This is a monster of a light bulb which of course it is meant to be as it negates the need for a light shade. It has a stylish smoky silver look with a vintage like filament. Being an LED bulb, it consumes a fraction of the power of a standard tungsten filament.There are a few things you will need to take into consideration:It is a 40W equivalent and one bulb is fine if it is in a standard lamp and you want a little bit of mood lighting. However, it has a 4000K colour temperature which is a little on the white side. 2700K-2900K is a soft white that we are pretty much used to for living rooms and bedrooms. As you increase the colour temperature it takes on a stark white which produces less colour distortion but it gets a little clinical.

A very interesting product from Philips. It's a bright white bulb, so suited to kitchens or outside.If outside, use in pairs, one at either side of a dramatic entrance door, it would certainly make a statement. One friend mentioned how great they would look set on top of entrance parapets either side of a pair of decent gates! Whatever you choose, these bulbs are huge so they will need to be placed in a dominating position with lots of room either side.I however, am using three of these in a row with long standard pendants above my dining table. They are a great talking point and alternative to the usual 'three shades in a row'.To keep them clean, switch them off, wipe down with a damp cloth and anti bac spray.

This is a very large, single LED bulb that will make a statement, either alone or preferably as part of a trio or more hung from a ceiling. It is a large Edison screw fitting, so you will need to use an adaptor if you have bayonet fittings. The light emitted is at the cooler end of the spectrum (white rather than yellow), so it is more clinical and perfect for lighting above a dining table, or perhaps above stairs, although note that it is only 270 lumens, so dull if used alone.Life expectancy is 15 years/15,000 hours, it is instantly bright and is also dimmable.

This is lovely to look at, elegant and stylish in a very understated way.It is large and in the right setting will be a stunning addition to a room. The added bonus is that it is dimmable. It has a large screw in(I think they call them bayonet).Now the downside is it will not fit my current bulb holders (have tried all of them in my home) and I need to source a fitting to fit this.In spite of not being able to hang it (yet) I anticipate it will be a "statement" in my hallway.

Super stylish bulb but way bigger than I expected. Looks fantastic lit or unlit. My only concern is about its longevity but I will report back when it gets to that stage.

I love these bulbs, such a statement and looks amazing. Great light quality and positively dimmable without issues. Very impressive look.
