Having purchased a number of Ryobi products over the years this didn't disappoint. I've now logged a good number of barrow loads of ash from thick and heavy branches. I would recommend you buy the 18 volt 5.0 Ah battery to go with it (and a genuine one, not a cheap copy) although the 4 .0 Ah battery copes OK.My only criticism: The manual wasn't very helpful on putting it all together and unlike a conventional chainsaw the methodology of fitting the chain to the bar took some working out. Simple though ......once you've learnt how!

Perfect for cutting up logs but not really for cutting down trees. Much quieter than a petrol saw. Silent when not cutting and half the volume when in use. Unsurprisingly it eats batteries a bit - a 4Ah probably lasts around 15-20min.One small gripe - supplied with a tiny pot of chain oil - barely enough to fill to the minimum line, which it will quickly be below after a little use - thankfully I had more - most people won't. Supplying with enough to fill it up fully would be much better.

Adequately powerful for cutting logs 6 inches in diameter (the largestI have for testing). Assembly instructions are a bit sketchy unless youhave used a chainsaw before. Safety instructions section is huge. You really need protective trousers, helmet and facemask to be safewith any unguarded chainsaw. Chain tension adjustment is particularlystraightforward (no tools required).

The saw has only had 2 weeks of use so I can't award more than 4 stars. It operates with two levels of safety, is light to hold and very quiet. It was also very cost-effective as I owned batteries and a charger already. The enclosed Ryobi instructions are not good; I recommend a You Tube video instead. Not a heavy-duty chainsaw but my first ever and I'm happy.

I didn't need a chainsaw that would run for hours at a time - 20-30 minutes maximum is all I needed and since I have a few Ryobi batteries already even that wasn't a big deal. Saves all the faffing about with trying to get petrol drive chainsaw started up and no petrol needing stored somehere either

If you already have a Ryobi One+ Battery and charger then this is a good choice for cutting wood 6" and under (8/9" at a push). If you don't then I'd probably recommend looking at either a corded option or a cheaper petrol saw as adding battery and charger makes this rather expensive.

I WASN'T SURE WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THIS PRODUCT, BEING BATTERY POWERED. HAVING SAID THAT, I RATE THE RYOBI ONE PLUS TOOLS HIGHLY AND IT TURNS OUT THIS PRODUCT IS ALSO EXCELLENT. IT BREEZED THROUGH ALL OF THE WORK I PUT IT THROUGH AND IT'S LIGHTWEIGHT AND EASY TO USE. RECOMMENDED.

I bought for chopping logs up to 10" thick and using a non branded 4ah battery this thing cut like butter even better than my mains bosch chainsaw, light easy to put together and easy to use, wish i had bought one earlier to go with my collection of ryobi tools,i recommend highly

It is a very useful little chainsaw. I using for cut branches from tree and make firewood. Perfect for what I use it. It could be a bit cheaper but I expected quality by the brand that is why I spent this money.

chainsaw is all I want it to be, the service I received in picking up the saw was first class and would certainly use Sainsburys in Hitchin again to click and collect

this chain saw is great for small jobs I cant say for larger jobs as I have not used it on a big job it don't use much power well worth the money

20.3.2019

Excellent as a back up when needing a chainsaw to do small jobs, running mine with a 5ah battery and it managed 8 cuts in a 6inch round wet tree

Good little saw for light use but you do need a 5amp battery , also the battery needs to be an original Ryobi which is quite expensive.
