This is a great light. It’s quite big, larger than a dinner plate (16” across), but very slim, giving it a floating appearance. The light it gives out is lovely, and you can adjust the shade of the light between a very cool white to a rich warm candle colour. At 39W it gives out a reported 3000 lumens, which is bright enough for a small to medium sized room. If this was the main light in a large room you would probably want some additional lights.The ceiling connection is standard so it’s easy to replace any normal light fitting. You can adjust the length of drop from 8cm all the way to 158cm, so it should work in most settings. The steel cable adjustment is really clever- the cable just feeds into a mechanism in the base and locks,or you push the fitting in to extend the cable. This makes it very easy to adjust and level the light once it is up. Once you’re happy, you can screw the fittings tight to avoid accidental movement. The Mains cable just pushes into the ceiling fitting or the light itself. One of the steel cables on ours had got tangled in transit- untangling it was the most fiddly bit of the installation.After fitting, it works just like a normal light, with your standard light switch turning it on and off (it doesn’t work with a normal dimmer switch). It comes with a remote dimmer switch in the box- this requires your normal light switch to be On, then it will allow you to turn on,off or dim the light, as well as change the shade of light colour. You don’t need anything else, but if you have a Hue bridge, you can pair it with the hue app, which allows you to control it with your phone, tablet, Alexa, Siri etc, as well as integrating it with any other Hue devices such as motion sensors. With the app you can set it to come on at set times etc.Overall, this is a great looking product, at a good price considering the functionality. As it has built in LEDs, there’s no extra expense on bulbs. The downside is that they’re non-replaceable, so if the lights ever died you’d have to replace the whole unit.

Yes, it is pricey... but it is also quality! It is well made as you come to expect from Philips/Signify.Quite easy to adjust the drop and this can even be fine tuned once fitted to the ceiling using the three clever locking mechanisms that feed the steel cables... very useful to level the light head with a spirit level.It produces a good range of light from cool to warm white and is bright enough for most average sized rooms.I have absolutely bought into the Philips Hue family with around 35 lamps, fixtures and accessories throughout the house. The only room with non-Hue bulbs is the bathroom, every other is Philips Hue. This Being Ceiling Pendant makes a great addition to the family!

An absolutely stunning light! Perfect for my dining area and fits in well with all of my furniture. Produces more than adequate lighting and the design is modern and effective.
