel quality and the controller which sits on the underside, just off centre, feels solid and easy to use. You’ll also find 3 present buttons for quickly changing between set ups for gaming or work.I hooked up the monitor with a single micro display port and my Windows 10 pc picked it up straight away. The first of the slight niggles that I have with this monitor is the Low 1080 vertical resolution. Whilst the 3880 is glorious for productivity and gaming, after coming from a 2880 x 1440 QHD monitor you really do notice the vertical pixel count reduction especially when you notice all your icons end up quite large. Luckily the width does compensate for this but does take some getting used to. But once you’re used to it I now can’t imagine going back to a smaller single monitor set up.Unlike having a two-monitor set up the lack of a bezel in the middle actually allows this the use of 3 windows easily with Windows snap feature making resizing easy as pie. The biggest advantage I can see for gamers is for those that stream. I can now have a full 1920 x 1080 gaming window in the middle of the monitor, then twitch an OBS running either side meaning I’m not constantly looking back and forth and the curve means everything is just in the peripherals of my vision.I was slightly concerned before receiving the monitor on the number of supported games and how they are supported natively with a resolution this unusual. However, with most modern games I’ve found they’ve almost been good to go out of the box. Most recently Shadow of the Tomb Raider game me some concerns when the game powered up and the menus all had black bars either side. Damn I thought, even though the resolution was set correctly seemed like my first try was a fail. But I thought I’d give the game a go anyways and was so happy when the titles came up and the black bars faded away to be filled with Glorious Tomb Raidery (sure that’s a word). My gaming rig is powered by a new RTX 2080 and on ultra could easily handle pumping out the resolution, helped by the lower vertical resolution. Some older titles were supported as well, specifically I tested world of warcraft, where the additional space was of great help almost completely taking all the spells and ability out of my main gaming space allowing me to focus on the game. The only time the width is a bit of a pain for gaming full screen is with FPS where the HUD is usually split and pushed to the far outside of the monitor, so you do find yourself having to actively turn your head from side to check radar and then back to ammo. A great exception to this was Destiny 2 whose developers thoughtfully bring in the HUD closer to the centre allowing the edges to just give you a much wider field of view. Throughout my 3 weeks with this monitor I must say I’ve had a couple of games crash on me but this could be a combination of the odd resolution and (more likely) poor early support for the RTX 2080 rather than the monitor. Fast paced action looks silky smooth with the 144hz refresh rates and colours do really pop thanks to the QLCD panel. I’ve been very lucky that I’ve not had any dead pixels in my unit.

For reference I own the ASUS PG279Q but unfortunately I wasn't able to hook them up side by side because there's just not enough room on the desk!Certainly before you plug in this monitor it looks a hell of a lot better than the PG279Q. There is some light assembly needed for the stand but it takes far less space and offers very good adjustability. The only thing I don't like about the monitor is that the plastic cable cover on the back isn't designed very well at all. If you're going to use the built in USB hub, headphone jack and mic inputs then good luck fitting those cables through that little hole they give you.So turning it on I was very impressed by the picture out of the box - each display is calibrated out of the factory and it definitely puts the Asus monitor to shame.I was excited about HDR and Freesync however that's where things got sketchy. Unfortunately Nvidia do not support Freesync despite being, well, free since it competes with their own proprietary solution and as such I cannot test it. Luckilly I have seen the effect of G-Sync which is functionally identical and it's great for games which have stutter since you see the frames exactly when they're ready meaning that you can't tell there's stutter but you will be able to tell if the framerate drops.HDR was a bit of an odd one. Windows 10 automatically recognised the screen and my graphics card as being HDR compatible and so offered me the option to turn it on but each time I clicked the option it immediately turned itself back off. It wasn't until I tried the HDMI cable that came with my PS4 slim that it decided to stay on. Weirdly, after that happened something must have clicked as it decided it would also work with the HDMI and DisplayPort cables that came with the monitor. Sadly this is where you come to realise that Windows' HDR support is chuffing awful. The desktop becomes a washed out shell of its former self and there's next to no games which support HDR. I tried Forza Horizon 3 as it supports HDR on Xbox but apparently it does not on PC - sort it out Microsoft!Looking back to the PS4, I knew it supported HDR and has a good number of HDR supported titles which I owned, so I plugged it in and used the monitor's inbuilt headphone output for sound. First I tried Horizon Zero Dawn which allowed me to toggle HDR on the fly. The best way to explain HDR is that it's the difference between looking at a picture of a sunset and actually seeing it in person. It's completely different from having a TV with the brightness turned too high as in HDR every part of the image seemed natural yet specific parts had extra light coming from it. It looked stunning in an already beautiful game.Switching to Resogun where the effect is a lot less subtle - the neon explosions make this game feel totally different although the curve of the screen not matching the curve of the playing area did sort of clash a bit, if I thought about it.Overall I love this screen however you do have to bear in mind that Windows has really poor HDR support and that Freesync will only work on AMD GPUs. Conversely consoles don't support Freesync at all but have great HDR support however this is a monitor, not a TV so you need to think about the sound output.

