I'm not a huge one for cosmetics as a rule. I find lipstick usually wears off quickly and lip glosses can be so greasy they feel like they are sliding off your lips, and both types of product are often very drying. Therefore my favourite thing about this product is that it seems to last quite well, feels like it stays put, and actually feels like it is moisturising my lips as well!The "Demure" shade I was sent is a little pale for my liking, and I'd be a little cautious judging the product you will receive by the photos on the Amazon site - Demure looks much darker than it is in real life, so the others may look very different too!This has been produced really nicely too: it's a good chunky "pencil" type applicator that pushes up from the bottom so no need to sharpen.The lid feels like it's a nice tight fit so hopefully wouldn't come open in your handbag (always an important consideration or is it just me these things happen to?). And it's quite generously sized, especially considering how little you need and how well an application lasts. You're not going to get strong "lipstick" style colour as this is a transparent, slightly sparkley "stain" but it's perfect for work, daywear or when you want a subtler effect.The only thing I don't like about it is the mint fragrance. Don't know whether it's meant to plump your lips as these "tingley" oils sometimes do, but I could have done with unperfumed lips. That being said, it's a fairly subdued scent so not actively offensive.

This particular colour (Demure) is the exact same colour as my lips, it's a light pink colour that is almost nude on my lips if not for a little subtle sparkle - easily an everyday colour, although I'm normally a bright red lipstick gal I like having this for casual days. The colour doesn't seem to stay very long so I'm not sure why it's referred to as a 'stain' as it doesn't stain, but as it's barely noticeable on my lips anyway it's not an issue - for the most part I'm wearing this instead of my normal pink-toned lip balm, rather than as a lip colour.It feels absolutely lovely when applied, a really rich-feeling balm that actually seems to moisturize rather than just coating your lips to protect them,and once it wears off your lips stay feeling nicely moisturized - there's a slight tingling sensation a few minutes after application, but as someone especially sensitive to tingling lip balms I didn't find this a problem or not. Despite the sparkle it's also not gritty at all.Application is super-easy, I can apply without needing to look in the mirror - benefit of it being a similar colour to my own lips, but also the shape and size of the product make is easy to get onto your lips without making a mess. It's in a pen-shaped application tube but like lipsticks you can turn the bottom of the tube to wind up the product when it starts to wear down a little and you get a decent amount of product.

This looks a lot darker on the advert page than what I got, and on looks alone, this scores top marks. It's really beautiful with its shimmery baby pink case, and looks a lot more expensive than it actually is. Once opened, the pencil is so sleek and shiny, it doesn't look real, but reminded me of the lipstick that came with that weird doll's head make-up toy in the 70s.Once on, this starts to tingle immediately, and smells slightly of mint, which isn't listed on the ingredients, but which I don't mind. Against my light-ish Asian skin, this appears as a pale, slightly pearlised pink, with just a hint of shimmer. You don't need a lot, as it covers incredibly well - I just needed one slick on each lip.It lasts pretty well,which I tested on an hour's walk in cold, dry, windy weather. My lips didn't feel dry and even drinking out of a bottle didn't erase it. In fact, it lasted about 5hrs, and mostly through a meal, before I wiped it off. I wouldn't really call it a stain, as my lips didn't stain, and due to the shea, coconut and mango butter, it left my lips looking smooth and a little fuller/more plumped than normal.This is a product that I'll definitely be buying.

This is the first ColourBurst I have ever tried from Revlon, which is surprising, because I have heard lots of people rave about this lip product, such as SprinkleofGlitter, Tanya Burr and Zoella. I think this is a lip product for people with cooler skin tones, because it can leave a pinky mark on your lip line. I really enjoyed the minty taste to it, it is very subtle and not tingly which I like, because it is quite pleasant. The colour is a sparkly, nudey pink shade, which is perfect for everyday use. You could even apply it with no mirror. It doesn't stay on for a very long time, but I have never found a very moisturising balm to stay super long on my lips. It has a slight bit of glitter in it,which I find a bit much, but there is not much but there is no graininess to it and the glitter grains are not too big. I have found this quite moisturising, but I wouldn't use it instead of my everyday lip balm which is also from a drug store. If you have enjoyed this lip product, I would also recommend the Revlon Lip Butters. I think they are their most popular product.

