Like hundreds of others i celebrated when Philips finally producrd a Hue Golfball small edison screw fitting aka E14 for side lights and table lamps.... my Amazon search for an E14 Hue golfball bulb brought me to this item. The E14 has been in such high demand that tracking down "in stock" ones is no mean feat. With so many variants for smart lighting out there, human fallibility means researching the specifications is a must, because sellers also make mistakes.Saying a bulb is Hue compatible isnt necessarily untrue because of how Smart Home technology has evovled with the "brains" being in the socket you screw a regular bulb into, not the actual bulb.As such looking at the images provided by this seller clearly illustrates that this is a dumb Philips LED bulb. The intelligent hue bulb has Hue printed under the philips logo on the box and the bulb, they come in boxes and not in blister packs, they dont come in "clear" glass... and a single bulb certainly doesnt come in at £10.99, when its new to market. If it looks too good to be true, then check it out.

My mission was to replace existing 50w spot lights with LED equivalent. So many bulbs look identical from the specifications that it was impossible to identify the best. Even after deciding to only look at Philips bulbs it was hard work. I couldn't tell the difference between any of them with identical specs or identify release dates. I thought latest should be best as LED technology is improving rapidly. I also had a bad experience a few years back - harsh blue light and not as bright as claimed. So I took the plunge with these 8718696599785 as the Philips web site seems to show them as latest 50w equivalent. They are a true replacement for halogen 50w; bright and warm.I am very happy with them will probably buy more. I am tempted to try Philips 8718696528334, which seem almost equivalent at centre intensity of 650 vs 900 for these. Overall both are rated about 350 lumens but cheaper than these.

Great product. Strong bright light, warm, and the mirror covering is very effective at stopping the light escaping. I bought a similar Osram bulb in Amazon, which was far inferior. Highly recommended.

Last Philips corepri LEDs all died within 3 years see if these do better. Nice light but associated electronics seem patchy