Wow, wow, wow! The sheer enormity of this screen hits you when the box arrives on your doorstep, it's simply immense. As a tip I would recommend moving the box to the room in which the monitor will live and then proceed to unboxing it. Follow the unboxing instructions included on the box as this simplifies everything.I had it all setup in around 15-20 minutes (including cabling up) On the subject of cables, you get everything you could possibly want cable-wise included, however, getting to the connectors can be tricky when it's in situ so I would recommend inserting the cables whilst the monitor is still on it's front in the box. This also holds true for sorting out the excellent (but tight!)cable management built into the monitor.Time to fire it up... OK, initial disappointment as the resolution wasn't readily recognised .I have an Nvidia GTX1060 8GB card and although the Nvidia suite noted the correct resolution it clearly wasn't actually displaying at that resolution. So I headed to good old Windows display control, set the resolution there and voila! A M A Z I N G !! and that was just the desktop. Now time to put this beast through it's paces... Forza Horizon 4. Simply put, playing on this scale at a desk really does negate the need for VR. After playing for just a few minutes you really feel you are there! It just about engulfs your whole field of view.Time to take to the skies in XPlane 11. Again, just like being in the aircraft and a far superior jump up from a 3 screen setup. Just needed to play with the FOV (field of view) setting during a paused game to get the most realistic view of the cockpit. Couple these visuals with realistic flight controls and you could feel like you are flying literally anywhere! Finally time to shoot some bad guys... Gears of War 4. Big, immersive, edge of your seat action on an epic scale. I set all the games to the native resolution running everything in Ultra with no problems. Some people have commented that the 1080 vertical aspect is not as expected but to run anything higher, height wise, would exclude so many people, other than those with ultra high end PCs from utilising the screen. A wise decision on Samsung's part I think. To conclude then, If you're a gamer, video or photo editor or currently have 2+ screens to work on, give this monitor your attention. You won't be disappointed, the future is curved!

Currently the monitor arrived and had the white screen of death , a horrible whirring noise and patches some 4 inches wide of darker white to one side, I check with several computers and on Samsung's help forums and it seems a repair is needed.I have contacted them this afternoon and the repair company will contact me within 24-48 hrsI will update here when they do and tell you all how it goesI don't know if the fault was there due to manufacture or transportation but the design looks to be good and the balance of the screen on the desk is very stable.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Got a new monitor now which works.I used to have a 60fps 4k Asus monitor which was great for gaming however since i got this 2k 144hz HDR curved monitor i have not used it. This 2k one is much better, the 144 frames per second is alot smoother than 60 and is very noticeable when playing FPS games like battlefield or PUBG. The curved screen is actually really nice as well and makes the picture look better when looking at the sides of the screen. The QLED picture quality is amazing, much better than my old 4k asus one. The colours are much brighter and colourful. The dashboard is nice and easy to use and you can change things like refresh rate or picture quality. You can also bring the screen forward or push it backwards, up, down and even spin it around so you can have any angle you want. The only downside to this monitor is the stand because it sticks out and gets in the way of my mouse mat and i sometimes hit it with my mouse but it usually does not bother me that much. The HDR also currently does not work as Microsoft messed it up in a patch back in may but the picture is amazing without it and im sure it will get fixed.Overall i would highly recommend this monitor to anyone who is looking for 144HZ and if your stuck deciding between this or 4k 60, 2k 144 is defiantly the way to go, i would also recommend Samsung for any monitor or TV as their products and customer service is always great.UPDATE - Finally got the HDR working and it looks amazing, if i could give this more stars i would. Defiantly the best monitor i have ever had.