This is basically a fancy tinted lip-balm. I like the pencil/crayon shape to it - makes it easy to apply, with less 'clumping' than I often find with tinted lip balms where the first application with the brush overloads balm in one area and you have to smooth it out. The colour is very subtle as well, at least with this shade - makes it more of a glossy, slightly shimmery quality than actual colour.I wasn't so sure about the mint tang. It made me lips tingle and at first I wondered whether this was also one of those 'lip plumping' balms that claim to make your lips slightly plumper, presumably by irritating them ever so slightly! But this isn't one of those, just a balm with a slight hint of mint to it.Interesting choice, not sure it really serves any purpose.My lips felt very soft and smooth afterwards, certainly - I can't comment on how long-lasting it is, since it isn't meant to be a lipstick and I tend to lick my lips or constantly drink water as I dehydrate easily, so no colour, balm or lipstick ever stays on my lips for long!

This lipstick is shaped rather like a crayon and is a soft,slightly shiny, pink in colour. The lipstick has a nice, moisturising feel to and the lip balm helps your lips feel soft – even when it is cold and windy out. It does apply quite lightly – so you need a few layers if you want the colour to really show. Also, it does need to be reapplied throughout the day, as it is not very long lasting. I think it could be described more as a soft lip balm, which also has some colour. However, as an everyday lipstick for work, it is fine and it feels very comfortable to wear. I really like the way this lipstick feels, even if you need to apply it more than once. The shade is subtle,so not really for when you are headed out on the town, but nice for daytime and good for my pale colouring. I have now tried a few of these lip balms and I have found that I have used them regularly during the day in preference to lipstick. If you are looking for something which will keep your lips moisturised and have a nice hint of colour,these are excellent.

Over to the wife.I used to wear Revlon make up but took a break from it because the quality was deteriorating but this is changing my mind about it again. It's a little weird. A balm in the shape of a pencil in a plastic housing-there is no actual pencil but you twist the silver bit at the end and more of it emerges, twist it the other way and it retracts again. I guess it does make for a more easy, mess free application (no digging into a pot with fingers) as you can just draw it on your lips a bit like chapstick or lipstick. The balm itself smells nice and it does the job of moisturising but probably not as well as Vaseline. The colour ("Demure")is a very light pink that I think would suit only very fair skin and not olive complexion like mine. It needs several applications to get the right amount on and will need topping up through the day as it's a balm.So overall quite nice, but I will likely stick to the tinted Vaseline lip balms available as they do a better job of moisturising and are probably better value for money.}

I really liked this lip balm. It had a lovely smooth creamy application and it didn't go dry and tight. I was a bit worried when I read that it was a stain as I've found they can make my lips feel quite dry. The product itself just has Colorburst Lacquer Balm on it (no mention of the word stain) and it is much more like a lip balm in feel. I did find I had to reapply it a few times throughout the day, so if you're looking for something that you only have to apply once then you should probably look at a different product.The colour Demure is a very subtle pink, basically a nude but with a nice shimmery sheen to it. Until I read other reviews I hadn't even noticed the slightly minty taste!I immediately went and put some on and it does have a slight mintiness to it, but not overwhelmingly so.I would definitely try this product again - I like the shade, it's the perfect size to fit in your handbag and it makes your lips feel really nice.

Have already used this but in another shade so knew what it was like when used and the effect it had on my lips.It soothes and makes your lips nice and soft but also colours them. A bit like a chunky crayon, twist the silver bottom and up pops the colored crayon. No sharpening required and they do last a long time. Still using my other shade and that must be two months plus and that with it being used practically everyday.This shade I ordered as was thinking it a summer colour to go nicely with a light tan and orangey coloured clothing, it does and looks not a bright one but just a nice light summery shade.No gooey mess either with it being in crayon style so should be ok in bag over summer months.I have been so pleased with these chunky lip crayons now that I tend not to use the usual lipstick bullet style ones anymore as these are easy to apply, soften lips and do not melt in the heat.

The Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm Stain, Demure looks like a chubby pencil that needs sharpening when blunt. But looks are deceiving as we all know. Underneath this 'normal pencil' exterior are hidden depths. Take off the lid and you soon realise it's a high shine lipstick with a balm-like moisture in the form of a pointed crayon. When used down, it can be screwed up to replenish. No sharpener required!It tastes more like chewing gum to me (not sure why) as it is infused with Revlon's Triple Butter Complex of shea, mango, and coconut butter. Still it's a nice taste and certainly makes my lips very smooth and soft. Just what I need in this cold wintery weather to keep my lips from getting chapped.Plus, it works in the same fashion on hot summer days when the sun can dry your lips up.Finally chubby can now be seen as fashionable again...

This is a lipstick, lipbalm and stain all in one attractive product.It's got the colour of a lipstick but eases on like a balm - smooth and shiny.I have light brown hair and very pale/fair skin and this colour really went with my complexion. It was shiny, bright and had a hint of shimmer.As I mentioned, the balm is very soft and easy to apply. The length the colour stays on really depends on what activities you are undertaking. I went out for shopping and a coffee and it stayed on for approximately 3 hours without needing a touch up. I was happy with that.Overall, a really great product. If you're looking for a lipstick that has the ease of application and beautiful smoothness of a lipbalm then I would recommend this product to you.Small enough to put in your pocket and keep your lips looking delicious throughout the day. 5 stars.

This is as lovely product - a chubby roll-up soft crayon delivering a light coverage of colour you can apply without a mirror. However, for a product you'll need to top up throughout the day (because it's a sparkly lip balm, not a lipstick) and therefore carry with you in your handbag, it's surprisingly large - 11cm (4.5") compared with 7cm (2.75") for a standard lipstick. (I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, really, because the the dimensions are included in the product description.)That said, the packaging is attractive - it doesn't show in the picture, but the package is shiny and metallic.The product is described as a 'balm stain', which means it's a tinted balm delivering only a hint of colour along with a dose of light glitter.There's a pleasant minty tingle which feels fresh on your lips. A lovely moisturising lip balm.

This lipstick is something in between a lipstick, a lipbalm and a lipliner. It's crayon-shaped but needs no sharpening (a great plus, in my opinion: as sharpening is often messy and wastes product).I was offered this product in the 'demure' shade which is perfect for me as I have very thin lips and often they can look even thinner if I wear a bright red shade. This 'Balm Stain' feels nice and smooth - unlike any other 'stain' products I have tried in the past (inevitably they end up in the bin as they're very drying). It also has a slight peppermint flavour - but nothing too noticeable and it disappears very quickly. I love the fact that this product has a subtle shine to it,which again helps making your lips look fuller.I'm very, very impressed with this Lacquer Balm Stain and would certainly recommend it.

My wife says."I use a plain, clear lip balm every day, just to keep my lips soft and feeling comfortable. I'm not a great make up wearer at all, and haven't the time or inclination to bother to put on even a lick of mascara or a sweep of blusher in the morning. Life's too short. As long as my face is clean and moisturised, I'm good to go. This product, then, is ideal for someone like me. It combines all the benefits of a lip balm with a subtle hint of colour that makes you feel like you've made just that little bit more effort. It's easy to apply, being a cute, chubby, little crayon-type of thing, and feels nice on the lips, without being too obvious or in the least strident.It's make up for those of us us who can't be bothered to wear make up, and lip balm for committed lip balm wearers. Perfect!"

So, I requested this product for my wife. She's a hair and beauty business owner so thought she could review it . In her words...LOVEITLOVEITLOVEIT. So convenient, no sharpening, incredibly easy to use, very soft on skin and moisturising. The colour is a little pale for me and as a pale colour not very defined but I'm sure that can be addressed by choosing a deeper shade. The lid fits well and doesn't fall off in your handbag but it's a big enough pencil to find quickly. I've tried other brands and loved them too but this one does feel incredibly silky smooth upon application. Staying power could be improved but if it means a compromise on the silky moisturising effect I'd personally rather have the moisture than the staying power.Overall a complete win for me,a definite buy product.