This monitor is fantastic for both gaming and watching movies/tv shows. The Quantum Dot technology helps to produce an incredibly vibrant display, and the response time combined with the low input lag is quick enough for fast paced shooters. I came from the ASUS VG24QE, to the C27HG70 (The 1080p non-HDR version of this monitor) and then to this, which is a substantial upgrade. 1440p + 144hz is the sweetspot right now for gaming on a 27" display. (32" 1440p is the same PPI as 24" 1080p whereas 27" gives a sharper image) The rated 1ms response time only reduces the motion blur, not the actual response time of the display which also locks the brightness. I just leave the response time on standard, the rate is low enough for me to play games such as CSGO, COD and BF without any issues. The HDR capability works well in the games i have tried (BF1, SWBF2, Destiny 2) The colours appear to be less intense at first compared to when the feature is turned off, but the image is much more accurate and true to life. BF1 and Destiny look stunning.I would have given this 5 stars but there are a few issues I have had to deal with.-I returned the first monitor as it has severe bleeding which made it unwatchable for content with dark backgrounds, the second display i had to RMA because the screen would output the image with horizontal fuzzy/blurry lines. The display i am using now has some glow/bleed but it not really noticeable if i am sitting directly in front of it. I believe this may be an issue with most IPS and VA panels.- The stand forces the display to come out much further than every other monitor I have had. So much so that i have had to move my desk a few inches away from the wall so there is a big gap between the wall and the back of my desk. I have no idea why they couldn't just use similar stands to what companies such as ASUS and BenQ use for their gaming monitors.Overall, I am very pleased with this display. It looks very modern and the curvature adds a nice aesthetic feature. 1440p, 144hz, QD make it one of the best monitors for gaming you can currently buy. If Samsung could fix the manufacturing defects, backlight bleeding and the stand with a revision or upgrade, it would be 5 stars all round.

Straight out of the box and onto my desk, this monitor was an absolute winner, A huge, vibrant display. Very attractive and with a lovely curve that I found strange at first, but will get used to as I use it more. The screen is crystal clear with excellent colours.Due to the way the stand (which I have to say does a great job of keeping such a big heavy monitor rock-steady on my desk) is made, it has a really large footprint. which has made me actually have to re-organise the layout of my desk area. It comes with a wall mount, but I won't be using that. The monitor swivels at most angles - tilting forward and backward and also downwards at the lower corners. The screen curvature takes a little getting used to,for non-gaming use. I don't really do gaming on my PC. The buttons on the right hand side under-edge allow some alterations to the picture, but are fiddly to use. They allow you to change gaming screen mode etc.My son was very impressed indeed when he put his PS4 into it, this afternoon. It was a little better then the high spec flat monitor that he currently uses and so now he has big eyes for this monitor. He said that it was very responsive and that the picture motion quality was without any drag or pixellation. He went into the settings and said that the supplied cable was not good enough to get the full capability for the spec of the monitor if using it with a PC. He had some science-fiction cabling for his PS4 and it really looked fantastic. It is truly wonderful with the BluRay discs I have played through it.Conclusion - it's a hell of a monitor with a great display and at the same time it is quite expensive. My son says you get what you pay for and he's quite right. One to watch out for offers on - the price has fluctuated on this on Amazon. A winner.

I purchased this monitor coming from a 35 inch ultra wide. I was surprised to find the majority of games work with this unusual resolution with hud issues in some games being the main problem. For years I’ve had g sync monitors and wasn’t sure if I could live without it, with this monitors 144hz refresh rate I could barely notice any tearing and V-sync causes a negligible impact at 100+ fps gaming, if you have a powerful PC I think G-Sync is a little over rated, obviously it has Freesync but until AMD become competitive on the performance front that feature is likely to be wasted on many enthusiasts, what is more useful perhaps is Ultra low motion blur which the monitor does support.Picture quality wise the monitor impresses, whilst only vertically 1080p the image quality on offer is superb with none of the dirty look I've found before on other monitors like the Z35 for example. Colours are incredibly vibrant and really pop with a great black level providing the perfect backdrop. There are some downsides, where 21:9 monitors benefit fully from the extra screen space in the majority of games here we see the outer edges of the screen occasionally exhibiting some fish eye stretching, not the monitors fault just the game, but many work faultlessly, The Evil Within 2 is a stunning demonstration of this monitor in all of it's glory. As a side note I am now on my third exchange as the monitor had what appears to be a stuck blue pixel directly above the Samsung logo, they all have in exactly the same place so I guess it's a design thing, it's so close to the bezel that it really isn't a bother anyway.I was a skeptic, now I'm converted, forget 21:9, for true immersion it's all about 32:9.

An amazing monitor. Colours are rich and deep and hard to describe without using untechnical words like 'gorgeous' and 'beautiful'. More like looking through a window than staring at a screen. Despite what some have said curve is much easier to work with than flat screen and feels very natural even at 24". Perhaps not the best gaming monitor with some VA smear, 'Fastest' MBRT response time setting in conjunction lower (i.e. lighter, about 10-11) 'black level' settings, largely mitigates this. The intermediate 'Faster' setting just made my eyes wobble like jelly. Input lag is about 4ms with 'Low Input lag' on (24ms with it off) and carries no obvious quality penalty. Some black colours can have a purple hue, although this is NOT related to the 'purple artefact' issue that plagued it's predecessor. Text is perfectly legible, although not quite as sharp as a TN or IPS screen. Stand has all the adjustments you could need, feet take up a lot of room though.Nonetheless, genuinely disappointed to have to return this when the lower right hand corner, where the controls are, began to overheat significantly. Not only did this seem to affect the 'homogeneity' (i.e. brightness & contrast, not VA glow, of which there was very little) in that area, it might shorten the monitors lifespan as I suspect sub standard electronic components were the cause. The thermal image says 45.7C, it was actually clocked at 63C and rising! I haven't heard of anyone else suffering from this problem, so this may have been a one off (I certainly would have taken a replacement if it had been offered).Summary: This could have been a world beating monitor if only Samsung would sort it's quality control out!!

So, I upgraded to this 24in CFG73 from a 60hz TV on HDMI cable.Wow, Ive been so impressed. Just so sharp, smooth, colourful. But! A few things to know:1- like many comments, my box was also opened but it seems to have been opened by Samsung themselves. This can happen when a product goes out with faulty firmware and gets recalled before going on sale. Working in IT it happens more often than you'd think with hardware. If any items look dirty or scuffed, take it back to Amazon or just haggle for money off.2- this is a VA screen and clouding and VA glow is what is seen on these images of when the screen is purely black. Basically, this is just how VA works and if you snag this monitor sub 200,you don't have to worry about it! If your eyes are that sensitive, I'm sorry to say that you're buying in the wrong price bracket or going for the wrong technology for what you want. Try googling IPS and VA and TP and get a good idea of what you want.3- the calibration is all off on the factory settings, imho. I suggest Colours around R20 G35 B50, black control at 20, brightness35, contrast around 50 and sharpness around 60 to get the best 'wow' out of this monitor. Each monitor is different you your milage will vary. You can save that profile on one of the quick buttons and see what you think.4- this is my 1st curved monitor. it's curved but not drastically. You will barely notice if you are thinking about trying it out. And yet... I just love it. It feels more immersive, more than I had thought. For £170 that I paid for this, I am just so chuffed. The 65 inch telly doesn't get used much anymore.I can't mention gaming yet as my PC is still being built.

Great monitor - the panel itself seems more or less identical to the CFG70 model from last year and (having used both) I can say that the performance etc. is exemplary on both. The main difference with this one is a smaller (but similarly versatile) stand - so smaller box and less space taken up on your desk!I run it on a vesa mount - installation was simple, for anyone else wondering!144Hz (with options in OSD for other refresh rates) is a game changer if you have been on 60 or 75fps displays until now, everything from gaming to scrolling webpages or even just moving the mouse and windows around is so much smoother! The curve is fairly tight but does feel 'right' at normal viewing distances, maybe a bit gimmicky for a 24 inch monitor but that along with the rest of this monitor's crazy spec sheet is a steal at the price compared to similar options. The Quantum dot VA panel is gorgeous, I run an LG IPS ultrawide next to it and colours look amazing on both. 125% SRGB coverage is great for photoshop/design/CAD work which is a pretty common use for me, and the built in adjustments and game modes are a nice touch. Freesync is great if you run an AMD card, especially as it runs all the way up to the 144hz rate of this monitor.Build quality is standard samsung (ie great), and the hat switch on the back is good also - the blue light on the base of the panel can either be off, pulse or react to the sound input if it runs through the monitor.Remember to run it with a displayport cable (both displayport and HDMI cables are included) if you can to take full advantage of that silky smooth refresh rate!

I bought the 24 Inch LC24FG73.Lets start with the pros of this monitor. It is easy to setup, computer automatically detected it and supported 144Hz with a display port cable. It has a nice GUI, which is convenient to use and it also includes preset buttons, which definitely are a plus.I will point out that getting 144Hz for 200 pounds is quite a good deal, and I had some other choices in mind, but I wend with the experienced brand in the end. It's a curved monitor, which means that some people may be slightly repulsed by this (this maybe the reason why it was so cheap). And I also was sceptical about it at first, but I didn't even need to get used to the curve - it's not very significant, and as long as you don't have your head 5 centimeters away from the screen you will be fine. The image quality is decent (it's a VA panel after all), but with that comes the worst part of this monitor, and the reason I definitely could not give it 5 stars. As you can see in one of the images (the dark one is overexposed, it's not as bad as in the image), the backlight (especially in a dark environment) is not even, and as I've seen from some other reviews, it's a consistent flaw of the design. This will annoy you. Just start watching a film, or play a dark game and your eyes will immediately turn towards the lighter edges.Overall, I think 200 pounds was a good price for it, and I would have second thoughts paying more.

The best monitor on the market, by a long, long way.I've so far had an acer x34a and phillips bdm4350, and this blows them both out of the water - I'll be honest, at first it did take some getting used to, the ppi of 80 was something that I thought would throw me off but honestly everything that comes with this monitor is insane; 144hz is sooo amazing to play on; i've managed to reach 144fps on battlefield 1 at 3840x1080 and overwatch alike and it feels awesome, my performance has definitely increased - I was platinum in Overwatch and now I'm low grand masters.QLED, Quantum Dot and HDR are also insane, accompanied with 144hz, the awesome curvature and you're pretty much sorted for gaming forever.32:9 is insane to play on; I've been enjoying fallout 4 and skyrim with it, and it feels so much more immersive and dramatic - I'm not playing the game I'm almost living in it.You will need a good rig to play this; if you do the maths, to reach 144hz at 3840x1080 is like asking to reach 72hz at 3840x2160, which is a damn big task. I myself have two 1070's (running at 1807mhz each) and an i7 6700k (at 4.3GHZ), and I can just about maintain 144fps in most games that I play.Honestly, there are very little drawbacks to this monitor - its an easier resolution to run, and hdr is awesome.Get this thing if you can; dont doubt getting it!

Having previously used an Asus ROG Swift PG279Q, This has a better picture and the PG279Q is already a brilliant monitor.Colours on this really POP, Everything is so vibrant, The HDR feature is really nice too in games that support HDR, Gives them a whole other look,Mix in the 144Hz, Freesync i.e Adaptive Sync, And Quantum Dot tech with the brilliant contrast of VA panels and this is one awesome monitor, Gives games a whole new lease of life.If you are an AMD user you need this or if you simply want a panel that has a brilliant picture you will not be disappointed and high refresh rate, Brilliant piece of tech as well as visually pleasing with it's ergonomic aesthetic. The only current downside I could find to this monitor is the Freesync range,AMD Radeon settings report it as 72Hz to 144Hz, Not bad though, Just adjust your games accordingly, This is apparently getting lowered to 48Hz in an upcoming Firmware update which you can get from Samsungs site and then update it yourself through one of the USB ports at the back, Simply stick the updated Firmware on a FAT32 formatted stick and follow the PDF instructions on the site.If I had to buy a new monitor again, It would definitely be this one, Very highly recommended.

I bought this monitor to go with my laptop. Now I should explain I have a Alienware 13 R3 laptop which has an OLED display at 2560x1440 resolution. This monitor was never going to be able to compete with that at all. OLED is simply incredible. This monitor has a purpose though. Be large enough to enjoy my games a little more, have decent colour and also have a fast refresh. 1920x1080 is a great resolution to game at when your GPU is only a GTX 1060 in a laptop. The monitor was easy to set up and the on screen display is easy to navigate and set up everything you might want. I went online to find the best settings to use. my laptop has both HDMI and also Display port.I found than on HDMI I was limited to 120hz and I had to use display port to get the full 144hz. Though I am not sure the 24hz you lose will make a difference. It comes with the cables you might need.Colours are actually really good now I have tweaked the settings a little. Blacks are good, and there is a good level of detail to an image. The quantum dot makes a difference.the only complaint I could have is that the stand brings the monitor very far forward and is pretty large.

This is a beautiful monitor, I had no problems putting the monitor together, it comes with a fitting plate to adapt for a wall mount, This monitor has full rise and fall, and with a degree of rotation to vertical, and it came supplied with, HDMI, and a Display Port cables.Due to the slim frame, the size of this 27" takes up the same area, as my older 24". and when at the correct viewing distance, although you are looking at a curved screen the horizontal lines appear straight.Frugal on electric too, it uses 38w full on, and standby is 0.3w, In the menu you can select an Auto detectable input, but you do have to touch the Joystick button switch, found at the lower, right, rear,to take the screen out of standby, when you start your computer. The screens setup menu panels, make this Samsung 144hz screen very adjustable. I don't get any fatigue using this Samsung monitor, its just so fast @ 1ms, the colours are lovely. The only difficulty I experienced was with my computer, to forget the settings of my old monitor, once it had, the text was clear and very sharp. Keenly priced too. Well done Samsung.
